[Note: I'm using Japanese version Sung jin woo in the story. But I still use Korean name for Jinwoo and other few characters here.]

{Prologue}
Ā
The war was over.
Ā
The Shadow Monarch, Ashborn, had passed his power to his successor, Sung Jin-Woo. His role in the eternal struggle between the Rulers and Monarchs had come to an end. Now, Ashborn stood on the edge of his long-awaited dreamāa world of eternal peace where he could finally rest.
But before he could enter this tranquil oblivion, something unforeseen occurred.
Ā
Ashborn found himself standing in an ethereal realm, a place beyond comprehension, where countless multiverses were birthed and destroyed in an endless cycle. Stars exploded in the distance, creating new galaxies, while entire realities faded into nothingness. It was the Omniverse's Highest Plane, the origin of all creation.
Ā
In the center of this vastness, a humble campfire burned brightly, its flickering light defying the infinite void. Sitting on a log beside the fire was a figure Ashborn knew wellāhis Creator.
Ā
The Creator gestured to the empty log beside him. "Ashborn, it seems you're finally ready to rest. Come, sit."
Ā
Ashborn hesitated for a moment before silently obeying.
Ā
The Creator studied the flames, his voice carrying a weight that only he could bear. "I owe you an apology, Ashborn. You never desired war, yet I forced you into it. All of youāRulers and Monarchs alikeāwere my children, and I failed you."
Ā
Ashborn's golden eyes flickered in the firelight. "Creator, you have no need to apologize. I chose my path, and I have no regrets."
Ā
The Creator shook his head, a faint, bitter smile on his lips. "No, I do. Instead of nurturing you, I let my persona twist into something unrecognizable. I became consumed by my own creation, blind to your suffering. And now, look at what became of my beautiful childrenāa cycle of destruction, unending chaos."
Ā
Ashborn remained silent, his thoughts drifting to the faces of the other Monarchs and Rulers. Memories of endless battles and sacrifices surfaced, but there was no way to change the past now.
Ā
Breaking the silence, the Creator asked, "Ashborn, what do you think of humans?"
Ā
The Shadow Monarch looked at his Creator, surprised by the sudden question. "At first, I was indifferent. They were fragile, ruled by their emotions, and inconsequential to the grand design." His gaze softened as he continued, "But thenā¦ I met him. My successor. Perhaps it was through him that I grew to see humans differently."
Ā
The Creator leaned forward, intrigued. "Tell me. What changed your mind?"
Ā
A faint smile touched Ashborn's lips, something rare and genuine. "My successor, before he gained strength, was among the weakest of humans. Yet, he faced danger head-on, not for power, but to protect those he loved. His determination, his willingness to sacrifice for his mother and sisterāit was unlike anything I had seen. Humans may lack power, but their capacity for joy, for love, and for hopeā¦ it's something even we could never possess."
Ā
The Creator chuckled softly. "It seems my greatest Monarch has developed a fatherly fondness for his successor."
Ā
Suddenly the campfire blurred few seconds before becoming normal.Ā
Ā
Ashborn's expression grew serious looking at this. "Creator, tell meāwill he be safe? I sense somethingā¦ amiss now."
Ā
The Creator's face darkened for a moment, then lightened with a knowing smile. "Your successor used the Cup of Reincarnation, pushing it beyond its limits. The cup's power caused a causal ripple that overwrote reality itself. His world has merged with a far greater multiverseāone teeming with gods, outer entities, and dangers he cannot yet fathom."
Ā
Ashborn's golden eyes narrowed in concern.
Ā
"Do not worry," the Creator reassured. "The overwrite has made him far more powerful than before. He will face Outer Gods and unimaginable trials, but he will save that worldā¦ as he saved his own."
Ā
Ashborn exhaled softly, a rare moment of relief. "I trust in him. He will not succumb to the power as I once feared I might."
Ā
The Creator's expression grew solemn. "Let us hope you are right. Power has a way of corrupting even the purest souls."
Ā
Ashborn's voice was firm, unyielding. "He will never fall."
Ā
The Creator smiled faintly but said nothing. A heavy silence fell over the campfire, broken only by the crackling of the flames.
Ā
Ashborn glanced around this impossible realm, his gaze taking in the infinite multiverses in their eternal cycle of creation and destruction. He marveled at the beauty and tragedy of it all.
Ā
The Creator broke the silence once more. "Would you like to see him? I could send a copy of you to his worldāa fragment of your being to watch over him as he walks this new path."
Ā
Ashborn shook his head. "No. Not yet. He must find his own way. But one dayā¦ perhaps."
Ā
The Creator nodded in understanding. "Very well, my child. Rest here, where time has no hold. You've earned it."
