The sound of crackling fire and marching footsteps grow closer. The floor of the compound reverberates under the pressure of the hundreds of soldiers' metal boots.
Pes hears a loud commanding voice. "Raze the farms, Slaughter the animals! Leave nothing to see here."
"Shit", Pes looks down at his son, shivering in the corner of the compound's safe room.
"Everything will be okay Diatmass, I won't let him hurt you," he says to him.
Pes looks outside through summoning his lookout eagle. He sees soldiers in white armor, some throwing fireballs at his vegetation, others driving swords through the livestock. He then spots the commander, Azrreal.
"Looks like he came to finally shut me up," Pes looks over at the shaking Diatmass. He walks over to him and pats his head.
"You have to be strong for me, son. We both-"
A large bang could be heard, followed by the sound of broken wood. Azrreal had broken through the door.
"Come out Shovure! Don't be scared now" Azrreal hisses as he walks down the long hallway, peeking through every door.
Pes stands, a crack in his courageous demeanor shows a hint of uncertainty. With a big gulp, he clasps his hands together in a praying motion.
His eyes begin to glow and he levitates a few feet in the air, "Epsphinium!" He says out loud. After a second, a dark portal-looking void forms beside him.
BANG!
"I found you Shovure, time to show you the wrath of my ancestors"
Pes puts himself between Diatmass and Azrreal. With his hands behind his back, he motions for diatmass to run through the portal.
Azrreal glances at the portal. "How did you just-? Whatever, I won't let you escape shovure, I gave you many warnings in the past already." Azrreal slowly steps closer towards Pes.
Pes knew this was likely the end of his story, his only concern was his son…
Pes was a globally known journalist. Where in his most famous piece he exposed a corrupt sector of government in the Celestial nation. It was his big hit piece but made him public enemy number 1 to all the Celestials involved, which was a lot of strong people.
After noticing how severe the consequences were he fled to the Hub, which is a nation where people from all other nations can co-exist peacefully without discrimination and other issues akin to that.
Although the hub wasn't his first option. After news of what he did hit the other nations they all dis-allowed him from traveling through their borders, fearing war with the celestials.
But that's all that Diatmass knew of his father at the moment. He finally got the courage to stand, he rushed to go hug his father from behind, and then…
