"The weight of a person's sins depends on the person measuring it."
Disclaimer: Don't take this piece of crap seriously.
So, let's see… How did it all happen?
Ah, yes.
From a young age, people have always loved stories about heroes saving the world or noble princes or knights rescuing princesses.
In each of these tales, there's always their counterpart—the evil, the villain, the "bad guy."
This evil or rather, villain gives the hero a purpose, and the story inevitably ends with their defeat.
"The good always trumps the bad."
That's the saying, right? But I've always wondered why it's true
But then this is only possible through Karma.
The laws of Karma dictate as such:
"Whatever you sow, you shall reap." Or… "One good turn deserves another."
I have always hated those words more than anything. And as such… People admire heroes far more than villains.
Some may say there are some villains more iconic than heroes and that they like them more than the heroes.
But let's not lie to ourselves.
The reason they say that is because the villain had a reason to become who they are, not the other way around, which can be interpreted as hypocritical in some ways.
People love that aspect of them because of what they went through to become the villain they are.
But what about those who embody evil for the sake of evil?
Most people dislike them, don't they?
And that's the problem.
They prefer a well-written villain, but please give me a break.
Without Evil. Good cannot exist.
If everybody is good, then the world might as well be worthless to begin with. This is what is called "balance."
For Good to exist. Evil must exist alongside it. That is its duality.
Evil shouldn't have a reason to become evil, other than for the sake of just being evil.
When the duality of evil was being created, was it created to be well written?
So, spare me the theatrics on well-written villains.
"I will become evil."
I said this to my parents when I was younger.
Naturally, it didn't end well for me.
Immediately. I was seen as a possessed child, taken to many psychiatric doctors to see if there was anything wrong with me.
But I wasn't crazy—I just admired the duality of good and evil. Especially while evil is perceived as it is.
My thoughts back then was that it was something created by God.
So why do people hate it?
Why must evil lose?
If Yin and Yang balance the universe. Why can't Evil also be that balance? Maybe all I'm saying is nonsense, but I don't care.
Yes. There are levels to villainy, and of course, I'd be lying if I did say I love every sort of villainy. But that doesn't matter.
All I knew was that, one day, I woke up to such a world. A fictional one I had read while searching for anything to satiate my boredom in my past life.
My first thought?
"Weird. Bordering goofy."
Even after dabbling into fan-fictions of said goofy show, the authors merely use that to satisfy their perverted fantasies.
At the very least, others try to show that "oh, the world is deeper than that," and from there, they go on long ass quests to either save the world or get very strong.
But in the end, it doesn't change the fact that I'm not interested in any of them.
Well-written characters?
Who needs those?
Are you one to say your life is well-written?
Those who are born more privileged than others and never had to suffer, can you say their life is well-written?
Stop it.
I hate it.
Stories are meant to be enjoyed. Those who would read junk novels or stories would read them. In the end, it all comes down to preferences.
On the note of this world's?
Pathetic.
From Raynare to Rizer, to Kokabiel, even down to Rizevim, who I mostly read about in fanfics, they were more disappointing than the last..
"At the very least, Rizevim is the better of them, no? But even him is incomparable to beings like Samael or even 666 itself."
My personal preference were those two.
One is the poison of God or something along that line, while the other is the sin of humanity.
No matter how much I look at it, those two, I have to meet them, one way or the other.
But that's not where I should be going now. We've gone off focus.
Waking up into this world in my room, naturally, I found a way, by interacting with the resident and sure enough.
One said:
"Which town is this you ask? Are you not a resident? Anyways, this is Kuoh Town."
Another said:
"Do I know if Kuoh academy exists? Of course, isn't that the school that recently became coed? Why did you ask?"
With that. It was pretty much sealed.
I was in Highschool DxD.
Of all places to be. Fuu. At the very least, it wasn't hopeless.
No, it seriously was hopeless.
"Oh, now it has fallen on me to save this world—by driving it to despair, oh, my lord~"
Dramatically, I knelt beside my bed, lamenting the absurdity of this situation. Shaking my head, I got up from the ground I sprawled on dramatically.
"Ahh~ Another successful morning devotion."
