Chapter 18 - Silent Edge

In the street of Silverpine, Anastasia was walking while observing her surrounding, she was wearing a shabby robe, that won't attract any attention. Also, she was wearing a magical artifact that allowed her to change the color of her hair from silver to black.

while walking she stopped in front of a store, I needed to buy a sword. As she walked in, the owner of the shop was an old man, as soon he saw her he said "Little girl, this is not a toy shop, you can get hurt if you touch anything here."

Anastasia saw him briefly brfore saying "I need a sword, that would fit me."

Old man was quite shock as he listened to the request of the little one. "But, kid.."

Before he could say anything, Anastasia interrupted him. "I am your customer, and you are the seller, so please fulfill my request as you would for any other customer."

"Hoho, you sure are a bold one." with that he said "Follow me kid."

The old man started to showing all kind of swords to Anastasia. However to his surprise, none of them were to the liking of the little one.

"It seems you didn't like any." the old man said with a concerned look.

"No, it's not like I didn't like any, you sure have good swords, it's simply just that, I didn't found any that can wield by me." Anastasia said with a poker face.

As the old man observed the claim of the little kid, then after a while he said "Follow me, this time you might find, a sword of your liking."

As old man suggested Anastasia followed him, they were standing in front of the basement, as they ascend, the path lead to a spacious room, where all kind of weapon were asking to be picked.

"Choose, whatever you like." old man said with a proud look.

It really is a treasure. How does the old man have so many good swords? Well, whatever. I just have to choose one, right?

As she observed the collection, Anastasia noticed a sword at the far end of the basement. It was quite different from the others—covered in dust, as if no one had ever touched or taken care of it. Curious, she made her way toward it. Up close, it appeared to be an ordinary longsword.

As soon as she held it, the old man chuckled and said, "That sword? It won't open. It seems its craftsman only made it for decoration."

However, Anastasia felt strangely drawn to the sword. 'What's the point of crafting it if it won't open? There must be a mechanism, right? Yes, there has to be.'

Determined, she thought, 'I should show it to Marianne to determine the true worth of this sword. With that, she said, "I'll take this one."

"What?" old man asked as if he heard wrong, "You want to take this sword? Didn't you say you wanted something to wield?"

"I didn't say I would only take this one," Anastasia replied.

She made her way toward a table opposite her and picked up a dagger. It was shaped like a crescent moon, its dark blue blade adorned with a moonstone. With a satisfied look, she said, "I'll take this one as well."....On her way home, she seemed happy. The reason was simple—she had acquired a mysterious sword and a moonstone dagger.

'Let's call the moonstone dagger… Moon Dagger. And for the longsword… how about Dusty? No, probably not. I bought it from the old man, so… Old Blade? Yeah, let's go with that.'

As she reached the inn, she eagerly searched for her friends to show them the new weapons she had bought."

As she arrived where Jeremy and Marianne were, she stood there, waiting for them to ask about what she was holding.

Marriane was the first to notice and asked, "What are you holding, Anastasia?"

Anastasia's eyes sparkled with excitement as she explained, "Oh, this? These are the weapons I bought—Moon Dagger and Old Blade!"

The moment Jeremy heard her, he froze before exclaiming, "What? What did you just say? Moon Dagger and… Old Blade? Don't tell me you actually named them like that! Moon Dagger is at least okay, but what is wrong with Old Blade? Your naming sense is terrible!"Anastasia said, flustered, "What's wrong with that?" is old blade really that bad?Anastasia then began to explain about the Old Blade, how it wouldn't open. She handed it to Marriane and said, "Please examine it and find a way to open it.""Alright, I'll look into it," Marriane said while observing the sword."Now, let's think about what to name the sword. We can't just call it 'Old Sword,'" Jeremy said, his expression scrunched in thought."Do we really have to change it?" Anastasia asked with a concerned look.

"Of course we have to," Jeremy replied, "and don't look at me like that."

"What about Silent Edge?" Jeremy suggested. "It symbolizes the sword's mysterious and forgotten state."But I like 'Old Sword' better, Anastasia thought to herself.

"Let's go with Silent Edge,'" Marianne said.

What Marriane you too? "Okeyy." Anastasia said.

Just like that the sword was named Silent Edge.
