Chapter 14 - Dr. Andrew

(Author's POV)

Soon, Dr. Andrew entered Myra's room with his medical kit. He sat beside her on a chair and checked on her injured foot meticulously, "How do you feel right now?"

"Not very good" her voice came out as hoarse as she tried to suppress the pain she was feeling.

"How about now?" he massaged some point and asked again without looking at her.

A shrill escaped Myra's mouth; the pain was unbearable for her.

"Careful" three different voices echoed throughout her room. Nora had a worried look when she said it. But both her brothers' faces had a complex emotion on their faces, worried as well as lingering anger, that kind of a look.

The three siblings mind linked Andrew.

Elio said sternly, "Be careful, she is just a human."

Dion gritted his teeth and roared, "Andrew, watch what you are doing. Can't you be a bit gentle?"

Nora anxiously mind linked, "Dr. Andrew, Myra is a human and her recovery rate is not as fast as us wolves. Please be extra careful with her."

Andrew was dumbfounded with all the voices buzzing in his head, saying one and the same thing but in an utterly different manner. 'What do they take me for? I'm the doctor. I know what to do' he shrugged inwardly.

He gently rubbed her ankle which elevated the pain a bit. He then placed her foot on the bed and said, "It is not as serious as it looks like. The part where the injury has occurred was already injured from before so it has ended up like this. Her recovery rate will not be fast but she will get better. I am writing an ointment; do apply it three times a day, with warm hands. And don't put pressure on this foot. If possible, don't use it until the swelling subsides. And just in case, I will prescribe some painkillers, but only take it when the pain is unbearable, ok."

As he instructed, he turned around and looked at the other three and smiled, "Now if you'll excuse me. Do take care of her well" patting Elio's and Dion's shoulder and winked while exiting the room.

Sara, getting Nora's mind link, came after a while to visit Myra, "Oh dear, this looks bad. Does it hurt a lot?" she asked with concern reflecting in her words and shown on her face.

This warmed up Myra as well as Nora's heart. Sara was the Luna of the pack, the biggest pack in the world. As both the Alpha and the heir apparent were absent, she was already busy in the office taking care of packs business when she got Nora's mind link. She left her work in the middle to check up on Myra. She really was a kind person, befitting to be a Lycan Luna, the pack's mother.

Sara sat beside Myra's bed and held her hand, "Myra, tell me what would you like to have for lunch, I'll ask the chef to prepare for you right now."

Myra didn't wanted to come off as demanding nor she wanted to brush Sara off rudely, she simply acknowledged, "I am not a picky eater by any means, besides whatever the chef makes will be delicious to say the least."

"You sure have a way with your words as Nora told us" Sara chuckled slightly. Sara was fond of Myra because she was Nora's friend from her harsh childhood. Myra was there when she could be by Nora's side. Nora as well as their thorough investigation told their family that Myra was a reliable and responsible human and always stood up for her daughter and for those who were weaker. Also, she was fond of Myra because she was a girl. After having four sons and living with them for a lot of time, she wanted a daughter, now she has two of them to dote on.

In her mind, she has already declared Myra as her goddaughter; excitement was just an understatement to say the least.

"Ma'am, I'm fine. The doctor has already prescribed some meds and ointment. It will be gone in no time" Myra politely spoke, giving Sara a toothy smile.

"Myra, you are a Nora's friend and like a daughter to me. Just call me Sara." Sara said, feigning dejection. Myra only gave her a genuine smile in reply and nodded.

"You should rest now. And Elio, do see to it that the Andrew's instruction are followed thoroughly. You see Myra, Elio is a medical student so he knows a lot about this kind of stuff" Sara assured Myra.

Myra was speechless. She could not defy Sara's order when she was only concern for her. But she felt uncomfortable thinking Elio taking care of her. She looked at Nora hoping for her to intervene, but she only smiled back at her, being totally oblivious.
