AN: I tagged this book, come and support me with a thumbs up!

After the confrontation with Zhao Tianlong, Ye Chen and Su Lingxue returned to her family's home. The atmosphere was tense, but Su Lingxue's parents were relieved to see her safe. They had been worried sick, knowing the kind of man Zhao Tianlong was.

"Thank you, Ye Chen," Su Lingxue's father said, his voice filled with gratitude. "You've done more for us than we could ever repay."

Ye Chen shook his head. "There's no need to thank me. I did what I had to do."

Su Lingxue's mother, a kind but frail woman, offered him a cup of tea. "Please, stay for a while. You've been through so much."

Ye Chen accepted the tea and sat down. He knew that Zhao Tianlong wouldn't give up so easily, but for now, the Su family was safe. As he sipped his tea, he noticed Su Lingxue watching him with a curious expression.

"What is it?" he asked.

Su Lingxue hesitated for a moment before speaking. "You're… different. I've never seen anyone move like you did back there. Who are you, really?"

Ye Chen smiled. "Just someone who wants to protect the people he cares about."

Su Lingxue didn't press further, but her curiosity only grew. She couldn't shake the feeling that there was more to Ye Chen than met the eye.

Meanwhile, in the shadows of the city, a figure watched Ye Chen from a distance. The man was dressed in black, his face obscured by a hood. He had been following Ye Chen ever since the incident at the Golden Dragon Hotel, observing his every move.

"Interesting," the man muttered to himself. "A boy with such power… I wonder where he learned to fight like that."

The man pulled out a small notebook and began jotting down notes. He was a spy, sent by a powerful organization to investigate Ye Chen. His mission was simple: gather as much information as possible and report back.

The next morning, Ye Chen left the Su family's home and headed to the city's outskirts. He had a plan, and it involved the hidden sect he had encountered earlier. The sect's resources and knowledge would be invaluable in his quest to grow stronger.

As he walked, he couldn't shake the feeling that he was being watched. He glanced over his shoulder several times but saw nothing out of the ordinary. Still, he remained on guard.

When he reached the forest, he was greeted by the same gray-robed man who had escorted him before. The man nodded in recognition.

"Elder Zhang is expecting you," he said.

Ye Chen followed the man to the temple, where Elder Zhang was waiting. The old man looked at Ye Chen with a mixture of curiosity and respect.

"You've made quite a name for yourself, young man," Elder Zhang said. "Defeating Zhao Tianlong's men is no small feat."

Ye Chen shrugged. "It was nothing."

Elder Zhang chuckled. "Modesty is a rare trait in someone so young. But tell me, why have you returned?"

Ye Chen's expression turned serious. "I need your help. I'm facing a powerful enemy, and I need to grow stronger. I believe your sect has the resources and knowledge I need."

Elder Zhang studied him for a moment before nodding. "Very well. But know this—our help comes at a price. You must prove your worth."

Ye Chen nodded. "I understand."

Elder Zhang led Ye Chen to a hidden chamber beneath the temple. The chamber was filled with ancient artifacts and scrolls, each one radiating spiritual energy. In the center of the room was a stone pedestal, on which rested a glowing crystal.

"This is the Trial of the Ancients," Elder Zhang explained. "Only those with a strong will and a pure heart can pass. If you succeed, you will gain access to our sect's most powerful techniques."

Ye Chen stepped forward and placed his hand on the crystal. Immediately, he was enveloped in a bright light, and his surroundings changed. He found himself in a vast, empty plain, with a towering figure standing before him.

The figure was clad in ancient armor, its face hidden behind a helmet. It spoke in a deep, resonant voice. "To pass this trial, you must defeat me."

Ye Chen nodded and assumed a fighting stance. The figure charged at him, its movements swift and powerful. Ye Chen dodged and countered, his own movements precise and calculated.

The battle was intense, with both combatants pushing themselves to their limits. But Ye Chen's experience and determination gave him the edge. With a final, powerful strike, he defeated the figure.

The light faded, and Ye Chen found himself back in the chamber. Elder Zhang was smiling.

"Congratulations, Ye Chen. You have passed the trial."

With the trial complete, Ye Chen was granted access to the sect's most powerful techniques and resources. He spent the next few days studying ancient scrolls and practicing new techniques. His strength grew rapidly, and he felt more confident than ever.

But even as he trained, he couldn't shake the feeling that he was being watched. The mysterious observer was still out there, and Ye Chen knew that he couldn't let his guard down.

One evening, as Ye Chen was meditating in the temple, he was approached by a young woman. She was beautiful, with long black hair and piercing green eyes. She introduced herself as Mei Ling, a disciple of the sect.

"I've been watching you," Mei Ling said. "You're different from the others. You have a fire in you that I've never seen before."

Ye Chen smiled. "And what do you want from me?"

Mei Ling's expression turned serious. "I want to help you. I know you're facing a powerful enemy, and I want to stand by your side."

Ye Chen studied her for a moment before nodding. "Very well. But know this—if you betray me, there will be consequences."

Mei Ling nodded. "I understand."
