Chapter 54 - The Battle for the Demon’s Citadel – Clash of Titans

The air crackled with dark energy. The Citadel's towering spires pulsed with eerie red veins, the entire fortress alive with ancient malice.

From atop the high balcony, the Demon Lord descended in a blur of shifting shadows, landing with a deafening BOOM.

The sheer force of his presence shattered the cracked ground beneath him. His six burning eyes fixated on me, his lips twisting into a cruel smirk.

"You're bold, Heavenly Demon," he mused, his voice like an eerie whisper carried by the abyss itself. "Walking into my Citadel alone? Either you're fearless—" his clawed fingers flexed, "or a fool."

I rolled my shoulders, my emerald-green eyes gleaming with anticipation.

"I don't see a king," I said, cracking my knuckles, my voice carrying raw dominance. "Just another corpse waiting to fall at my feet."

The Demon Lord's smirk widened.

"Then let's see if your arrogance is earned."

BOOM!

In a blink, he vanished.

Before I could react, a devastating force slammed into my ribs, sending me skidding backward, my boots tearing through the stone floor like it was sand.

I barely had a second to recover before—

CRACK!

A massive clawed fist drove into my stomach, the impact warping the air around us as I was sent hurtling through a pillar, shattering it into dust.

The Citadel trembled.

I coughed, wiping the blood from my lip as I stood.

"Fast." I smirked, tilting my head. "But I've fought worse."

The Demon Lord let out a dark chuckle, his six eyes blazing.

"I wonder how long that confidence will last."

He lunged again.

This time, I was ready.

I activated Void Step—disappearing just before impact.

Reappearing behind him, I drove my elbow into the base of his skull.

CRACK!

He stumbled, but not before spinning mid-air, his tail whipping toward me like a blade.

I barely had time to raise my gauntlets before—

BOOM!

The force of the strike sent me crashing through another wall.

Dust and debris filled the air, but I emerged—unscathed.

"You hit like a child." I smirked, rolling my shoulders.

The Demon Lord's amusement vanished.

"Then let's stop playing."

He raised his clawed hand, dark energy swirling violently as a black spear of pure void energy formed in his grasp.

The moment he launched it—

I activated Dragon Fear.

A wave of pure, crushing dominance erupted from me. The entire battlefield trembled as the air itself seemed to buckle under my presence.

For a fraction of a second—the Demon Lord hesitated.

That was all I needed.

I charged.

BOOM!

I shattered the sound barrier, appearing in front of him in an instant.

Before he could react—

I grabbed his face and slammed him into the ground with monstrous force.

The impact was so powerful that the entire Citadel shook, massive cracks spiderwebbing across the battlefield.

I didn't stop.

Before he could move, I grabbed his horns, wrenching his head back—then drove my knee straight into his jaw.

CRACK!

His six eyes widened, his form trembling from the sheer force.

I twisted my grip, hurling him into the air before—

I unleashed Breath of Destruction.

A massive wave of annihilating black flames erupted from my mouth, engulfing the Demon Lord mid-air.

"AAAAAGGHHH!!!"

His agonized screams echoed as the dark fire burned straight through his demonic essence.

When the flames finally faded, he collapsed to the ground, twitching—barely alive.

I walked toward him, my steps slow, deliberate.

He tried to lift his head, coughing blackened blood.

"W-Who… what are you…?" he choked, his voice weak.

I crouched beside him, gripping his jaw so he had no choice but to look into my eyes.

"I am Samuel Gebb."

My grip tightened.

"I am the Heavenly Demon."

With that—I crushed his skull in my palm.

The Citadel fell into silence.

Then—

A new voice echoed from the shadows.

"Interesting."

I turned.

The second Demon Lord had arrived.

And he was smiling.

The second Demon Lord stood across from me, his crimson eyes gleaming with amusement. His massive form, draped in shifting black armor, pulsed with a sinister energy. Unlike the last one, he wasn't rushing in blindly.

"Interesting," he murmured, rolling his shoulders. "You're not just strong. You're brutal."

I wiped the blood off my gauntlets and stepped forward. "And you're about to be next."

The Demon Lord let out a deep, echoing laugh.

"Very well, Heavenly Demon. Show me how much destruction you can bring."

The ground beneath us cracked and shattered as the Demon Lord vanished in an instant.

BOOM!

His clawed fist slammed into my side, sending a shockwave that shattered nearby pillars. The force of the impact sent me skidding backward, my boots carving deep trenches in the ground.

But before he could press the attack—

I activated Void Step.

In a blur of motion, I reappeared behind him.

"Too slow."

I drove my knee into his spine.

CRACK!

He stumbled forward, coughing dark blood.

I didn't give him time to recover.

I grabbed him by the neck—lifted him off the ground—then slammed him into the floor with monstrous force.

BOOM!

The entire battlefield shook.

The Demon Lord roared in frustration, spinning mid-air, his tail slashing toward me like a whip lined with razors.

I barely dodged—

But his other clawed hand caught my side, tearing through my shirt, drawing blood.

I grinned. "Not bad."

The Demon Lord grinned back.

"I'm just getting started."

He raised his hands—a crimson sigil forming in the air.

The moment I saw it, I recognized the spell.

"Demonic Chains of the Abyss."

Dark chains erupted from the ground, wrapping around my arms, my legs—tightening like living serpents.

I snarled, feeling them burn against my skin.

The Demon Lord smirked. "Let's see how you fight when you can't move."

I chuckled darkly.

"You really think chains can hold me?"

I flexed my arms—

BOOM!

The chains shattered into dust.

The Demon Lord's eyes widened in shock.

I disappeared—

Reappearing above him.

"I'll show you how it's done."

Breath of Destruction.

A massive wave of black flames erupted from my mouth, engulfing him completely.

"AAAAARGHHH!!!"

His screams echoed as the demonic fire burned through his body.

When the flames faded, he was barely standing.

His body was charred, his armor cracking apart.

But still—he refused to fall.

He looked at me, panting.

"You… you really are a monster."

I walked toward him, my emerald-green eyes glowing with merciless authority.

"No."

I grabbed his skull with one hand.

"I am Death itself."

With one final twist—

CRACK.

His body went limp.

I let him fall.

Silence filled the battlefield.

Then—the System notification popped up.

I stared at the notification.
