Screams tore to the air as the city fell into the chaos, smokes rose in the sky shrouding the sun to the madness that unfolds below, buildings crumbled in fire, sirens wailed like a distress child. In the midst of the turmoil, shadow of grotesque figures danced in the havoc, their hideous looks that once bore humanities form, now driven into a beastly embodiment, defying nature — just sheer monstrosity.
No one knew what was happening – there were no signs of the pandemonium that was about to unfold –not even a hint that a disaster will come. The bitten didn't turned, the scratched didn't transformed. A medical error, a curse, or a divine punishment–not even a single rumor has eased the feeling of horror. Those who survived was left with two choices, hide or die. The fire continued to scorch everything humanity has built, the above ground has become the outline of Hell, a tale of a once beautiful place that nurtured men.
What's left of humanity was forced to hide beneath the earth, like worms huddling together for survival, the once dominant animal above are now driven to live in an oppressive environment, cloaked in cold and darkness, with limited resources and depressing atmosphere of being confined in the frigid earth walls.
Hundred years has passed, the above ground has become a tale, a forbidden place where the monsters reigned, and death lingered. Yet, no matter how much time passes, humanity can never bear the weight of humility of being caged. And someday, someone will climb up there, and reclaim what humanity once had.
