The bush rustled as a shadow came out with great speed, equaling the speed of a tiger.

A wild boar ran, and ran, and ran, never stopping. The boar tried to escape her grasp.

"You can't escape!" someone shouted, a soft, feminine voice.

Fwoosh!

In an instant, a powerful kick struck the boar's back, smashing it and cracking the ground beneath. The boar died in an instant.

"It seems I had put too much force into it."

Her hair was white—long, white hair with a tinge of silver; her eyes were gold, with red slits, staring at the dead boar, similar to how an eagle look at its prey. Her white-dress looked expensive, with gold accents on its cuff and collar, and gold white belt. Standing at 161 centimeter

"Dinner is almost ready," she said to herself.

She is Ryunova El-Tan, a girl who grew up in seclusion, living in the forest near the kingdom of Selfrest. Eight years ago when she was only eight years old, an accident caused Ryunova to lose all her past memories—except for her name. Since then, she has lived alone, surviving day and night, training relentlessly, and honing her skills just to survive.

She grinned mischievously as she started dragging the dead boar to her home. And she stopped, her eyes darted to the bush at her right side.

And something came out of the bush, growling cutely. It was a small dragon. It had pitch-dark scales, heterochromia—its right eye was blue and its left was red with a black slit. Two horns extended backward, and two pairs of dark wings. It was ominous; the aura radiating around the little dragon was somewhat ominous.

Ryu tilted her head slightly, and she made a confused expression.

"Aha~!" she smiled. "What a cutie," and within a split second, Ryu caught the little dragon, and hugged it firmly. "What a cutie pattotie black dragon."

The dragon growled, trying to escape Ryunova's grasp, but failed miserably.

"Why are you here, little one," Ryunova asked, looking at the dragon's eyes.

As expected, he can't answer... Wait, is it a he or a she? Ryunova thought childishly.

She might appear serious, but behind that little facade hides a childish and free-spirited girl. She sighed and stood up. She went back to the boar she left behind while carrying the small dragon no her left arm.

The small dragon's claw clung around my left arm, and its eyes is locked on me.

What is this feeling? I thought. I felt nostalgia, and a soothing feeling in my heart. A relaxing breeze wrapped around my body as if I am being lifted by the wind, even though I am not.

What was that voice?! Was it the little dragon?

"Oum... H-how about..."

A name? I must choose a name that suit its characteristic... Dark scale, and ominous eyes... Hmm... And I pondered for awhile.

"How about Noir."

I don't know why I picked that, but that seems to ring a bell. I think that is because of my past memories, or the memories I had lost, I came to that conclusion. I smiled as the dragon closed its eyes and lay on my arm.

"I guess you are satisfied with that name, Noir."
