Chapter 5 - Elysia, Go!~*note*

"Huh? Hah... Who was that just now...?"

Elysia's pink and blue eyes fluttered open, still slightly dazed.

That last simulation was so long, much longer than any she'd done before.

It had been so immersive that Elysia had the strange feeling she'd lived through those events. For a moment, she even subconsciously believed it was all real.

The simulation had shown her so much.

The friends she'd made during it made the Elysia outside of it want to meet them quickly and embark on a wonderful and fun journey.

But besides that, the final scene in the simulation was something she couldn't forget.

As her simulated self was about to leave the world, she seemed to see an oasis in the depths of a wasteland, a place corrupted by Honkai energy and devoid of life.

And that oasis even had someone living in it?

"That person... felt kinda familiar, like I've seen them before somewhere… Hmm, I can't remember."

Recalling the last scene, Elysia's big eyes were filled with even more questions.

She couldn't imagine anyone surviving on the surface at the end of human civilization, and living so well too.

But putting her questions aside, Elysia was more concerned about the friends she'd made in the simulation and the future of humanity.

She wasn't really concerned with anything else outside of her immediate interests.

After all, she was smart and perceptive. She could sense that with each simulation she changed, the future of humanity was getting better at an alarming rate.

From barely surviving five Honkai Eruptions to making it to the thirteenth.

She figured that if she ran a few more simulations, humanity and her friends would find the optimal way to fight the Honkai and safely get through this crisis.

La la la! If you think about it, the future of humanity is incredibly bright!~♪

Lost in thought, Elysia tossed the image of the oasis and the figure she seemed to see inside it to the back of her mind. Sitting on the pink sofa, she began humming a cheerful tune.

"I've got the advantage! I've got the advantage!~♪"

Right now, she wanted to, really wanted to, more than anything, get all dolled up and meet up with her simulation friends in real life.

As for everything else?

Hmph~ They can wait!~♪

The flower-like beauty was ready to go!~♪

Elysia, who had just moved in and greeted her new neighbor, was already thinking about moving again.

The Mr. Yuhao she met was interesting, but her friends she fought side-by-side in her simulations were far more important.

Besides, if she remembered correctly, Mr. Yuhao seemed to disappear after the start of the Honkai, and she didn't see him at all during the fight against it, so she wouldn't be able to save him either.

He must be an unimportant character.

But kindhearted Elysia still secretly resolved that if the Honkai were to break out here, she would help Mr. Yuhao get to a safe zone controlled by the Fire Moth.

She wouldn't let Mr. Yuhao disappear without a trace like he had in previous simulations.

Feeling like someone was calling out his name, Yuhao lazily stretched.

"My apologies, Mr. Yuhao."

"Miss Eden has taken an extended leave. Today's concert has been canceled."

"Would you like me to arrange a replacement? There are still many female singers and dancers performing in the theater."

As a high-end patron who frequently attended a variety of performances and concerts, Yuhao was a valued customer of the theater.

The theater manager had come to explain the situation to Yuhao in person.

"Oh, that's a shame."

When Yuhao first came to this world, he had been an advisor to Eden, who was already quite popular at the time.

Although he later resigned from his position as an advisor and became a boring country bumpkin, Yuhao still liked Eden's artistry.

In his eyes, Eden's artistic talent was astounding. In the past, she could have been the central soul of a massive art installation, greatly increasing cultural, luxury, and even unifying outputs.

Just to clarify, massive art installations are mega structures, approximately the size of a small, inland planet, capable of housing five billion people.

But while he was disappointed, since he couldn't "do nothing today and enjoy some music," he could just wait until Miss Eden finished her business.

He had plenty of time, and wasn't in a rush.

Besides, in this garden world, the only events that could really affect the order of things were world wars or invasions by external forces.

And world wars and invasions were just minor issues. He was sure that this garden world would be able to deal with them easily.

So...

"Then I'll just have tea. It just so happens a new batch of tea leaves has arrived."

Moving with the calm, unhurried steps of an old man, Yuhao slowly strolled away.

Nothing on the agenda today! Time for tea!

[In your eyes, your advisor Yuhao was a very capable man. From culture, art, and music, to cooking, public speaking, planning, even military, political, and economic matters, there was nothing that you saw him not understand. And his personality and character were both exceptional. You saw him as a confidant, not just an advisor. So you were deeply saddened when he left, though you still supported his decision. But that decision soon became something you'd regret for the rest of your life.]

[With the outbreak of the Honkai, you never saw Yuhao again. Later, during the Seventh Honkai Eruption, you were severely affected, and nearly lost your life. You were eventually saved, but you'd seen the horror of the Honkai, so you resolutely joined the Fire Moth to fight for humanity, providing your own wealth to help the organization with its financial problems.]

[Afterwards, you met many people in the Fire Moth, as well as your soulmate, Elysia. You liked her very much and enjoyed spending time with her, but the good times always passed by so quickly.]

[The Honkai came in waves, with one large-scale Eruption after another, giving humanity no time to breathe.]

[Populations were wiped out, industrial facilities destroyed, and the civilization and glory that had been accumulated over millennia was ruined in an instant… By the time the last three human survival bases were destroyed by the nuclear weapons unleashed by the 12th Herrscher, the battle between the Flame-Chasers and the Herrscher of the End on the moon had become irrelevant. Human civilization had completely failed.]

[Having witnessed the destruction of the world she loved, the fall of the era of glory and gold, and the self-sacrifice of her dearest friends, you refused the suggestion to move on to the next era. You decided to stay, as you knew you belonged to this era.]

[When the Finality descended and the world collapsed, you sat on top of the ruins of human civilization, playing the piano and singing beautiful and sorrowful songs, giving your last performance as a beautiful farewell to the golden age that had passed.]

[But as the performance ended, a clear round of applause echoed through the silent stands. There was an audience to your performance, even when there shouldn't have been.]

[But before you could see them, the tidal wave of Finality consumed you, and you died.]

Opening her eyes, Eden looked melancholy, but there was a hint of surprise in her brown eyes.

"Miss Eden, your concert has been postponed for too long. The theater has asked about it multiple times."

"With your status, you could have just canceled the concert. You didn't need to keep delaying it."

A soft knock came at the door, and her manager said respectfully.

For some reason, Eden had suddenly stopped all performances in the past few months. The theater contracts that she'd previously taken were also being postponed over and over.

Faced with a flood of emails and phone calls, her manager was exhausted.

If that knowledgeable Mr. Yuhao was still Miss Eden's advisor, they could probably resolve this situation easily.

"It's not good to keep postponing. Let's finish the performances that have been scheduled first."

Facing the distressed manager, Eden smiled gently, then added.

"Oh, and please contact the Fire Moth for me. It's an organization under the United Nations."

"Tell them that Eden admires their ideals and is planning to sponsor them."

"Yes, Miss Eden. I will contact them right away."
