Chapter 1 - chapter 1 Escape

The sun beat down on the bustling Lagos market, casting a golden glow over the vibrant stalls and throngs of people. Laycon, a dedicated police officer, navigated the crowded alleys with a sense of purpose. His eyes scanned the scene, searching for any sign of his target - a notorious criminal known only as "The Ghost."

Laycon's team had been tracking The Ghost for weeks, following a trail of cryptic clues and whispered rumors. Finally, they had received a tip that the elusive criminal would be making an appearance in the market today.

As Laycon turned a corner, he spotted a familiar face. Ade, the twin brother he had never met, stood across the way, his eyes locked on Laycon with a mixture of surprise and wariness.

The twins' eyes held a deep connection, a sense of shared history and unspoken understanding. Laycon felt a shiver run down his spine as he approached Ade, his hand resting on the grip of his gun.

"Ade," Laycon said, his voice firm but measured. "It's time to come in."

Ade sneered, a glint in his eye. "I'm not going anywhere with you, brother."

Laycon's eyes narrowed. "Don't make this harder than it has to be. You know why I'm here."

Ade snorted. "You think you're the first to try and take me down? I've been evading the law for years, Laycon. I'm not about to let you catch me now."

The air was tense with anticipation, the market stalls and pedestrians fading into the background as the twins faced off. Laycon's team closed in, surrounding Ade with a semicircle of guns and stern faces.

Laycon's mind raced with memories of their shared past, the stories their mother had told him about their twin brother, separated at birth. He had always wondered what had become of Ade, if he was alive or dead. Now, standing face to face with his brother, Laycon felt a mix of emotions: anger, sadness, and a deep sense of loss.

Laycon's team moved in, their guns trained on Ade. "It's over, Ade," Laycon said, his voice firm. "You need to come in with us."

Ade sneered, but Laycon could see the fear in his eyes. "You'll never take me alive," Ade spat, his hand moving to his gun.

Laycon reacted quickly, grabbing Ade's wrist and twisting it until he dropped the gun. "It's over," Laycon repeated, his team closing in to surround them.

As they took Ade into custody, Laycon couldn't help but feel a sense of sadness. This was his twin brother, his flesh and blood. What had led him down this path?

At the police station, Laycon interrogated Ade, trying to understand what had driven him to a life of crime. Ade was defiant at first, but as the hours passed, he began to open up.

"I had no choice, Laycon," Ade said, his eyes pleading. "I had to survive. And I didn't have the same opportunities as you."

Laycon's heart went out to his brother. He knew that their mother had always struggled to make ends meet, and that Ade had been forced to fend for himself from a young age.

But that didn't excuse his criminal behavior. Laycon knew that he had to uphold the law, no matter how difficult it was.

As the interrogation continued, Laycon's team discovered that Ade was involved in a larger criminal network, one that reached the highest levels of government and business. Laycon realized that his brother was just a small pawn in a much larger game.

And that changed everything.Laycon was so disappointed he barely could look into Ade's eye .
