Time passed. Days turned into weeks, then months.
Luciel—no, just "Luc" now—had fully adapted to his new life.
He was no longer a demon prince. No longer the heir of darkness. No longer a lost outsider.
He was just a normal guy working at a restaurant.
From Dishwasher to Cashier
At first, he had only washed dishes, but over time, Takeshi noticed that Luc was sharp, observant, and surprisingly good at reading people.
One day, Takeshi tossed him an apron and pointed at the cash register.
"Alright, kid. You're a cashier now."
Luc raised an eyebrow. "Why?"
"Because you don't screw up orders like the last idiot I hired."
And so, just like that, Luc became the face of the restaurant.
At first, it was awkward. Speaking to so many people, handling money, smiling at customers—it was all new to him.
But soon, he got used to it.
And, to his surprise… he enjoyed it.
He picked up human humor. Learned how to joke with customers. He even teased Takeshi back, much to the man's annoyance.
One time, a rude customer yelled at him for giving the wrong change.
Luc simply tilted his head and said, "Ah, my mistake. You must be royalty, the way you demand such perfection."
Takeshi nearly choked laughing.
Luc never got yelled at again.
A Place to Call Home
After a few months, Takeshi helped him find a small apartment.
It wasn't much—just a single room, a tiny kitchen, and a view of the alley. But it was his.
A place to sleep. A place to eat. A place to belong.
For the first time, Luc felt at peace.
No battles. No bloodshed. No politics. Just work, food, and the occasional stupid joke with Takeshi.
He wasn't Luciel, the Demon Prince.
He was Luc, the cashier.
And that was enough.
Or at least… he thought so.
Because soon, his past would come knocking.
