Kai's determination to protect Tae only grew stronger as the days passed. He knew that he had to be constantly on guard, watching for any sign of Vit or his accomplices.
But despite his best efforts, Kai couldn't shake off the feeling that he was being watched. He would catch glimpses of suspicious figures lurking in the shadows, only to have them disappear into thin air.
Tae, too, seemed to be feeling the pressure. He was quiet and withdrawn, his eyes haunted by the memories of his past.
Kai did his best to reassure him, to tell him that everything would be okay. But he knew that he couldn't promise that. Not yet, at least.
One night, as they were walking home from a late dinner, Kai noticed a figure following them. He quickened his pace, his heart racing with anticipation.
Tae, sensing his tension, looked up at him with a questioning expression. "What's wrong, Kai?" he asked, his voice barely above a whisper.
Kai nodded discreetly towards the figure behind them. "We're being followed," he said, his voice low and urgent.
Tae's eyes widened in fear as he quickened his pace, his hand reaching out for Kai's.
Kai took it, his fingers intertwining with Tae's as they walked. He could feel Tae's fear, his tension, and he knew that he had to do something to protect him.
As they turned a corner, Kai spotted a small alleyway to their left. Without hesitation, he pulled Tae into the alley, his eyes scanning the shadows for any sign of their pursuer.
Tae's breath came in short gasps as he leaned against Kai, his eyes wide with fear. "What's going on, Kai?" he whispered, his voice trembling.
Kai's eyes locked onto Tae's, his expression grim. "We're going to get out of here," he said, his voice firm and determined. "We're going to lose them in the crowd."
Tae nodded, his eyes never leaving Kai's. "I trust you, Kai," he whispered, his voice barely audible.
Kai's heart swelled with emotion as he pulled Tae into a tight hug. "I'll always protect you, Tae," he whispered, his voice filled with conviction. "No matter what."
As they stood there, holding each other tightly, Kai knew that he would do anything to keep Tae safe. He would fight to the death to protect him, to keep him from harm.
And as they pulled back and looked into each other's eyes, Kai knew that he was ready for whatever lay ahead. He was ready to face the shadows, to confront the dangers that threatened to tear them apart.
But little did Kai know, the greatest danger of all was yet to come. A danger that would test his love for Tae, his determination to protect him, and his very sanity.
As they stepped out of the alleyway, Kai's eyes scanned the crowded streets, searching for any sign of their pursuer. But the streets were empty, the only sound the distant hum of traffic.
Kai's eyes locked onto Tae's, his expression grim. "Let's get out of here," he said, his voice firm and determined. "Let's go somewhere safe."
Tae nodded, his eyes never leaving Kai's. "I'm with you, Kai," he whispered, his voice barely audible. "Always."