Ā
Ashborn gazed into the fire, his expression thoughtful. "But before I rest, would you like to hear my story? Even though you know it all, perhaps you'd like to hear it from me."
Ā
The Creator smiled warmly. "I would love nothing more. Tell me, Ashbornāhow did you change?"
Ā
Ashborn stared into the flames, and his deep, rumbling voice began. "This happened after the war endedā¦"

Meanwhile, in a World Rewritten
Ā
On Earth, in a reality now fused with the vast multiverse of the Nasuverse, Sung Jin-Woo began a new chapter of his life. He carried the weight of a god but the heart of a man.
Ā
Unbeknownst to him, his journey would pit him against Outer Gods, Divine Spirits, and those who would test his resolve. Yet, he would riseāstronger, more unyielding than ever.
Ā
For he was no longer just a man, nor merely the Shadow Monarch.
Ā
He was the Hero of darkness, destined to shape the fate of worlds.
Ā
Ā
Prologue: "Shadows of Fate"
Ā
The rain poured relentlessly outside the Norma household, an unceasing rhythm that mirrored the tension in the air. Inside, Norma Selner, the renowned fortune-teller and clairvoyant, carefully prepared coffee for the two most unusual guests she had ever hosted. The scent of roasted beans mingled with the sound of thunder rolling in the distance. Tonight, the future of the world would be discussed in hushed tones.
Ā
A sharp knock at the door broke the silence. Norma, with her calm demeanor, opened it to reveal a man with light brown hair and a warm smileāan envoy sent by the Rulers. He was humanity's liaison to the celestial forces that had waged war for millennia.
Ā
"It's been a while, Madam Selner," the envoy greeted, stepping inside. He glanced around, noting the absence of her family. The house had been emptied, save for those who understood the gravity of this meeting.
Ā
Norma nodded politely. "It's good to see you again. Please, have a seat. He'll be here soon."
Ā
No sooner had they sat at the dining table than a shadow stretched unnaturally across the floor, coalescing into a man in a sleek black coat. His piercing gaze and commanding aura left no doubtāthis was Sung Jin-Woo, the Shadow Monarch. He emerged from the darkness like a specter, his presence filling the room with an overwhelming sense of authority.
"I wasn't late, was I?" he asked, his voice steady and composed.
Ā
Norma smiled. "Not at all. Your new hairstyle suits you, Hunter Jin-Woo."
Ā
Jin-Woo gave a faint smile. "Thanks, but I'm just a detective now."
Ā
The envoy stood, bowing slightly. "Long time no see, Shadow Monarch."
Ā
The three sat around the table, sipping coffee as the rain intensified outside. The conversation began with a question that had been weighing on Jin-Woo's mind since he noticed the anomalies of this world.
Ā
"Is this the doing of the Rulers?" Jin-Woo asked, his tone serious. "The worldā¦ It's been overwritten. History is warpedāthere are Mage Towers, Clock Towers, and fools chasing something called the Root. The timeline is a mess."
Ā
The envoy shook his head hurriedly. "No, Shadow Monarch. This isn't our doing. We lack the power to rewrite reality on such a scale without severe consequences. Only the Creator could attempt such a thing."
Ā
Norma interjected softly, "I believe it's the Cup of Reincarnation. It was already at its limit, and its use caused this... cascade of reality."
Ā
Jin-Woo's blue eyes darkened. "So I'm the cause."
Ā
The envoy leaned forward. "Perhaps indirectly, but the results are undeniable. The overwriting of reality has strengthened us, the Rulers. And youāyour power surpasses even ours now. You exist both in this world and in the Throne of Heroes simultaneously like us."
Ā
Jin-Woo's brow furrowed. "A Heroic Spirit?" He let out a dry laugh. "I bypass restrictions, then. Fitting."
Ā
The envoy nodded. "Yes, and we've adapted as well. This world's system fascinates us. We've taken on forms akin to Foreigners, learning from this reality's rules."
Ā
Norma's turquoise eyes met Jin-Woo's. "But this new reality comes with greater threats. Outer Godsāeldritch entities that exist beyond reason. They are waiting, Shadow Monarch, watching for a moment of weakness."
Ā
Jin-Woo leaned back, his gaze sharp. "Eldritch Gods? You mean like the Cthulhu myths?"
Ā
The envoy nodded gravely. "Exactly. They are real here, along with countless other horrors. The Earth's system protects this world for now, but should it falter..."
Ā
Norma's voice trembled slightly. "If they succeed, this world will face ruin. Humanity will be wiped away."
Ā
Jin-Woo's expression hardened. "Then I'll stop them. That's all there is to it."
