Rashin walked at the back with Daki, while the kid, holding Satella's hand, led the way.
They had been walking for a good minute in search of where the villagers could be.
Of course, there was no doubt at least most of the villagers would have died.
But according to the additional information Rashin got from the boy, the villagers led the boy to safety, while the others bought time before they went back.
Which meant there was a chance some of them were still alive or at least fighting to be.
Rashin did ask the kid why they didn't think to inform anyone from the mansion before setting out on the monster hunt.
The kid replied, "Because Father didn't want to disturb the Mistress while she had a guest."
The reply struck Rashin as weird. If it were any other village, they would most likely not want to think for themselves. They would want to depend on the village chief or anyone leading them.
It made things easier.
