Chapter 1 - A Man Lived Between Reality and Hallucinations

Julian is a man in his late thirties who's been struggling with the traumatic loss of his family in a mysterious accident years ago. Ever since, he's been haunted by vivid hallucinations of his loved ones—his wife Emily and young daughter Sophie—who appear to him in moments of solitude. The catch is that Julian doesn't know if they're truly dead, or if his mind has created these visions as a coping mechanism for their loss.

It takes place in a quiet suburban neighborhood, now filled with an eerie silence, reflecting Julian's isolated life. The city feels both familiar and foreign to him, with the past constantly bleeding into the present through his hallucinations. His house is filled with photos, old items, and reminders of his family, which seem to trigger his memories and the apparitions.

Julian is a man who's lost his sense of purpose after the tragic accident. Once a loving father and husband, he's now consumed with grief and guilt. His days are filled with mundane tasks, but he constantly feels the presence of his loved ones—sometimes they'll appear in the corner of a room, or in moments when he's alone in a crowd. At first, he believes they're simply vivid memories, but over time, he starts to question whether they're real or if he's losing his mind.

Julian's hallucinations aren't typical. At first, his wife Emily simply smiles at him from across the room, or his daughter Sophie tugs at his sleeve and asks him to play. They appear at moments of deep emotional turmoil, offering him comfort, but with strange details that make him uneasy. Emily might say things like, "You didn't save us," or Sophie will ask, "Why did you leave us behind?" These unsettling remarks leave Julian questioning everything.

Sometimes, Julian tries to ignore the hallucinations, but they continue to haunt him, growing more vivid and intense. He starts to hear Emily's voice when no one's around, and sees Sophie in his peripheral vision, always looking at him as if they are waiting for him to remember something important.

Julian decides to retrace the events leading up to the accident, hoping that by confronting the past, he can understand what happened—and maybe even put an end to the hallucinations. But as he revisits the places where his family lived, the memories become distorted. He starts to find new clues—old photographs, letters, and items that he didn't remember keeping. He begins to suspect that the accident wasn't an accident at all, and that someone or something is manipulating his memories.

Each time Julian follows the hallucinations—chasing after the people he's lost—the boundary between his reality and the hallucinations blurs. He starts to experience the past as if it were happening in the present, reliving certain moments with his family. In these moments, he feels like he's with them again, but when he looks away, they vanish.

The deeper Julian goes into unraveling the truth, the more he discovers that his memories aren't as reliable as he thought. He uncovers disturbing details suggesting that he might have been involved in causing the accident without realizing it. What if the hallucinations aren't just his grief-driven mind at work but are tied to something darker—something he's subconsciously trying to forget? Perhaps he was the one driving the car when the crash happened. Or maybe the accident was part of a larger conspiracy, and his family's death was not an accident at all.

The hallucinations of Emily and Sophie become more desperate, their faces reflecting a mix of love and accusation. Julian is forced to confront his own role in their death. But, in the end, the truth might not be as simple as he thinks: Was the accident truly his fault, or was it manipulated to make him believe that?

Julian finally uncovers the full truth, realizing that the hallucinations were trying to show him something he refused to acknowledge—the truth behind the accident, the guilt he's carried all these years, and how his mind has been warped by trauma. The final question remains: Is the world around him real, or is it just one last illusion his mind is holding onto to avoid the final truth?