Ā
The envoy relaxed, a small smile on his face. "We, the Rulers, will assist however we can. When the time comes, we'll inform you."
Ā
Norma set her coffee down, her voice steady but solemn. "Mr. Jin-Woo, before you go, there's something else. A tragedy is unfolding in Fuyuki Cityāwomen are getting attacked during night. It's connected to something called the Holy Grail War. You'll understand its significance soon. So please look into it."
Ā
Jin-Woo stood, his coat billowing slightly as he prepared to leave. "I'll look into it. Thanks for the coffee, Madam Selner."
Ā
As he vanished into a shadow portal, the room grew quieter. Norma stared into her cup, her expression unreadable.
Ā
"The world will face destruction," she murmured. "But I believe the Shadow Monarch will stand against it."
Ā
The envoy looked at her curiously. "You didn't tell him everything, did you?"
Ā
Norma shook her head. "Some things are better left unsaid."
Ā
Ā
[Tokyo Police Department's Criminal Affairs Division]
Ā
The Tokyo Police Department's Criminal Affairs Division buzzed with activity. Phones rang, officers scurried about with stacks of paperwork, and the faint aroma of stale coffee lingered in the air. At his desk, Yamato Takashi, the division's newest investigator, was busy sifting through criminal records for the month. His desk was a mess, cluttered with files, but he didn't mindāhe was used to the chaos by now.
Ā
Takashi leaned back in his chair, stretching with a satisfied sigh. "Wow, the number of criminal cases this month is way lower than last month. Sensei Jin-Woo really is a legend," he said with a smile.
Ā
"Thanks," came a deep, familiar voice from behind him.
Ā
Takashi nearly jumped out of his chair, spinning around to see Sung Jin-Woo standing there, his usual black coat draped over his shoulders and an amused smirk on his face.
Ā
"Sensei! When did you get here?!" Takashi exclaimed, clutching his chest.
Ā
Jin-Woo chuckled. "Long enough to hear you singing my praises."
Ā
Takashi groaned. "You really need to stop sneaking up on people like that."
Ā
Jin-Woo's eyes scanned the cluttered desk, quickly landing on a stack of case files marked Fuyuki City. His expression shifted, turning serious as he reached for one of the files. Flipping through it, he came across a troubling report: two women had been attacked under mysterious circumstances during the night. Both victims had fallen into a deep coma, and despite the doctors' best efforts, they hadn't woken up. Even worse, the attacker had left no evidenceāno fingerprints, no DNA, not even a trace of their presence.
Ā
Jin-Woo's mind flashed back to Norma Selner's warning. "Check Fuyuki City's women's missing cases. Stop the tragedy before it begins."
Ā
Takashi noticed the shift in Jin-Woo's demeanor and leaned over. "Are you going to take this case, Sensei? I mean, you've already solved, what, 90% of Tokyo's cases? If you want to branch out to other cities, I'm totally fine with it," he joked, grinning.
Ā
Jin-Woo smirked, closing the file. "You're coming with me."
Ā
The smile vanished from Takashi's face. "W-wait, what? No, no, no, I'm super busy here. I've got, uhā¦" He scrambled for an excuse. "I've got a girlfriend! Yeah, and she'sā¦ she's gonna kill me if I leave her alone for too long."
Ā
Jin-Woo raised an eyebrow, clearly unimpressed. "That's the best you could come up with?"
Ā
Takashi's shoulders slumped. "Come on, Sensei, can't you take someone else for once?"
Ā
"Nope," Jin-Woo replied, patting Takashi on the shoulder. "Be ready tomorrow. We're leaving early."
Ā
As Takashi groaned in defeat, Jin-Woo turned and headed straight for the Chief's office. The door was slightly ajar, and the Chief looked up from his desk as Jin-Woo entered.
Ā
"Hunter Jin-Woo!" The Chief's face lit up. "What brings you here? Need more cases to clear? You've already made us look like the best station in Japan!"
Ā
Jin-Woo handed over the Fuyuki case file. "I need permission to investigate this case. It caught my attention."
Ā
The Chief flipped through the file, his expression growing somber. "Fuyuki City, huh? Strange place. They've had some bizarre incidents over the years, but thisā¦ this is new." He closed the file and nodded. "You have my permission. I'll call their police department and let them know you're coming. If anyone can crack this case, it's you, Hunter Jin woo."
Ā
"Thank you, Chief, And I'm no longer a Hunter Now!" Jin-Woo said with a slight bow.
Ā
As he left the office, Jin-Woo's thoughts drifted back to Norma's prophecy. "Stop the tragedy before it begins." He didn't know what awaited him in Fuyuki City, but one thing was certaināthis case was more than it seemed.