I muttered as I prepared myself for the day.
Now. To start things off, today is sunday. And yes… "Issei's death day." Do I feel remorse for what's about to happen? Not even a bit.
Wait. I know what you'd say, and no, my situation is different. Issei is simply in the way of me watching the world despair, so I have to get rid of him.
Like I said, I hate those that do it for his boosted gear or women.
My reason is FAR MORE NOBLE than those annoying perverts.
Back on track:
[Despair level: 10%] ← This right here is the reason.
This concept is simply me gathering my knowledge of this world's villain and how the main casts can overcome them.
You see. The reason it's around 10 is because Issei the Mc overcome most situations, additionally, with the power of boobs.
A world like Highschool of the Dead, would, according to my estimate, would get a [80%] and above despair level.
No super power, and because of its uncompleted work, the fate of that world is uncertain, and which may mean in the end, the world gets snuffed out.
"Despair reflects the threat level in this world, maxing out at Trihexa, which ultimately gets sealed.. Which reduces its despair level."
Just because DxD is stronger doesn't mean it should have a higher despair level, I'm basing it more on the threat to humanity.
For here, the main cast pretty much have everything worked out which reduces the threat level for ordinary humans.
Avoid Kuoh, and you'll live a peaceful life. Simple no?
And… While there are many things that happen down the line. It's but a mere contribution to what's called [World Progress].
"But what happens when the world's progress has gone to shit from the first episode?"
I said with a dark chuckle as I donned my jacket, of course, before I left, I also armed myself.
Since I already know the location and time. I wasted no time heading there. It didn't take long before I got there.
Kuoh Town Square.
"I shouldn't be stalking I guess."
But my goal is to get a front seat at every chaotic event, so I HAVE no, I MUST be there.
Arriving at the massive town square with several shopping buildings sprawling as far as the eye could see.
A bridge that connected two sides over an express road. A real, beautiful, picturesque scenery.
People were moving around without a care in the world, women going on dates with their men.
And then, just in front, I saw that dude.
One who practically screamed "super virgin" just by the way he looked. Now, I'm also a virgin, but that's not the focus here.
"Although I've seen him a few times at the academy, seeing him like this…."
My voice trailed off as I saw a woman with small bat wings in a cosplay looking costume.
"So, that's the pass…"
I watched Issei reluctantly accept it and shove it into his pocket. He probably thought little of it, if anything.
Soon. His girlfriend Yuuma—or rather, Raynare—walked over to him, and he grinned from ear to ear.
I couldn't help but feel a bit sorry for him.
As for me? I decided to settle into a restaurant nearby to observe quietly..
They wouldn't be leaving the square anytime soon, so I pulled out a flip phone—like something from the 2000s—and started jotting down a to-do list.
[To-do list for Episode 1]:
[Meet Raynare and warn her] ✓
[Witness the main characters clock out]
[If things go south, personally disrupt Rias's plan to reincarnate him.]
"Ahhh… this shouldn't be hard."
Depending on how Raynare kills him, I might have to step in.
By stepping in, I mean tearing apart the paper Rias' had given him.
That way, when she comes back, she'll be too late to save him.
His soul would be long gone by then.
Afterall, I believe the condition for her reincarnating a dead person is that as long as their soul hasn't completely left their body, it should be doable.
Now that I think about it.
"People say Rias was a manipulative bitch, leaving him to die and all before coming to his rescue."
"Bullshit. Someone like her who can't even find the solution to her own problems, a manipulative bitch?"
"How laughable."
"If she really was, things would have turned out differently."
As if that naive third-year student could scheme.
It's one of the dumbest things I've heard. For her, it was mostly destiny, luck and something called chance.
As with the term in volleyball: Chance Ball.
She was lucky Issei was the ball that rolled into her side of the court.
It was by destiny Raynare was sent to Kuoh, it was by destiny Raynare approached Issei.
Everything had been predestined, hence, all she had left was the chance.
See…? As if she's a mastermind. If she were one, her marriage would have been settled by now.
If I were Rias could think of a few ways to break such engagements off.
Of course, she could tempt him and make him, I dunno, get him were she wants.
