After a long tossing and turning, Lana finally fell asleep successfully. She didn't want to fall asleep, but the tiredness finally got the better of her. It was already night when they woke up from their sleep with Lilith, to loud shouts and footsteps, quickly jumped out of bed and peeked out the door. Men and women ran up and down, most of them running towards the gate. The girls didn't understand what was going on when suddenly an unknown man rushed in front of them.
"Go back to your room and don't come out. They attacked us." He stormed off quickly and then hurried towards the gate. They closed the door back and started backing away. Both girls had a look of horror on their faces, but Lana suddenly had an idea. She thought this was her chance to escape, so she quickly started to get dressed. Lilith was still standing still, silently watching Lana's every move, completely paralyzed by fear.
"I don't think it's a good idea for you to go now. Your previous attempt didn't work either, and it won't work now anyway." She was already at the end of her sentence.
Lana didn't deal with the hysterical girl, if she wants to stay, then stay, but she's going to get out of here now. She didn't look back at Lilith as she left the room, quickly heading for the exit, which was open. In the rush, they didn't even notice her, maybe they thought she was one of them. When she got out, she looked around to see where to go. Vampires and wolves were fighting everywhere, screams broke the silence of the night. Everywhere she looked, she saw struggle and blood, suddenly she couldn't decide where she should go.
Then she noticed that a small gap had opened in the direction of the forest, which could provide her with good cover, so she started running. She managed to get far enough, the cold air was burning her lungs, her face was completely red, her hands were frozen, but she didn't stop, she only stopped when she heard the sound of footsteps behind her. She quickly turned back and saw a large man approaching her with yellow glowing eyes. She knew right away that the man was a vampire, his eyes were the same as Elias's.
Her heart raced as she waited for the man to catch up to her, but before he could get close to her, he was flanked by a werewolf. He had a huge stature, which completely covered the one squirming below him, whose hands were only visible as he hobbled. The wolf bit his victim's throat with a sudden movement, as a result of which the vampire's body limped dead in the snow. Lana looked into the wolf's eyes, which glowed half-colored in the darkness of the night. One of his eyes shone blue, it was as bright as the blue sky, the other eye shone yellow, it had a shade like honey.
The girl didn't move, she couldn't decide whether the wolf was her enemy or not. A few moments later, the wolf lay down on his belly, his eyes became friendly. Lana understood what the animal wanted from her, and began to approach it with careful steps. When she was already standing next to him, she timidly grabbed the huge creature's fur and then sat on it.
If what she learned from the vampires was true, then this wolf was going to save her. The animal got up from the ground and carried the girl at a frantic pace deep into the forest. They galloped through the woods for about an hour when Lana spotted a small camp in the distance. They slowly reached their destination, when the wolf lay down again, Lana quickly jumped off him. Her legs ached from having to press her legs against the wolf's side all the way, so the first thing she did was give her limbs a good shake. The creature retreated to one of the tents, Lana just looked after it. The people who were outside stopped to watch the girl.
This made Lana very confused, she didn't know what she should do now, but luckily she didn't have to think about it much, because an old lady stepped in front of her.
"Come my child, we won't bother you with any information today, and when tomorrow comes I will tell you everything. You need to sleep now, my child, you must be very tired," said the lady kindly to Lana.
She led her to a tent, the door of which she pulled aside for her to enter. Once inside, she looked around. She was given a large tent, and inside there was a bed, a large, round wooden tub with steaming water inside. The girl didn't need more, she undressed quickly to dip her chilled limbs. The warm water burned her cold skin at first, but as her body temperature gradually warmed up, she found the warmth pleasant. After taking a bath, she got dressed very thickly, unfortunately the tent is not warm from the inside, but she will have to get used to the cold.
She got into bed, wrapped herself up to her neck with the blanket, but that didn't ease her babbling either. She started to feel her body slowly getting cold again.
"Can I come in?" a male voice suddenly spoke. Lana flinched at the sound and finally let her visitor in. A tall, muscular man in a pair of jeans entered. Lana's eyes fell on his muscular upper body and chiseled bones, and when she realized what she was doing, she lowered her head, blushing.
"I thought I'd offer you an opportunity to not be so cold all night," the man said kindly.
Lana's eyes immediately lit up, she was happy to hear that she might not have to freeze all night.
" I'll lie next to you for the night, if you snuggle up to me you won't get cold, because I'm a wolf, my body temperature is high. Before you think or say anything, I'm not saying it because I have an ulterior motive, you simply have no other option for tonight." Lana couldn't speak because of the chatter, her teeth were chattering non-stop, her jaw was already starting to hurt from the involuntary jerks. She almost nodded to the man, who immediately started towards her and climbed into the bed next to her. Lana immediately felt the heat emanating from his body as she turned to him and snuggled completely against him.
