Chapter 12 - Chapter 12: Taking Care of Him

Su Jin woke up to a deep kiss from Luo Xian. The moment her eyes fluttered open, she found herself staring into his mesmerizing emerald-green eyes. Before she could react, she noticed his crisp white shirt and perfectly tailored black slacks exuding a lethal charm. Meanwhile, she was still clad in his oversized white shirt—an unintentional intimacy that made her heart race.

"Time to eat," Luo Xian said matter-of-factly. "After dinner, you can go back to sleep."

Su Jin nodded, but a strange sensation lingered. Her body felt fresh and… clean. Before she could question it, Luo Xian casually added, "Oh, you passed out earlier, and since I needed a shower anyway, I took the liberty of bathing you too."

Her face turned scarlet. The man said it so nonchalantly, as if it were the most normal thing in the world.

Luo Xian carried her effortlessly to the dining room, where a lavish meal was already set on the table. But that wasn't the end of the surprises. Su Jin's eyes widened as she noticed dozens of people standing respectfully nearby, awaiting instructions.

Placing her in the seat closest to him, Luo Xian announced, "From today onward, she is the mistress of this house."

"Yes, Madam," came the unified, resounding response from the staff.

Su Jin's cheeks flushed an even deeper red. But before she could process the gravity of his declaration, Luo Xian turned to her with a deadpan expression. "Can you cook? Clean? Iron clothes?"

Caught off guard, Su Jin nodded hesitantly. "Yes, I can…"

Luo Xian smirked. "Good. From now on, no one is allowed into my room without my permission. My clothes, once washed, will be handed directly to her for ironing. Meals, if we're eating at home, will also be prepared by her. Coffee? She'll make it. Understood?"

The staff exchanged bewildered glances but quickly bowed their heads. "Understood, Master."

Su Jin could barely contain her disbelief. This man actually expected her to personally handle all his needs? Was he serious?

Luo Xian's gaze returned to her, his tone softening. "Wife, I'll leave my care in your capable hands."

Grinding her teeth, Su Jin shot him a glare. "Got it."

But Luo Xian wasn't done. He leaned closer, his voice playful. "If you understand, why haven't you started yet?"

"Started what?" she asked, genuinely confused.

"Feeding me."

Her hands trembled with indignation. This was too much! Clenching her fists, she snapped, "Can't you feed yourself? You're a grown man!"

Unfazed, Luo Xian's emerald eyes bore into hers. "Are you shirking your duties already? Fine, then. I'll just keep you 'resting' in bed for a month. Don't worry; I'll make sure you can't get up for a solid thirty days."

Su Jin's face turned crimson. Was he seriously threatening her with such blatant shamelessness? And in front of so many people! This man had no sense of propriety.

Swallowing her pride, she muttered, "Fine. What do you want to eat?"

"Soup."

And so began the most humiliating dinner of Su Jin's life. Every spoonful of soup or bite of food she fed him was followed by Luo Xian's deliberate counter-move: he would scoop up something and feed it to her in return. The intimate exchange left her utterly mortified, especially under the watchful eyes of the staff.

When the meal finally ended, Su Jin let out a long sigh of relief. Her cheeks still burned with embarrassment, but the ordeal was over—for now.

Pouting, she muttered under her breath, "Childish."

Luo Xian heard her and smirked. "Only for you."

Her heart skipped a beat, leaving her speechless. She quickly looked away to hide the faint blush creeping up her neck.

Later that evening, Luo Xian left for his study, leaving Su Jin behind to learn from the staff about his daily preferences. To her surprise, she discovered that he wasn't the high-maintenance tyrant she'd imagined. In fact, his requirements were shockingly simple.

His room only needed light cleaning at set times, and his clothes—custom-made and regularly delivered—required strict care, including disinfecting and ironing. The house temperature was always maintained at a comfortable level, and the hot water supply was endless. As for meals, Luo Xian wasn't picky at all. He rarely allowed anyone to disturb him, preferring to prepare his own coffee and snacks when working late.

By all accounts, he was the epitome of self-sufficiency. Yet, when it came to her, he became an entirely different person.

When Su Jin brought him coffee later that night, she found herself pulled into his embrace the moment she entered his study. Her body was snug against his as he continued reviewing documents.

"Luo Xian, what are you doing?" she demanded, wriggling in his arms.

He planted a firm kiss on her cheek, smirking. "Holding you."

Frustrated, she protested, "Why on earth are you holding me while you work?"

Without looking up, he replied, "Because it's comfortable. Reading these files is exhausting, but holding you makes it bearable."

She huffed. "I'm not a pillow! Let me go! I still have to iron your clothes. You don't want me slacking off, do you?"

Luo Xian's grip tightened slightly. "No need. Your current job is being my pillow. Neglect your duties, and you know what will happen."

Su Jin froze, her mind flashing back to his earlier threat. The mischievous glint in his eyes sent a shiver down her spine. Reluctantly, she settled into his arms, muttering, "You're impossible."

He chuckled. "If you think this is bad, shall we move to the bed so I can show you just how 'impossible' I can be?"

Her face turned beet red. "Shameless!"

Tracing her lips with his finger, he whispered, "Quiet now. Be a good pillow. Let me finish this, and then we can… take a shower together."

Su Jin's heart raced uncontrollably. "You… you…"

But Luo Xian had already turned his attention back to his documents, his expression calm but the corner of his mouth curved in a knowing smile. His arm remained firmly around her waist, holding her close.

Despite her best efforts to stay composed, Su Jin eventually gave up struggling. Every move only brought his warning to mind, and she wasn't about to tempt fate. Resigned, she buried her face in his chest, trying to ignore the rapid thudding of her own heart as he calmly worked, his grip on her unwavering.
