Chapter 1 - Chapter 0: Kibou Arisu

The man in a long black coat and a hat stood at the bridge, overlooking the river, the sunset glittering over the waters. He adjusted his round black glasses and smiled with a cigar in his mouth.

He raised his hand and a raven came and landed on it.

"Tell me" he said, "what kind of a man he is?"

The raven started to speak.

Kibou was an antisocial introvert.

He kept to himself, mostly at home, and once in a while we went to his classes for computer science majors, just to show his face, for attendance. He didn't talk to anyone, had no friends and avoided anyone trying to get too close. He actively prefered staying alone.

His father stayed out of town, visiting once in a month, his mother died when he was young and now he lived alone in a small house in the east of the town, cooking his own food, which he was exceptionally good at but no one knew, and played video games, watched movies, read books and coded, a lot. Infact despite avoiding attention and being conserved, he was quite know in his college for being a genius at coding. He provided notes once in a while, which the students shared among themselves, this being his only interaction with any student at all. The teachers spared his low attendance because of his prowess in computer science and coding. He even earned money through freelancing, gave his codes in return of money. He was brilliant at a young age.

That was all his life, not much to it. Many in his college thought he was arrogant for being smart, some were jealous, but he just liked being to himself, his fiction, food and his codes.

Messy long hair, slightly overweight and almost always in a black hoodie, this was the life of Kibou Arisu.

"Fascinating" said the man.

"I am sorry Master Rain but I honestly can't see why you chose someone like him as the warrior" said the raven, a doubt and slight irritation in his voice, "We have much better choices, we have Kane, why choose this fat self centred lowlife? What's so special about him?"

"Easy Quale" said the man.

"I am sorry Master" said the raven, lowering his head, "but this is just... Absurd"

The man sighed and smiled but didn't say anything for a while, and then, as the sun set and the night darkned, he said, "Time will answer that"

He pulled out his phone, asked the raven for his number, types and pressed the call button, putting the phone to his ears, a serene smile on his face, looking at the darkening sky.
