Flashback
Sarah informed Kaizen that the leader went alone into the dungeon. She is worried about any potential dangers and is asking Kaizen for assistance.
" Leader has gone into the dungeon alone,
"I'm afraid something might happen to her . "
But this is just a Tier B dungeon, right? The leader should be fine. Don't worry, our leader is strong, isn't ? She'll come out soon enough."
After an hour, Emma still hadn't come out, and Sarah was starting to worry. Kaizen, who was watching, felt uneasy. He stood up and reassured Sarah, "I'll go in. You wait here. I'll make sure she's safe. Don't worry, stay calm, okay?"
Kaizen entered the dungeon empty-handed, his face still sleepy. "This dungeon is near a swamp, isn't it supposed to be a cave?" Kaizen thought it might be an error. As he walked further to search for Emma, he suddenly heard a loud cracking sound from the ground.
Kaizen quickly headed toward the sound and saw Emma fighting a giant snake. "What a sight, another fight. Maybe I should just watch," he thought. Kaizen climbed a tree near the swamp and observed their battle from above.
While he was casually watching the fight, he suddenly heard voices talking below him.
"What should we do? Kill her now or later? Let's be patient. We'll wait until she finishes fighting the snake, and then we'll take both rewards."
"But our job here is only to kill Emma. If we mess this up, our client will be angry ."
"Relax, even if it takes a while, no one's going to ambush us from behind. Don't be so scared, this is an easy job."
"Does that third person mean someone like me?" Kaizen held them up from behind. "How about we continue this conversation? Seems like you're having a lot of fun with this plan."
The two of them quickly broke free from Kaizen. "Who is this guy? How come we couldn't detect anyone here? He must be of a higher rank than us."
"Relax, don't run. I just want to hear your story. Don't be scared. Killing someone from behind sounds fun, but it also seems a bit cowardly, doesn't it?"
The two assassins split up to attack Kaizen from both sides. Their daggers simultaneously aimed for Kaizen's eyes. However, just an inch before reaching his eyes, time seemed to slow down.
"Looks like I'll have to lend my body to my other self." Kaizen's demeanor changed drastically, his eyes turning pink. Just before the daggers reached his eyes, he grabbed both assassins' wrists, stopping them in their tracks.
"This stupid boy always summons me when he's about to die. So, what do we have here? Two people trying to kill him?"
System Error: Owner of this body missing. Another soul has entered the body. All skills unlocked.
Suddenly, something fell on their bodies, and it looked like a bomb. The bomb released smoke, and the assassins quickly fled into the forest, which would give them an advantage.
"Why did they run? Maybe they want to play hide and seek. What weapon should I use today? A pistol might work. System, craft a Desert Eagle.
Crafting Desert Eagle in progress... Craft complete. Desert Eagle with .50 AE ammunition ready.
"So, should we play right now?" Kaizen slowly entered the forest. "Where are they hiding? Maybe behind that tree." He fired a shot toward the tree, but no one was there. However, one of them was actually beside the tree . They began to feel scared, as if they were being toyed with.
One of them planned to act as bait while the other would ambush from behind. One of the assassins tried to throw something to distract Kaizen, but before they could move, a shot was fired in their direction. He attempted to dodge but got hit in the leg.
"Taking too long to think, huh? I'm getting really bored. Hide better this time—I'll give you 5 seconds to move. 1... 2... 3... 4... 5. Good luck."
They were forced to hide because they were too terrified. This was the first time they were being hunted—usually, they were the ones hunting their prey. Fear overwhelmed them to the point where they held their breath, hoping Kaizen wouldn't hear them.
One of them couldn't take it anymore and urged their friend to leave. "Just go, I can't do this anymore. Make sure you're safe—hide as long as you can until this dungeon boss dies and then escape quickly. I'll delay him as much as I can, so just go..."
Bang!!
Kaizen's shot hit the other assassin.
* Clap clap clap *. "How sweet, but it feels weird when a villain tries to be good and save their friend. Also I'm sorry, I'm tired, so let's end it here, okay?"
He shot both of them brutally in the head. Blood splattered everywhere. Unknowingly, Kaizen found himself in a part of the forest filled with monsters.
"Another burden I have to kill again for that stupid woman. She's lucky she's loved by him—otherwise, I would've let her become a corpse."
On his way back, Kaizen carried the two assassins' heads and hung them on a tree. "How intense, she's still fighting? I should've brought some meat and had a BBQ here earlier."
The final moment of her fight—wow, she won, but she looked like she was about to die. "It's your time to take over, bro.
She seems to be struggling. My work ends here." Kaizen switched back to normal.

The scene shifted to a hospital. Emma had been successfully saved, and Sarah felt an overwhelming sense of relief.
Sarah called Kaizen to let him know that Emma was safe. "Okay, good. Please take care of her," he said before going back to sleep.
After 10 hours, it was Kaizen's turn to watch over Emma at the hospital. "How is she, Sarah? Has she woken up, or is she still sleeping?"
"She's still sleeping. She might wake up later once the anesthesia wears off. Thanks for being willing to take over and watch her for a while. My family suddenly called me because of an unavoidable issue."
"Okay, no problem. Just settle your problem. I will take care of Emma. Safe travels."
"They waved at each other. Kaizen sat on the sofa in the ward room. Emma, I know you're awake—no need to pretend to be asleep."
"There is food on the table. Don't forget to eat, and get well soon so Sarah won't have to worry anymore."
"Emma tried to sit up, but she couldn't manage it. Her body was still very weak. She needed Kaizen's help."
"Kaizen, even though he was egoistic, still helped her. 'Wait, let me open the food for you. Just sit there.' After opening the food, Kaizen took a spoon and tried to feed Emma."
"Emma ate slowly. After eating, as usual, Kaizen tried to sleep. Emma held his hand and asked him to sleep on the bed since it was spacious."
"Kaizen, without hesitation, lay down on the bed with Emma. 'This VVIP bed is so soft. How about you buy one for my house so I can sleep soundly?'
Emma laughed. 'You can sleep soundly anywhere. I'm supposed to be dead in the dungeon . Did someone save me?'"
"We found you because you were so late in the dungeon. Luckily, the rescue team worked very quickly. We saw you lying on the ground.
You're not lying, are you?
Kaizen nodded.
Forget it. but now I'm hungry, Emma. Can I borrow your card? My salary is gone because I bought a Yui figure—the price was expensive."
"You've bought so many of her items, but you've never bought any of my merchandise. I feel jealous. Here, take this card. Buy food, don't buy random things."
"Hahaha, I see you every day, but I've been her fan since high school. Thank you," he said while taking the card. "I'll go now. Later, I'll buy your favorite food too."
"Kaizen left the room.
Why did you lie to me? I know it was only you who saved me yesterday . But did he hear what I confessed ? I hope he didn't hear it." Emma's cheeks turned red as she hugged a pillow.