Ā
And for the Shadow Monarch, no mystery stayed unsolved for long.
Ā
Ā
[Jin-woo Household]Ā
Ā
Sung Jin-Woo stepped out of the bustling Tokyo night and into the quiet corridor of his apartment building. A rare smile graced his face as he opened the door to his home.
Ā
"I'm back," he called out, shrugging off his coat and hanging it neatly by the door.
Ā
"Papa!" came the cheerful cry of his son, the sound filling the space with warmth.
Ā
Jin-Woo turned to see Cha Hae-In standing in the living room, their young son cradled in her arms. Her soft smile lit up the room, and their child's tiny arms reached out for him eagerly.
Ā
"You're already home," Hae-In said, walking toward him.
Ā
"I got a new case to solve, so I'm taking the rest of the day off. Besidesā¦" Jin-Woo leaned in, gently tickling his son's tiny chin. "Isn't our little king extra lively today?"
Ā
"It's because he took a long nap earlier," Hae-In replied with a chuckle, passing the child to Jin-Woo.
Ā
Jin-Woo held his son close, the boy's small hands reaching for his father's face. "You slept well today, didn't you? And here's your rewardāa chocolate cake. You love cake, don't you?" Jin-Woo said, producing a small slice from his coat pocket.
Ā
"Stop spoiling him with cake!" Hae-In scolded, hands on her hips. "If you keep this up, one day he's going to open a bakery!"
Ā
Jin-Woo chuckled, balancing his son in one arm while offering the cake with the other. "Well, we could always use a family bakery. Wouldn't you agree, little king?"
Ā
Before Hae-In could retort, Jin-Woo's eyes flicked to the side, noticing two familiar figures standing in the shadows of the room: Bellion, his loyal Shadow Marshal, and Igris, his steadfast knight.
Ā
"And what's going on with those two?" Jin-Woo asked, raising an eyebrow.
Ā
Hae-In sighed. "About thatā¦"
Ā
Before she could finish, the two shadows had already launched into a heated argument.
Ā
"What do you mean by saying we mustn't teach Young Master the ways of the sword?!" Bellion exclaimed, his voice tinged with outrage. "Do you truly think that's a valid suggestion, Igris?"
Ā
"High academic success is the barometer of one's capability in this world, Bellion," Igris countered, his tone calm but firm. "To focus solely on swordsmanship would be shortsighted."
Ā
Bellion scoffed. "The world values strength above all else. What good is academic prowess when one cannot protect what matters most?"
Ā
"I could say the same about brute force without intellect!" Igris shot back.
Ā
Jin-Woo pinched the bridge of his nose. "You twoā¦ it's fine whether it's academics or swordsmanship. But how about we worry about his future after he learns how to walk?"
Ā
The two Shadow Marshals froze, their argument cut short by Jin-Woo's words.
Ā
"Understood, my lord," they said in unison, bowing deeply.
Ā
But before Jin-Woo could enjoy the brief moment of silence, his wife chimed in.
Ā
"And how about you come home early until our son learns how to walk?" Hae-In said, crossing her arms and glaring at him.
Ā
Caught off guard, Jin-Woo let out a sheepish laugh, gently patting his son's back. "Heheā¦ You've got a point."
Ā
As he held his son close, Jin-Woo felt a deep sense of contentment. Despite the chaos of his duties and the relentless mysteries he faced, moments like these grounded him.
Ā
"So, which city this time?" Hae-In asked, her tone softening. She few times went to other places when her husband went to arrest gangsters in large scale.Ā
Ā
"Fuyuki City," Jin-Woo replied, glancing at her. "It's where your distant relative lives, right?"
Ā
"Yes," Hae-In said, nodding. "It's been a while since I last saw her. Maybe I can catch up with her while you're working."
Ā
Jin-Woo leaned against the sofa. "The case is related to those two women attacked during the night. They're in comas, and doctors can't figure out how to wake them. It seems to be tied to some mysterious magic users."
Ā
"I see," Hae-In said thoughtfully. "This new reality we're living in is still so strange. I miss the technology of the 2020sā¦ but I'll start packing our things."
Ā
"I already found a house for us to stay in," Jin-Woo said, nodding.
Ā
As Hae-In headed to prepare their luggage, Jin-Woo's gaze shifted to the living room. Beru, his ever-loyal shadow, was seated on the floor, utterly engrossed in a dramatic TV serial. The former Ant King's claws were clenched tightly, his eyes wide as he shouted at the screen.
Ā
"YES! HIT HIM! CRUSH HIS FOE!" Beru exclaimed, completely immersed in the action.
