Paige Stevens
Hours passed with her silent, shrugging, nodding and shaking her head when the need arose. It was a slog, not a single word entering her mind until they were on the final cleaning session.
"No word from Drake?" Jin asked.
"Oh, I didn't tell you? He was at the docks."
"Has he been doing that a lot?"
"Sort of."
"And you let him?"
"He's twice my size, literally. He could fold me like an envelope."
"Raah!" Jin jumped, fist raised.
Paige simply raised an eyebrow, the constant shush of her broom never slowing.
"See, bullshit, you're stronger than either of us… But... I'm a little mad at him. I can't believe he left you here."
She pulled a face.
"You're dumb but… I'm fine."
"Yo Paige."
"Yeah?"
"Glad to hear it."
She smiled.
"No, you gonna tell me what happened?"
"No,"
"Come on! Talk woman!"
"No."
Jin grinned, putting away cleaning equipment. She looked away, wracking her brain for what was the best response to their game. He couldn't find out about the beating and… everything. She'd never live with herself, not after his reaction with just the desk incident. His first day back might have had him thrown in prison.
