Chapter 14 - The Event

I followed Julian to the limousine, feeling like a prisoner in my own life. We were headed to some charity event, and I had no idea what to expect.

As we drove through the city, Julian sat silently beside me, his eyes fixed on his phone. I stared out the window, watching as the city lights blurred together.

We arrived at the event, and Julian helped me out of the limousine. I felt a surge of anxiety as we walked into the crowded room, the sound of laughter and music hitting me like a wave.

Julian took my hand, his fingers wrapping around mine like a vice. I felt a surge of resentment, but I knew that I had to play along.

As we made our way through the crowd, Julian introduced me to various people, all of whom seemed to know him. I smiled and nodded, feeling like a fake.

But as the night wore on, I began to feel a sense of unease. Julian was being unusually attentive, his hand never leaving mine. And every so often, he would lean in and whisper something in my ear, his breath sending shivers down my spine.

I didn't know what to make of it. Was Julian trying to make a point, or was he actually starting to feel something for me?

As we stopped at a table to chat with some of Julian's business associates, I found myself feeling more and more uncomfortable. Julian's hand was still wrapped around mine, and I could feel his eyes on me, watching me.

I tried to shake off the feeling, telling myself that I was just being paranoid. But as the night wore on, I couldn't shake the sense that Julian was trying to send me a message.

And then, just as we were about to leave, Julian leaned in and kissed me. It was a soft, gentle kiss, but it sent shivers down my spine.

As we pulled away, Julian's eyes locked onto mine. For a moment, I thought I saw something there, something that looked almost like... feeling.

But then his mask slipped back into place, and he smiled, his eyes glinting with amusement.

"Let's get out of here," he said, his voice low. "I have a feeling that the rest of the night is going to be much more... interesting."

I felt a surge of trepidation as Julian led me out of the room, his hand still wrapped around mine. What did he have planned for the rest of the night? And why did I get the feeling that I was in way over my head?

As we walked out of the event, I caught a glimpse of Victoria standing by the bar, her eyes fixed on me with a mixture of anger and disdain. I felt a surge of anxiety, knowing that she was still a threat.

But Julian seemed oblivious to the tension between us. He smiled and waved at Victoria, before turning back to me.

"Shall we?" he said, his eyes glinting with amusement.

I nodded, feeling a sense of unease. What did Julian have planned for the rest of the night? And how was I going to get through it?

As we walked out of the event, Julian led me to the limousine, which was waiting for us by the curb. He opened the door and gestured for me to get in.

I hesitated for a moment, feeling a sense of trepidation. What did Julian have planned for the rest of the night?

But Julian's eyes seemed to bore into mine, and I felt a shiver run down my spine. I knew that I had no choice but to get into the limousine.

As I settled into the seat, Julian got in beside me, his eyes never leaving mine. The driver closed the door behind us, and we pulled away from the curb.

The ride was silent, Julian's eyes fixed on mine as we sped through the city. I felt a sense of unease, knowing that I was trapped in this limousine with him.

But as we pulled up to a luxurious high-rise building, Julian finally spoke. "We're here," he said, his voice low.

I looked out the window, wondering where we were. But Julian just smiled and got out of the limousine, gesturing for me to follow him.

I hesitated for a moment, feeling a sense of trepidation. What did Julian have planned for the rest of the night?

But Julian's eyes seemed to bore into mine, and I knew that I had no choice but to follow him

As I followed Julian into the building, I couldn't help but feel a sense of unease. Where were we going? And what did Julian have planned for the rest of the night?

We stepped into the elevator, and Julian pressed the button for the top floor. The doors closed, and we were alone.

I felt a sense of tension between us, and I couldn't help but wonder what Julian was thinking. Was he planning something? Or was he just trying to unsettle me?

The elevator doors opened, and Julian gestured for me to step out. I did, finding myself in a luxurious penthouse apartment.

The apartment was stunning, with floor-to-ceiling windows that offered a breathtaking view of the city. But I didn't have time to take it all in, because Julian was already walking towards me, a look of determination on his face.

"Let's talk," he said, his voice low.

I felt a surge of anxiety, wondering what Julian wanted to talk about. But I knew that I had no choice but to listen.

"Okay," I said, trying to sound calm.

Julian smiled, his eyes glinting with amusement. "Good," he said. "Because we have a lot to discuss."
