The battlefield was painted in fire and shadows. Screams of dying warriors echoed through the night as the final siege raged on. Alex stood at the heart of it all, their sword stained with the blood of countless enemies— and friends.
"Stand down."
The voice that cut through the chaos was painfully familiar. A voice that had once whispered promises, shared laughter, and vowed to fight together forever. Lily once i thought everything mine belong to her.
Next to them, standing tall in resplendent armor, was John—the person who had once been a brother-in-arms, the one who had recruited me into this guild 15 years ago.
But now, they weren't allies. They were executioners.
The guild emblem that has symbol of dark knight standing in front of dead bodies is no longer lively because the symbol on his crest had been vanished. That he had fought for, bled for, built with their own hands, was no longer theirs.
It was ripped away.
The system message burned in their vision like a cruel joke:
> You have been expelled from Dark Warriors.
> You are now an enemy of the guild.
A cold laugh escaped their lips. "So, this was the plan all along?"
Lily looked away. Guilt. Good. At least they had the decency to feel that. But John? No. There was no regret in their eyes—only the smug satisfaction of victory.
"You were holding us back."
"You were never meant to lead."
"This is the end for you."
The enemy guild swarmed forward, blades raised, spells crackling in the air.
Alone. Surrounded. Betrayed.
But if they thought this was the end?
They had no idea what was coming.
Because this was just the beginning.
"A slow, chilling laugh echoed through the battlefield—soft at first, then rising, sharp as a blade."
The enemy guild hesitated. The betrayal should have broken him, should have left him begging or raging in despair. Instead, he stood there, shoulders relaxed, a smirk curving his lips as if he found the entire situation amusing.
"Fifteen years ," he murmured, his voice smooth, almost mocking. "And this is what it comes to? A knife in the back, from the ones I trusted most?"
His gaze swept over them—his former allies, his best friend, his lover. There was no sadness in his eyes now, only something colder. Sharper.
"You were holding us back," his best friend sneered, stepping forward, gripping their sword tighter. "This is the way it has to be."
Alex tilted his head, his laughter fading into a knowing smile. "You think this is the end?"
He lifted a hand, and the air around him shifted. A pulse of energy rippled outward, crackling with restrained power. The ground beneath him trembled.
"No," he whispered, voice barely audible over the rising storm. "This is where I begin."
Then, in a flash of movement, he struck.

Despair.
That was the only emotion left in him after everything collapsed.
After logging out of the game where he had spent 17 years of his life—15 of them as a guild leader—he felt nothing but emptiness. He had given his heart and soul to the game, to his friends, his lover, and the guild members he once called family. Yet, in the end, they had all cast him aside like garbage.
The betrayal was brutal. They had hidden their true faces well, pretending to be loyal until the perfect moment came to strike. It was during a war against a first-rate guild, where survival meant everything, that he learned the cruel truth. One by one, his own guild members turned on him. He had trusted them with his life, but they had sold him out for gold, rewards, and a seat at the table of the strong.
His so-called comrades had been paid to kill him.
The moment the battlefield turned against him, he realized it had never been a fair fight. It was an ambush. His enemies didn't just want him dead; they wanted to humiliate him, to erase him from the game as if he had never existed. His lover, the person he had cherished the most, was the one who landed the final blow.
She had smiled as she did it.
"This is just the beginning," he had whispered before he died in the game.He used tier 5 spell. This wasn't the end of his story. No, they would all pay. If they thought they had broken him, they were wrong.
He would rise again.
But now, as he sat in his room, staring at the empty screen, reality hit him harder than any virtual attack ever could. His body felt heavy, his mind fogged with exhaustion and disbelief. He had given everything to a world that had only given him pain in return.
A sudden knock at the door snapped him out of his thoughts.
The sound echoed through his quiet house, startling him. Who could it be at this hour? He hesitated before getting up, his legs sluggish, his mind still clouded by the weight of betrayal. As he reached for the door, a strange uneasiness crept over him.
Then—before he could react—he felt a sharp pain in his back.
A blade.
He gasped, stumbling forward, but before he could turn around, another strike came, and another. It was a standard attack pattern—one he knew well from the game. But this wasn't a game. This was real.
His breathing grew ragged as he fell to his knees, his vision blurring.
And then he saw them.
The person standing over him, the one who had driven the blade into his back, was someone he knew. Someone he had once loved. Their eyes, once warm, were now filled with cold determination.
"W-why…?" he choked out.
But his answer came in the form of a cruel smile.
As his consciousness faded, he heard her whisper something—a few final, cursing words that sealed his fate.
Darkness consumed him.
But if they thought this was the end… they were wrong.
He would return. And when he did, the world would know true despair.
