Chapter 61 - The Eternal Rival Returns

The very air around us shuddered, as if reality itself recognized the magnitude of our clash. The moment I spoke those words—

"Heaven's Wing."

The man before me paused.

For the first time, his smirk faltered. His emerald eyes, identical to mine, widened just slightly.

A slow chuckle rumbled from his throat before it grew into a full, booming laugh.

"Hah… HAHAHA! So, you finally recognize me?"

He spread his arms wide, the remnants of his tattered robe flaring behind him like wings of shadow.

"It took you long enough, my old friend."

Two Sides of the Same Coin

I wiped the blood from my lips and grinned wildly.

"To think I'd find you here, in this world. But I should've known—" My fists tightened, my entire body thrumming with excitement. "Only you could take my strongest attack head-on and still stand there laughing."

Heaven's Wing smirked, his eyes burning with a familiar, unbreakable resolve.

Heaven's Wing smirked, his eyes burning with a familiar, unbreakable resolve.

"You sound surprised, Heavenly Demon. Did you really think you'd walk this path without me?"

I let out a deep, satisfied exhale. "No. I suppose not."

Because in every life, in every battle—we were destined to collide.

Heaven's Wing. My eternal rival. My equal. The only man who could ever push me to my absolute limits.

And now?

He was standing before me again, alive, powerful, and ready to fight.

The air crackled with sheer energy. The crowd was silent. There were no more interruptions, no more distractions.

Only the two of us.

Two warriors. Two monsters. Two kings.

Heaven's Wing rolled his shoulders, his aura flaring to its peak, golden and pure, clashing against the abyssal storm that surrounded me.

"Shall we dance?" he asked, extending his hand, beckoning me forward.

I grinned viciously.

"Don't hold back, old friend."

The very fabric of reality trembled as we clashed.

The air around us distorted, torn apart by the sheer force of our strikes. The ground beneath us shattered into floating debris, weightless from the sheer energy radiating from our bodies.

I vanished from sight, reappearing behind him in an instant.

"Too slow!" I growled, driving my knee into his spine with bone-crushing force.

BOOM!

Heaven's Wing's body exploded forward, slamming through a mountain of debris. But before he could even recover, I was already above him, my foot descending like the wrath of a god.

I grinned, wiping the blood from my mouth. "Not bad. But let's see how you handle this—"

Breath of Destruction.

The very air ignited as I unleashed my abyssal breath, the black and crimson flames devouring everything in their path. The sky itself was torn apart, creating a massive rift in the battlefield.

There was no escape.

But Heaven's Wing just smiled.

As the flames roared toward him, his entire body erupted in golden energy.

His aura was pure, divine, unyielding.

Then, he did the impossible.

He walked through my flames.

"Is that all, Demon?" His voice cut through the destruction.

I barely had time to react before he vanished.

A fraction of a second later, his fist collided with my jaw.

CRACK!

My entire body was sent spiraling through the sky, my bones groaning under the sheer force. But before I could crash into the ground, he appeared above me, his hands clasped together.

And then—

"Heaven's Judgment!"

A single punch.

A punch that erased the sky itself.

BOOOOOM!

The impact was so great that an entire continent below us collapsed.

I slammed into the ruins, the shockwave erasing everything within miles.

For a moment, there was silence.

And then—

I laughed.

From the crater, I slowly rose to my feet, my bones snapping back into place.

I grinned viciously.

"Now we're talking."

We both stood there, our bodies broken, yet stronger than ever.

The battlefield was unrecognizable.

What was once a vast, towering landscape had been reduced to nothing but floating debris, drifting aimlessly in the void. The very sky was torn apart, leaving behind a swirling abyss of energy.

Our fists collided one last time—

BOOOOM!

The sheer force of the impact sent shockwaves.

Both of us were gasping for air, our bodies bruised, battered, and bleeding.

Yet neither of us fell.

We simply stood there, fists still pressed against each other, smirking.

Heaven's Wing exhaled, rolling his shoulders as if shaking off the pain. "Damn… it's been a while since I actually had to try."

I chuckled, spitting out a bit of blood. "Yeah? Well, try harder next time, buddy."

He scoffed. "Next time? You say that as if this fight isn't still going on."

I clenched my fist again, feeling the raw energy still coursing through my veins. He was right.

I nodded. "It never is."

He smirked. "Good. Because next time… I'm gonna put you down for good."

I returned his smirk. "I'd like to see you try."

With that, he turned around, his golden aura slowly fading as he walked away.

And I?

I simply stood there, watching as my greatest rival, my eternal equal, disappeared into the horizon.

This wasn't the end not even close. It was just another chapter in a never-ending war.
