Chapter 16 - Chapter 16: The Last Train

The sky was dark, the air cold, and the city enveloped in an eerie silence. Nothing seemed unusual at the train station, but Shiori's heart was racing, as if it were racing against time. The clock was nearing midnight, and the last train was about to depart. She felt something strange inside her, as though she was about to make an important decision that would change everything.

Shiori, who had initially decided not to act, was now standing at the edge of the station. She glanced at the train preparing to leave, and as she thought about her next steps, she realized this could be her last chance to set things right.

Her mind was clouded, and her emotions were tangled in her heart. Ever since the moment she had parted from Rei, she had felt so much pain and regret. She had never fully expressed her feelings before, but now there was an overwhelming urge to do so. She had always been afraid of losing her, living in a circle of doubts and hesitation.

As she stood there, she remembered Hanna's words from a few days ago: "Sometimes, you need to take the first step, even if you're scared." Her words echoed in her mind, almost like a call to rise up and face her fear.

As she thought about all this, she saw Rei in the distance, standing and watching the train. Her eyes were filled with sadness and concern, as though she felt something unspoken. But Shiori felt something strange: she felt the need to approach her, and that the time had come for confrontation.

She didn't know how to start the conversation or what to say, but she knew one thing for sure: she couldn't let this moment slip away without trying. Slowly, she approached her and stopped right in front of her.

"Rei," Shiori said in a low voice, but confident enough for her to hear. "I... I'm sorry. I didn't know how to say this before, but now I realize I need to tell you everything."

Rei, who was almost on the verge of tears, looked at her in silence for a long moment before replying. "Shiori, I wish I had known what was going on in your mind. I was waiting for just one signal from you."

Shiori felt something heavy in her chest, as if she had been carrying a burden she could no longer bear during that time. "I just... I was scared. Scared of losing you forever. Scared of losing everything because of my hesitation."

"But we're here now, aren't we?" Rei said with a faint smile, despite the sorrow in her eyes. "We're here, and everything can start again."

In that moment, Shiori realized there is no perfect time, and love doesn't need to wait. It only requires acknowledgment and the courage to overcome fear.

The dim lights in the train station illuminated their faces, as if signaling a new beginning. And with the last whispers of the train, announcing its departure, Shiori felt everything in her life had

changed in that moment.