Ā
Jin-Woo shook his head, chuckling softly. His home was a haven of chaos, but it was his chaosāand he wouldn't trade it for anything in the world.
To Be Continuedā¦
Ā ---
Ā
Sung Jin-Woo Abilities:Ā
Ā
1. Connection to the Throne of Heroes
Ā
Sung Jin-Woo's feats as the Shadow Monarch would rewrite him into the Fate system as a Legendary Heroic Spiritābut not one who needs summoning. Instead, he'd ascend to the level of a living god, bypassing the restrictions of Heroic Spirits and existing in both reality and the Throne simultaneously.
Ā
The fusion with the Fate system might also grant him conceptual invulnerabilityāhe embodies death and darkness, making him immune to ordinary attacks and granting resistance to anti-unit, anti-army, and even anti-fortress Noble Phantasms.
Ā
---
Ā
2. Divine Authority
Ā
In the Fate universe, Divine Spirits are entities with immense power tied to natural phenomena or myths. Sung Jin-Woo's Authority as the God of Death and Darkness would include:
Ā
Absolute Command Over Death: As a living representation of death, Sung can summon or dismiss death as a force. For instance:
Ā
His shadows are no longer just reanimated beings; they become conceptual entities of death, immune to destruction unless their very concept is rewritten.
Ā
He could kill immortals, such as those with Phoenix-like regeneration, by simply invoking the Absolute Concept of Death.
Ā
Domain of Darkness: Sung gains complete control over darkness in its conceptual form, making it impossible for opponents to see, move, or resist while within his Monarch's Domain.Ā
Ā
---
3. Fusion with the Fate System's Magic
Ā
Sung's powers would integrate with the Magecraft and Sorcery of the Fate universe, granting him an understanding of their systems while surpassing them:
Ā
True Magic: Sung's mastery would let him rival or exceed the Five True Magics, such as the Second Magic (Kaleidoscope) or the Third (Heaven's Feel).
Ā
Mystic Eyes of Death Perception: Sung develops a conceptual understanding of death in the Fate universe, he had gained an ability akin to Mystic Eyes, allowing him to "see" and manipulate the death of objects, concepts, and even space itself.
Ā
---
4. Godly Noble Phantasm Equivalent
Ā
While Sung doesn't need a Noble Phantasm as a Servant would, his signature skills could be rewritten into godly Fate-style abilities, including:
Ā
Eternal Monarch's Shadow Army (Anti-World): Sung can summon his entire shadow army at once, and their power scales directly to his divinity. His army could overwhelm even other Anti-Army Noble Phantasms, such as Excalibur's beam or Enuma Elish, with sheer number and conceptual strength.
Ā
Death's Absolute Authority (Anti-Unit): Sung gains an active ability to instantly end the existence of a target by severing their connection to life. This would work even on Servants, bypassing their resistance unless they're tied to True Magic.
Ā
Ashborn's Eternal Domain (Anti-Reality): Sung's reality-bending Domain could rival Reality Marbles, overwriting the entire battlefield with absolute darkness, where his power reaches its peak and enemy powers are negated.
Ā
---
5. Jin-woo PresenceĀ
Ā
Sung Jin-Woo's evolution into a Divine Living God would amplify his aura and presence:
Ā
To mortals, his mere presence would feel like staring into the void of death, causing crippling fear or outright submission.
Ā
To Servants, his power would feel "unfathomable", as though he were a Beast-class entity (on the level of Tiamat or Goetia), but bound by his own moral compass rather than destruction.
Ā
His personality would remain largely unchangedāstoic, calm, and caring for his loved onesābut with a divine edge. He'd carry the weight of knowing he's a god walking among mortals, balancing power with humility.
Ā
---
6. True Omnipotence Of Darknessā The World of Rest or Territory of Eternal Rest.Ā
Ā
At the end of Solo Leveling, Sung Jin-Woo gained total control over an infinite-sized world called the "Territory of Eternal Rest." In other words, he is the ruler of that world ā he determines everything that happens in the boundless world. The concept of omnipotence in fiction is quite complex. The usual classification includes Meta Omnipotence, Absolute Omnipotence, True Omnipotence, Practical Omnipotence, Questionable Omnipotence Almightiness, Nigh Omnipotence & Specialized Omnipotence.
Ā
These Omnipotence types vary significantly; however, Sung Jin-Woo's power over the Territory of Eternal Rest makes him a True Omnipotent being in that world. Although this ability doesn't place Sung Jin-Woo on the level of cosmic characters like Void Shiki or DC's The Presence or Marvel's The One Above All (TOAA), it shows how powerful he is.Ā
