Dajjal (الدجّال) is an Arabic word meaning "deceiver" or "imposter." In Islamic eschatology, Al-Masih ad-Dajjal (The False Messiah) is a major figure who will emerge near the end of times as a great deceiver, spreading falsehood and tribulations (fitnah) that will challenge the faith of many. The Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) warned about Dajjal in numerous hadiths, describing him as a figure who will mislead people with false miracles, false claims of divinity, and immense worldly power.
The Deception and Tribulations of Dajjal
The arrival of the Dajjal is considered one of the greatest tests for humankind. He will create confusion, manipulate truth, and mislead people by:
Claiming to be divine, demanding worship.Performing false miracles to deceive people. Creating economic control, giving wealth and prosperity to his followers while depriving those who reject him.Spreading chaos, injustice, and falsehood across the world.Using media, propaganda, and deception to mislead people into believing in him. The Supporters of Dajjal
The followers of the Dajjal will play a major role in spreading his falsehood. Islamic teachings indicate that his supporters will include:
People of influence and power – Those who seek personal gain, authority, and wealth by aligning with Dajjal's deceptive rule. Conflict-mongers – Individuals who create divisions and chaos in society. Immoral and faithless individuals – Those who indulge in materialism, deception, and dishonesty. A large number of women – According to some narrations, many of Dajjal's followers will be women due to his ability to manipulate emotions and societal influence. Weak-hearted believers – Those whose faith is not strong and who fall into deception due to their desires and lack of religious knowledge.
Supporting Dajjal is not just an act of misguidance, but a severe sin in Islam. It means aligning with falsehood, oppression, and rebellion against Allah's commandments.
