Chapter 17 - Alan Gilbert’s rage

A lot of guests were happy they made it to the opening events.

They were satisfied with the artworks and the interior design of the gallery.

Immediately they posted their photos on social media handles, fans began to drool on them as they couldn't get enough of it.

The opening events also added more opportunities for celebrities especially models, actors and actresses, CEO's and other guest. They were able to connect with each other in a good way.

As the event ended, the guests all left with smiles on their faces. They'd really wish to come back with their loved ones.

Some vouched to come back for a date.

Some gentlemen went home with contact information from ladies.

When Jessica was about to leave, she called April to say goodbye to her as she was all smiles.

April darling, I'm so happy the event went smoothly.

It's all thanks to you, mother.

Are you leaving now? April asked.

Yes, I'm a little bit tired.

No problem, please take good care of health.

I will, thank you.

She caressed April's hair as she smiled, you also should take care of yourself.

You did a lot of work today.

Yes, mother. April replied as she hugged Jessica.

Goodbye, April waved.

Bye sweetheart. Jessica replied.

Liam and Perry also decided for them to go home as it was already late in the night. They had to wait for April few minutes to clear some things.

April decided to go and address her employees for working hard that day. She also gave them bonus as they all began to jubilate and hail her.

The four of them went into the car as it was time to leave, Stacy and April laid their heads on each other. They were so tired. All they could wish for is to sleep immediately they get home.

Well unknowingly for them, Alan Gilbert was already at home an hour before the event ended.

He got home in anger due to the fact that they decided to neglect him from family events.

He got to find out about the gallery opening from his friends at the bar, when they saw the news they decided to ask him why he wasn't there.

He was deeply embarrassed that his friends laughed at him for being absent from such big event.

Immediately he got home, he began to throw things at the wall in anger. He broke the marble center table in the living room and turned the chairs upside down. The maids and workers in the house rushed out as they were worried what was going on with master.

Master, one of the chefs called. Is everything okay? Do you need help? What happened?

Master, please calm down. Immediately one of workers said that with a worried look,

Gilbert didn't waste time as he landed a hot slap on the worker's cheek.

YOU DARE TO GIVE ME ORDERS TO STOP?

WHO DO YOU THINK YOU ARE?

PEASANT!

Gilbert spatted on his face as he continued to scream.

In anger Gilbert broke the flower vase by the window.

One of the maids quickly made a call to Liam.

Hello young master Liam?

Yes, is everything okay? We are on our way home you don't need to worry.

No, young master I called to tell you that master is home now and he's in anger. He's breaking things in the house.

Okay, don't worry we'll be there soon. Liam ordered as he looked worried. He ordered his bodyguard to drive faster.

When they got home, the living room was already scattered, glasses and woods were broken.

Wow, huh!

The family is here, Gilbert scoffed.

You are all useless, how could you forget the head of this house?

You all planned this, didn't you? Gilbert asked as he moved closer to them in anger.

You abandoned us first, uncle. April said with anger.

You never cared about anything in this house, and you call yourself the head. What type of head is not around to take responsibilities for the family? April continued to ask in confidence as she moved closer to Gilbert.

WHAT? HOW DARE YOU TALK TO ME IN THAT MANNER? Gilbert screamed.

YOU LITTLE-

SLAP!

Gilbert slapped April.

SLAP! SLAP!

April slapped Gilbert twice as she moved closer to him staring at him eyeball to eyeball.

WHAT? Can you see? How disrespectful this little brat is?

As he attempted to raise his hand again, Liam grabbed his arm and twisted it to the back.

UNCLE? Liam screamed.

You're drunk, it's time to sleep. As he gently patted Gilbert's back and dragged him inside the room.

April, are you okay? Stacy and Perry moved closer as they touched April's cheek.

Ouch!

It hurts. April whined.

Let's go upstairs, Perry said.

Bring me ice pack quickly, Perry ordered the maids.

Yes, ma'am.

And please make sure you clean up all these mess.

Yes madam.

The workers all left immediately to clean the living room.

As Stacy and Perry dragged April to her room, immediately they opened the door the maid also followed them with the ice pack, so April could apply it on her red swollen cheek.

How could you just confront him like that with such boldness to give him two slaps? Stacy asked.

He's a man.

He's strength overpower yours.

Do you know what he would have done to you if brother Liam didn't intervene like that? Stacy advised.

So you want me to keep quiet while he's throwing trash words at us knowing fully well he's at fault?

He doesn't even care if everyone dies in this house. April said.

He was only angry not because he missed the event but he missed the chance to be in the spotlight with us. He has always been an attention seeker. April continued to speak with the ice pack on her cheek.

Didn't you noticed the way he scattered the house before we came back. He did that just to get attention from the workers in the house.

And of course by tomorrow morning, the rumors would have spread to the whole workers in the house. April hit the bed in anger.

Aunt, I don't know how you were able to cope with that man but truth be told he's a bastard. April said.

I'm sorry Stacy, he's your father, and I have absolutely no right to insult him but-

April stopped talking as she bent her head down.

April, don't you ever confront a man like that, even if he's family.

It could be dangerous and no one might be there to help you. Perry advised.

Okay?

Okay aunt, I'll listen to you. April replied.
