The morning light crept slowly into the room, illuminating the peaceful scene within. The birds outside the window chirped their sweet melodies, a gentle chorus that seemed to match the rhythm of the sun's ascent. It was as if the sun itself was reluctant to rise, slowly making its way above the horizon, casting a warm glow over the landscape.
In the midst of this serene atmosphere, a figure lay motionless on the bed. At first glance, it might have been easy to overlook him, but upon closer inspection, it became clear that this was no ordinary person. He was quite tall, with a lean, athletic build that spoke to his years of military expedition.
His skin was pale, a testament to the many months he had spent in the harsh, unforgiving environment of the battlefield. His hair was a rich, dark brown, and it lay mussed and unkempt across his forehead.
But it was the scar that truly set him apart. A thin, jagged line that ran vertically from his forehead, down through his left eye, and all the way to his chin. It was a battle scar, a reminder of the many dangers he had faced and the sacrifices he had made.
This was Sunny, the soldier, the warrior, the man who had seen and experienced things that most people could only imagine. And yet, as he lay there on the bed, fast asleep, he looked almost... peaceful.
His chest rose and fell with a slow, steady rhythm, and his face was relaxed, free from the tension and stress that had become so familiar to him. It was as if, in sleep, he had finally found a measure of peace, a respite from the trials and tribulations that had defined his life for so long.
As the sun continued its slow ascent, casting a warm glow over the room, Sunny slept on, oblivious to the world around him. But even in sleep, his presence seemed to fill the room, a reminder of the strength and resilience that lay within him.
Sunny's peaceful slumber was disrupted by a knock at the door. He lazily opened one eye, sitting up in bed with a groggy expression. "Who's there?" he asked, his voice husky with sleep.
Although he knew it was only his mom, Alex, and himself in the house, he still had to ask. It was a habit he had developed over the years, a reflex that kicked in whenever he heard a knock or a strange noise.
"It's me, Alex," a voice spoke from the other side of the door. "Someone is waiting for you."
Sunny was startled. Who could be calling his attention? He couldn't remember any of his friends who would ask for him. He hadn't been in touch with many people since he joined the military, and he didn't expect anyone to come looking for him.
But then, he heard a familiar voice, one that sent a shiver down his spine.
"Little Yellow, I know you're there! Wake up and meet Big Uncle!"
Sunny's eyes snapped open, and he sat up in bed with a jolt. Oh no, he thought, his mind racing. Little Yellow had been his nickname since he was a child, a name that only a handful of people knew. He had gotten it because his first word as a child was "yellow", and it had stuck with him ever since.
But then he heard the voice again, and this time, he recognized it. It was his uncle, his mother's brother. Sunny had grown up calling him "Big Uncle", and he had always looked up to him with a mix of respect and admiration.
As Sunny prepared to leave his room and meet his uncle, he suddenly felt a nagging sense of forgetfulness. He had had a dream, he was certain of it, but no matter how hard he tried, he couldn't remember what it was about.
He stood there, frozen in the doorway, trying to recall even the smallest detail of the dream. But his mind was a complete blank. It was as if the dream had vanished into thin air, leaving behind only a faint sense of unease.
Sunny's frustration grew as he tried to remember. He knew that he had to recall the dream, but his mind seemed to be working against him. He couldn't shake the feeling that the dream was important, that it held some hidden message or warning.
But no matter how hard he tried, the dream remained elusive. Sunny finally gave up, deciding to focus on the present moment and the unexpected visit from his uncle.
With a sense of resignation, Sunny left his room and headed towards the living room, where his uncle was waiting for him. As he walked, he couldn't shake the feeling that he was forgetting something important, something that was just out of reach.
"Big Uncle," he said, as he entered the living room, trying to push the forgotten dream to the back of his mind. But the nagging sense of forgetfulness lingered, refusing to be ignored.
As Sunny entered the living room, his uncle's eyes lit up with a warm smile. "Look who's almost as tall as me now, eh?" he exclaimed, opening his arms wide for a hug.
Sunny's face remained straight, but he couldn't help feeling a little embarrassed by the display of affection. He glanced over at Alex, who was giggling in the corner, clearly enjoying the spectacle.
"Come on, hug me! Didn't you miss me?" his uncle asked, his voice booming through the room.
Sunny hesitated for a moment before stepping forward to hug his uncle. His uncle wrapped his arms around him, holding him tightly for a moment before releasing him.
"Little Yellow, I have to raise my hand to pat your hair, uh?" his uncle said, chuckling as he reached up to ruffle Sunny's hair.
Sunny coughed in embarrassment, feeling his face grow hot with embarrassment. He glanced over at his mom, who was beaming with pride, seemingly oblivious to the awkwardness of the moment.
After releasing Sunny from his grip, his uncle turned to Sunny's mom and asked, "What's for breakfast, fast?" His voice was gruff, but his eyes twinkled with warmth, and Sunny could tell that he was genuinely happy to be there.
Sunny's mom smiled, her eyes shining with warmth. "I was thinking of making some pancakes and scrambled eggs," she said, already heading towards the kitchen to start cooking.
Sunny's uncle nodded, his stomach growling in anticipation. "Sounds great, sis. I'm starving!" he exclaimed, following Sunny's mom into the kitchen.
As they disappeared into the kitchen, Sunny turned to Alex, who was still giggling in the corner. "Shut up," Sunny said, trying to sound stern, but unable to hide the smile that was spreading across his face.
