Isaiah woke up to the sound of his phone buzzing incessantly. He groggily reached for it, wincing as the bright light pierced his eyes. Gabriella's angry text messages and missed calls flooded his screen. He rubbed his temples, trying to piece together the events of the previous night. The memories came flooding back—the drinking, the argument with Asher, and the embarrassing encounter with Gabriella.
Asher's voice cut through Isaiah's reverie. "Hey, bro I'm heading out to take Aurélia on a day trip. Want to come?" Isaiah shook his head, still reeling from the aftermath of the party. "Nah, I'm good. You guys have fun."
Asher nodded,"Well, let me hope that you won't make any mess of my plans with my trash beautiful thing!" Isaiah's face turned so enigmatic that Asher noticed and decided to leave.
Isaiah laid back in bed but the feeling that he'd messed up big time was determined. The day wore on, Isaiah's phone continued to buzz with Gabriella's messages. He knew he couldn't avoid her forever, but he wasn't quite ready to face the music. He tossed his phone aside and got out of bed, stumbling to the kitchen to grab a glass of water. His head was pounding, and his mouth felt dry and sour.
Just as he was starting to feel a little more human, he heard the sound of his front door opening. Gabriella stormed in, her eyes blazing with anger. "You're a disgusting pig, Isaiah," she spat, her voice venomous. Isaiah held up his hands in a placating gesture, but Gabriella was having none of it. "You humiliated me,you bastard," she continued, her voice rising. "And then you had the nerve to say that girl's name. Aurélia, that good for nothing but trash. Who's she anyway?"
Isaiah sighed, knowing he was in for a long and painful lecture. He rubbed his temples, trying to ward off the impending headache. "Gabriella, you need to listen to me," he began, but she cut him off, her words pouring out in a torrent of anger and hurt. Isaiah knew he had to let her vent, but he couldn't shake off the feeling that he was in serious trouble.
Gabriella's tirade continued, Isaiah's eyes began to glaze over. He'd heard it all before, and he knew that apologizing profusely was the only way to placate her. So he nodded and muttered apologies, trying to appear contrite. But his mind kept wandering back to Aurélia. He couldn't explain why, but there was something about her that drew him in. Maybe it was her quiet strength or her quirky sense of humor. Whatever it was, Isaiah couldn't shake the feeling that he'd made a mistake by pursuing Gabriella instead.
Just as Isaiah was starting to think that Gabriella was finally winding down, she dropped a bombshell."I want you to stay away from Aurélia," she spat, her eyes flashing with anger. "If I see you so much as looking at her, there will be consequences. Do you understand?" Isaiah nodded, feeling a surge of resentment. Who was Gabriella to dictate who he could and couldn't talk to? But he knew better than to push her buttons, so he kept his mouth shut and noddely meekly.
Gabriella's eyes narrowed, as if daring Isaiah to defy her. "Good," she said finally, seeming to relax a fraction. "I'm glad we understand each other." She turned to leave, but not before shooting Isaiah a warning glance. "Remember, I'm watching you."
Isaiah thought to himself, "Who was he to apologise?" But he knew exactly how to manipulate Gabriella's possessive love for him. He turned to her with a sly grin and whispered,"I have a plan to ruin Aurélia's life. Don't you want to destroy her too?" Gabriella's eyes sparkled with interest as she turned to face him. "Go on," she purred, her voice dripping with malice. Isaiah's eyes locked onto hers as he continued,"Asher loves Aurélia, but I'll make my move before he confesses. I'll pretend to be her friend, gain her trust, and then destroy her life from the inside." Gabriella's face lit up with excitement as she wrapped her arms around Isaiah, pulling him close.
Gabriella gave Isaiah a hard kiss as Isaiah roamed his hands over Gabriella's ass, and she whispered,"That's why I love you, my bad boy." With a final, lingering glance, Gabriella sashayed out of the mansion, sending Isaiah a flying kiss. As soon as she was gone, Isaiah's smile twisted into a cunning grin, revealing a hidden agenda that had nothing to do with Gabriella's plans.
Isaiah let out a deep breath. He felt like he'd just dodged a bullet, but he knew that the reprieve was only temporary. Gabriella's jealousy and possessiveness were starting to suffocate him, and he couldn't help but wonder if he'd made a huge mistake by getting involved with her.
Just then, his phone buzzed with a text from Asher. "Hey my fake bro, just wanted to check in. How's it going?" Isaiah hesitated for a moment before responding. He didn't feel like getting into the whole Gabriella drama, so he just sent a brief reply."All good, man. Just dealing with some stuff, you can't understand because you're fake in everything." Asher responded with a sympathetic emoji, and Isaiah couldn't help but feel a pang of envy.
Asher seemed to be having the time of his life with Aurélia, while Isaiah was stuck in a toxic relationship with Gabriella.
Aurélia and Asher strolled around, enjoying each other's company. Aurélia reminded Asher of his promise, saying, "You mentioned taking me somewhere, remember?" Asher smiled and replied, "Of course, I'll drive you there." They arrived at their destination, Aurélia gasped in amazement. "Wow, this is stunning!" she exclaimed, her eyes fixed on a breathtaking water fountain. Asher chuckled, pleased that she liked it. "Glad to think so." he said.
They sat down together near the fountain, taking in the Serene atmosphere. Aurélia asked Asher, "Do you come here often?" Asher's expression turned nostalgic as he replied, "I used to visit this place with my mom before he left."
According to legend, the fountain had the power to make wishes come true. Asher explained, "They say that if you toss a coin into the fountain and make a wish, it'll actually happen."
Aurélia's eyes widened in excitement, Asher smiled and pulled out a coin from his pocket. He handed it to Aurélia and she looked at him with a curious expression. "Really? You think it's true?" she asked, her voice filled with a mix of skepticism and hope. "Only one way to find out," Asher said with a low and smooth voice. Aurélia tossed a coin and closed her eyes to make a wish. The sound of the coin hitting the water was followed by a gentle ripple, as if the fountain itself was acknowledging Aurélia's wish.
"So what did you wish for?" Asher turned and asked Aurélia. "I can't tell you my wish because it may not come true." Aurélia said.
They both made a hearty laugh.
