In her past life, the land had become desolate, and plants could no longer grow. The government had tried everything to save it, pouring resources into various initiatives, but the results were disappointing. The once-fertile soil had turned to dust, and the vibrant ecosystems that had thrived for generations were now mere memories.
Amidst the panic, the military camp stood apart. There was a woman with a unique ability, a special space where crops and food could flourish. Her ability made her one of the camp's most famous and trusted figures. Her words carried weight, and those in the military felt compelled to obey her.
Trixie had discovered the treasure in Willow Village—a bracelet that granted her access to a unique space capable of producing abundant crops. To the outside world, she was seen as a woman with two remarkable abilities, but only her family knew the true source of her power: the treasure itself. They leveraged this treasure to elevate their status within the military ranks, gaining respect and influence that set them apart from others.
For reasons unknown, Trixie orchestrated a scheme against Elena, placing a bounty on her head. The military would support anyone who captured Elena for life; she greatly emphasizes that she should be alive when captured. The military, swayed by Trixie's nonsense, haunted Elena relentlessly.
As Elena stared at Trixie, a cold glint flickered in her eyes, reflecting a manic expression. She wanted to hack this woman, to unleash her fury, but she held back.
The police were present, and she knew that Heaven's will was not loosen up yet. Each individual was protected by Heaven's will force, and she suspected that Trixie had somehow earned Heaven's favor.
Having spent ten years in the future, Elena possessed great knowledge. From the alien library, she had learned that Heaven closely monitored each world on the brink of a new cycle. Tests were given to defend the world using their abilities, and failure meant elimination.
Once Heaven loosened its grip, it would turn a blind eye to the happenings in the world, and the protective force would vanish. This force would then enter individuals, nourishing them and granting them new abilities.
As most beings in that world awakened, a new cycle would began. They were tasked with defending their world against distant threats, whether natural disasters or extraterrestrial beings.
But the sad reality was that in her past life, humanity had been divided and never united. In this life, she vowed never to trust humans again.
Never.
"Heather! Never point a finger at me again, or you will know your place."
Elena refused to utter their names; to her, they were all called Heathers. Speaking their names felt like blasphemy against those they had wronged in the past.
Trixie, humiliated by this unknown woman, felt her anger boiling.
"How dare you!" she exclaimed.
Elena stepped closer and slapped her with a force that sent Trixie crashing to the ground.
"I dare! You coveted my husband in front of me, trying to act self-righteous as if this was the new normal..... Should I thank you then?"
Gasps filled the air as everyone processed the shocking turn of events. They couldn't help but marvel at the power behind Elena's slap.
Ethan looked at his wife with profound emotion; the murderous aura she emitted was no joke as if she had been on a battlefield for years. This was the first time Elena had resorted to physical force. While he found it satisfying that his beloved wife was defending him, he couldn't shake the concern that gnawed at him.
"Drag this woman out of the camp," Ethan commanded.
As three police officers prepared to take action, Trixie glared at the couple who had humiliated her.
With a sinister smile, she taunted Elena, "Are you threatened? Do you think I can seduce your husband?"
Everyone stared at Trixie, appalled by her shamelessness. It was clear she had some screws loose.
Elena, now calm and devoid of bloodlust, looked at Trixie with a smile. "You? Heh, don't make me laugh. With your brainless bravado, do you really think you can threaten me? Who do you think you are?"
Trixie shot back, "Then let's fight fair."
Elena was speechless.
What did "fair" even mean? She was already married to her husband.
"Hahaha, stupid! The fight hasn't begun yet, but I've already won. Look at our wedding rings; we've vowed to each other."
Then she leaned in and kissed Ethan's cheek. "See that?"
Elena didn't want to engage in this childish game, but she wouldn't let Trixie sway the people around her.
Let her drown in envy.
Trixie, fueled by rage, broke free from the police and lunged at Elena.
Elena, quick to react, raised her leg and delivered a swift kick to Trixie.
"This is all self-defense. This woman is truly beyond saving."
Ethan's fury boiled over at Trixie's malicious attack.
"What are you doing? Get that woman out of here!" he shouted.
Just then, Marcus finished a meeting with General Kaiser and spotted the commotion in the distance. Instantly feeling uneasy, he rushed over to the mercenary team and watched the spectacle unfold.
"What are you guys doing? What happened, and why aren't you helping the young miss?" he demanded.
The mercenaries exchanged conflicted glances. "Boss, we want to stop her, but she won't listen. She's trying to covet someone else's husband, and when the wife showed up, things got heated."
"Then why aren't you helping her?" Marcus pressed.
"Boss, the young miss is... umm... she's kind of weird. She's forcing herself on someone."
"Damn it... Move!" Marcus ordered, striding toward Trixie and lifting her up. "Miss, let's go back."
He then turned to Elena. "You don't need to use force."
Elena glared at him. "Then leash your dog so she stops barking at the wrong house."
The onlookers were entertained by the unfolding drama, knowing it would provide a week's worth of juicy gossip.
Trixie raised her head weakly and hissed, "This is not over. I will have my revenge."
Elena smirked at her. "I agree. Be my guest."
Elena watched them leave, then turned to the abbot and General Kaiser, her expression serious.
"This is how the Heather family treats humans. They may show a gentle demeanor, but beneath that facade, they are worse than animals. You should be wary of them."
With that warning, Elena left, and it's up to them to decide whether to believe her.
