Chapter 2 - Shadows of A.G.N.I

New Delhi, the vibrant capital of India, teemed with energy—crowded streets, towering buildings, and government offices where decisions shaped the country's future. Beneath this bustling exterior, though, operated a shadowy force—A.G.N.I(Advanced Guardian Network of India ) The agency, funded discreetly by the government, worked in the unseen spaces of national security. A.G.N.I. handled what couldn't be addressed by traditional methods—terrorism, espionage, and threats too dangerous for the public eye.

At the center of A.G.N.I. was Albert Lam, a man of intellect, sharp features, and a thick beard that seemed to give him an aura of unapproachable authority. At forty-seven, Albert was a man of few words, but those who worked with him feared his cold, calculated approach to problem-solving.

His assistant, Bhalla Singh, was the opposite—loud, comical, and the physical strength behind Albert's sharp intellect. While Albert was emotionally distant, Bhalla balanced him with his humor and easy-going nature. Although they were opposites, Bhalla's loyalty to Albert was unwavering.

The two were in Albert's office deep within A.G.N.I.'s underground headquarters. Albert was hunched over his desk scanning encrypted messages on his computer. Bhalla was standing nearby breaking the silence.

Albert's life had been defined by difficult decisions. One such decision was the death of his own nephew, who had been involved in a drug cartel. Albert had ended his life without any hesitation. When his sister, the boy's mother, attempted to protect him, she too had been killed. It was a moment that Albert could never forget but one he never allowed to show. There was never any room for regrets in this line of work-only actions, consequences, and results.

Finally trying to lighten the mood he asked, "Have you ever thought of retirement, sir?"

Albert's eyes flickered toward him. "Retirement? Do I look like some pensioner planning to retire?"

Bhalla grinned. "With that beard, you could pass for a retired sage in Goa."

Albert gave one of those rare, fleeting smiles. "If I ever start giving life advice, shoot me.

As Albert leaned back in his chair, the faint hum of distant machinery filled the silence. Miles away, unknown to him, a young boy named Aarvansh was going about his mundane day, completely unaware that his life was soon to cross with A.G.N.I.'s darkest mission, and nothing would ever be the same again.
