The sun hung low in the sky as Akira and Kiyoshi Kagusaki stood before their master, sweat dripping from their brows. Their master, a towering figure with sharp eyes that could pierce through deception, watched them closely.

"You two have potential, but potential alone won't save the world," Master said, his voice steady. "Today, we push beyond your limits. You must learn to fight not as individuals, but as brothers."

Akira grinned, bouncing on the balls of his feet. "Alright! Bring it on, Master! I'll show you how strong I've gotten!"

Kiyoshi remained still, nodding once. "We are ready."

Master clapped his hands, and the training grounds responded. The air vibrated as the earth shifted, stone pillars rising from the ground. The field expanded, morphing into an arena of jagged rocks, deep pools, and flickering torches lining the edge.

"Your challenge is simple," Master continued, stepping back. "Defeat me."

Akira's confidence wavered. "Wait, what? Master, you're crazy strong!"

"And you two will have to be stronger."

Before they could react, Master vanished. A gust of wind rustled Akira's messy hair. Kiyoshi's sharp eyes darted around. "Above!"

Master descended like a meteor, his fist engulfed in energy. Kiyoshi reacted instantly, summoning a pillar of fire. The two forces collided, sending a shockwave across the field. Akira used the moment to summon a wall of water, shielding them both from the explosion.

"Good reaction," Master praised. "But too slow."

The moment Akira blinked, Master was behind him. A heavy kick slammed into his side, sending him skidding across the ground. Kiyoshi's flames lashed out in retaliation, but Master twisted through them, unharmed.

"You rely too much on direct power. Think, adapt!"

Akira groaned, pushing himself up. His fingers curled into the dirt. "Alright, if brute force isn't enough, let's change the game. Kiyoshi, we need a strategy!"

Kiyoshi nodded. Without another word, he launched a fireball— not at Master, but at the nearest pool of water. The sudden heat sent steam billowing into the air. Master's vision was momentarily obscured.

Akira smirked. "Gotcha!"

From within the mist, Akira's water surged, forming spears that shot toward Master from multiple angles. At the same time, Kiyoshi launched a controlled explosion at the ground, forcing Master to leap into the air.

"Now!" Kiyoshi shouted.

Akira shaped the rising steam into sharp, frozen daggers. As Master dodged one, another closed in. For the first time, he looked mildly impressed. With a sharp exhale, he flicked his wrist, dispersing the incoming attacks with sheer force.

Landing gracefully, he smirked. "Better. But still not enough."

Without warning, he dashed forward, moving between them like a phantom. A chop to Kiyoshi's wrist made his flames flicker. A well-placed kick knocked Akira's legs from beneath him. Before they could counter, Master stood over them, arms crossed.

"Your coordination improved, but it lacks instinct. Your bond as brothers should be your greatest strength. Learn to move as one, and then, perhaps, you'll stand a chance."

Akira and Kiyoshi exchanged a glance. They were strong. But Master was right—they could be stronger. And they would be.

Master extended a hand to both of them. "Again."