What? I'm not wrong. She's a devil isn't she?
Surely, when Riser gets accused of molestation once, I know a certain Satan wouldn't take such injustice sitting.
Naturally, this would only work if well, Rias herself is willing to degrade herself to such tactics.
A mastermind is someone who'd do anything to achieve their goal. Or maybe that's what I personally think.
At the same time, they should be at the very least, one step ahead of others. Rias is not one, and she'd never be one.
She should best stay as she is, cause nobody is coming to save her anymore.
With today. Her hopes will be shattered to dust. Anyways….
"It's evening now."
I had switched locations at some point and casually chilled in an open area.
With the sun setting, I moved toward the park naturally, blending in.
Finding a spot near the fountain, I quietly waited, climbing a tree and casually sitting on one of its branches.
Strangely, there was no one else around—meaning they were nearby.
Tap! Tap!
"It sure was fun today."
I heard her voice approaching the fountain, her tone sweet. Wow, scary, how many people has she deceived with this.
Her words were so practiced that you won't think she's plotting anything against you.
"Hey Ise."
She said as she turned back to Issei with a smile. Of course, Issei looked genuinely thrilled to see her smiling.
"What is it, Yuuma-chan?"
"There is something I want to do to celebrate our first date. Can you listen to this wish of mine?"
Issei froze, swallowing hard, locking the fuck in, giving her his full attention, with the most serious gaze ever.
"W-what is the w-wish you want?"
Then… silence…
There was that particular silence that hung in the air for a brief moment, then…
"Will you die for me?"…
"...Eh? What did you say…? I think my ears are….."
Issei laughed wryly thinking he must have heard it wrong. He scratched the corners of his ears as if he had misheard her truly.
He surely must. Hence, he asked. Sadly for him.
"Will you die for me?"
She said it clearly while laughing this time.
"Haha… you must be joking Yuuma-chan…"
He said, but Raynare didn't stop laughing. Instead, what he saw only got more bizarre.
Black wings sprouted from her back as her eyes turned cold.
"Hahaha, yes. That's the look I wanted to see—the one I didn't get from that vermin."
Calling me a vermin when you're but a sacrificial cannon fodder is actually insane. But oh well.
"W-what are you talking about?"
"It was fun. The short time I spent with you. It was like playing house with a little child."
And like the original plot….
BUZZ!
She summoned her spear of light. And this was the moment that mattered…
HYUN!
The sound of the spear of light cut through the air and then—
DON!
The spear lodged itself into Issei's stomach.
"Oh, now I remember—he did mention making sure you were truly dead…"
"What did he say again? Ah, it doesn't matter. He'll get his due, too."
I heard her say such words as she flew away without a care in the world.
She flew off laughing almost victorious.
"That bitch."
I muttered softly with a deadpan expression, while covering my curled up lips with my left hand.
As expected, I should've known better than to trust her with this.
"So, now, I'm her next target huh? Hahaha… that's actually quite funny."
That's how you want to play it, Raynare.
Unfortunately for you. Killing you is much easier than you think.
All it takes is a little gaslighting a few Devils I know… they'll do a good job for me.
"But for you Issei."
I jumped down from the branch of the tree I sat on. Then slowly, I walked towards him, crouching down.
"Unfortunately, unlike others that hate you, I harbour no ill intent towards you."
I said that, with a sad face.
It was honestly what I thought. Sure, he was a goofy character, but in the end, he was just a human.
Although a pervert, he was naturally embodying lust, much like how I adored evil.
"But you are in the way. Your existence will not allow things to go the way I want."
"Unexpected, chaotic, and unpredictable—that's what I seek."
Then, I closed his eyes. He looked like he was trying to say something, but I ignored it.
I then reached into his pockets and quickly tore the paper before throwing the pieces into the fountain.
Raising my head towards where she flew to, I then muttered with a smile.
"Raynare. You are next. Thanks for giving me a reason."
Just as I said that, a red orb emerged from Issei's body, floating upward as I raised an eyebrow.
"What's this?"
["Principle of Domination" acquisition successful.]
["He That Stole The Principle of Domination From the Dragon of Domination" transcendence acquired.]
"Huh?"
