Chapter 1 - "In the cage"

The car ride was silent, and he hadn't said a word since we got in. He didn't seem like the talkative type.

"Um… why am I here?" I asked cautiously, afraid of what his answer might be.

"Because I want you to. Is that answer enough?" he replied shortly.

I decided not to bother him anymore because, who knows, anything could happen. If I wanted to get out of this situation in one piece, I had to think calmly and clearly. The raindrops were hitting the car window, but then getting wiped away by the windshield wipers. I stared out the window the whole time, sometimes stealing quick glances at him. We drove through the woods, and the trees swayed back and forth in the wind. We stopped in front of a massive mansion. It was huge, looking expensive and luxurious. "This is a dream for most people I know…" I thought. He suddenly grabbed my hand again and led me inside. The staff greeted him as we passed, and a guard opened the mansion's door for us. I kept silent until he dragged me into what I assumed was his bedroom. With a few quick moves, he handcuffed one of my hands to the bed. The bed was huge.

"What? What's this for? I'm not even going to try to escape! LET ME GO!" I shouted, feeling indignation boiling inside me. My palms were sweaty, my heart was pounding so hard it felt like its beats echoed through the room. I tried to mask my panic with yelling, but deep down, I already knew he had complete control of the situation.

He only gave a faint smirk, his eyes glinting briefly, and calmly left the room as if nothing had happened. His indifference only made the fear worse. I sat on the massive bed, feeling the cold handcuffs digging into my wrist, trying to suppress the overwhelming sense of helplessness.

A few minutes later, he returned. He held a book in his hands, which he casually tossed onto the bed beside me.

"Here's a book so you don't get bored staying here alone for too long," he said, his voice calm, almost indifferent, as if the situation was entirely normal to him.

"Why am I here?" I asked again, but my voice faltered, and I felt myself growing weaker from the fear.

"You're here just because… hmm… because I simply want you to be here," he said with a sly grin that sent a shiver down my spine. His sly smile was both captivating and terrifying at the same time. He turned his back to me and headed toward the door.

"Wait! Where are you going???" I exclaimed, almost shouting the words as if clinging to the last thread of hope.

"Business," he said curtly, not looking back, and left the room, leaving a cold silence in his wake.

The room fell silent again, broken only by the sound of my uneven breathing. Inside me, two emotions were battling: fear and anger. I felt like a bird in a cage—trapped, powerless, but filled with a quiet determination to find a way out.
