Just like that, Hayden's Ocularis Lens activated, analyzing her condition.
[ Subject: Professor Althea. Symptoms: Fatigue, pallor, irregular breathing. Possible cause: Iron deficiency or chronic fatigue. Recommendation: Immediate medical attention. ]
"Ahh…" Hayden hesitated as soon as he saw the results.
He wanted to help, but revealing his knowledge would risk exposing the Ocularis Lens. He studied the woman for a moment, trying to think of a way to assist her without drawing suspicion.
Of course, he wasn't surprised that the Lens knew the professor's name. A few days ago, he had passed through the academy's administrative building, where a massive organizational board displayed the hierarchy—from the Headmaster at the top to the Maintenance Workers at the bottom.
The Lens had taken less than a second to record that information.
As Hayden stood there, a classmate—Ava, the intriguing girl from his swordsmanship and other classes—approached him.
"Hayden," she called out, curiosity could be seen in her eyes as she noticed him staring at the forge.
Since he seemed particularly interested in the place, Ava realized this was a chance to strike up a conversation.
"What are you doing here? This is Professor Althea's workshop. Oh... She's one of the best blacksmiths in the city. Everyone says her weapons are exceptional—sought after by many Knight Candidates. Are you going to make a request or something?"
Indeed, all of her weapons were exquisite, considered some of the finest available below the True Aura Knight level.
'That's amazing…' Hayden's interest was piqued.
Many aspiring knights never advanced beyond this stage. If Professor Althea's skills were truly as remarkable as Ava claimed, then her weapons would be invaluable.
'If that's the case… helping her might be a good idea.' Hayden mused.
If Professor Althea was as skilled as Ava described, forming a connection with her could prove incredibly beneficial—both strategically and financially. After all, he didn't have much money. Even securing a discount on one of her weapons would be an advantage.
But first, he needed to help her—without revealing his secret.
Several plans immediately formed in his mind.
Hayden recalled his time with Dr. Elias Veyra and the medical knowledge he had gained under his guidance.
If he could convince Professor Althea to seek a diagnosis, he could use his connection to the renowned physician as a cover for his own observations.
"Ava," Hayden said in a low voice. "Does Professor Althea have a physician? She doesn't look well."
Ava frowned and glanced toward the hardworking professor. She didn't notice anything unusual, but Hayden wouldn't have asked without a reason.
"Hmm… I don't think so. She's always working. She looks pale, but I thought she was just naturally like that. Is she actually sick? Well, my older sisters always said she's pretty stubborn… Maybe she's too proud to ask for help."
Hayden nodded.
"I might know someone who can help her. But I'll need to talk to her first."
Ava raised an eyebrow. "Good luck with that. She's not exactly the friendly type."
With that, Ava left for the main training yard to watch the swordsmanship practice.
Hayden took a deep breath before stepping into the workshop. His footsteps echoed against the stone floor, catching Professor Althea's attention. She looked up, her sharp gaze locking onto him. Seeing a first-year student, her eyes narrowed slightly in confusion.
'Is he lost?'
"Who are you?" she asked, her voice also carried a hint of fatigue. "This isn't a place for young students to wander around."
Hayden bowed slightly, maintaining a respectful tone. If he wanted her to listen, he couldn't afford to be dismissed immediately.
"My apologies, Professor Althea. My name is Hayden Gray. I couldn't help but notice your work—it's truly impressive."
Professor Althea's expression softened slightly, though she still looked wary. "Flattery won't get you a free weapon, boy. What do you want?"
Hayden hesitated—or rather, he made sure to appear hesitant—before deciding to be direct.
"Actually, I'm concerned about your health. You don't look well, and I think you should see a physician."
Professor Althea's eyes narrowed. "I don't need a child telling me what to do. I'm fine."
Hayden pressed on, making sure his tone remained earnest.
"I understand, Professor. But I've studied under Dr. Elias Veyra, the famous physician from the capital. He taught me a lot about health and medicine. I can see signs of fatigue and pallor in you—it could be something serious."
Professor Althea paused, her grip on her hammer loosening slightly. She studied him carefully.
"Dr. Elias Veyra? You've studied under him?"
Hayden nodded. "Yes. He's a family friend. If you'd like, I could arrange for him to examine you. Or at the very least, I could share some of his advice."
Professor Althea exhaled deeply, setting her hammer down. Her shoulders slumped slightly, as if the weight of exhaustion had finally caught up with her.
"I suppose it wouldn't hurt to hear what you have to say. But if this is some kind of prank, you'll regret it."
Fortunately, Dr. Elias' reputation had reached even this place.
It was a good thing Hayden had formed such a connection before coming to the Academy.
He guided Professor Althea to a nearby bench, where she sat down with a soft groan.
"I need to check your pulse," Hayden said.
"Mhmm… Go ahead."
Carefully, he reached for her wrist and activated the Ocularis Lens discreetly, scanning her body for a more detailed assessment. At this close range, the Lens would be able to detect additional information.
Within moments, the results appeared before his eyes.

Hayden barely managed to keep his expression neutral.
