"Please, Director… Elder Su's death wasn't my fault! I swear!"
Ren'ai Hospital, Director's Office.
A young nurse named Sarah stood trembling before the hospital director. Her pale face shows as she clutched.
As an intern in the ICU, she had never imagined being accused of the death of a revered patient.
The director leaned back, his voice icy. "Elder Su was a national treasure. A 'medical accident' like this? You'll be lucky to avoid prison."
"But I did everything by the book!" Sarah pleaded, tears streaming down her face.
"Please, you have to believe me!"
The director's gaze lingered on her trembling hands before flicking upward.
"There might be a way to resolve this… but it'll require… cooperation." His tone dripped with false sympathy.
Sarah froze. Colleagues had warned her about the director's reputation—whispers of favors demanded, careers traded for silence.
"What… what do you want?" she whispered.
Leaning closer, he smirked. "Loyalty. Discretion. And perhaps… a demonstration of your commitment to this hospital." His hand brushed her arm, making her flinch.
"I—I don't understand—"
"You're clever, Sarah. Prove you're willing to protect this institution, and I'll protect you." His grip tightened.
Panicked, Sarah move away—her elbow accidentally striking his chest.
The room fell silent.
The director's face twisted with rage. "You ungrateful little—"
SLAP!
Before Sarah could react, two brutal strikes left her cheek burning. She stumbled back, clutching her face.
"You'll rot in jail for this!" he snarled.
Outside the office, Ethan froze.
That voice—his sister's voice—was pleading for mercy.
Ethan, a junior resident at the hospital, had rushed here after hearing rumors about Elder Su's death. But nothing prepared him for the scene inside.
CRASH!
He kicked the door open. Sarah, tear-streaked and pale, lunged toward him. "Ethan, don't! This isn't your fight! It's not worth it...."
But Ethan was already stepping between her and the director, fists clenched. "Touch her again, and I'll make you regret it."
The director sneered. "Ah, the brother. How stupid. But let's be practical—cooperate, and I'll ensure both of you keep your careers. Refuse then… your family loses everything."
"We'd rather starve than take your deals," Ethan growled and yelled.
"Then starve you shall." The director raised his voice.
"Security! Arrest these two—they killed Elder Su!"
Chaos erupted. Nurses screamed as guards stormed in, pinning Ethan to the floor.
Sarah begged for mercy, but the director only smirked. "Take him outside. Let the Su family see justice served."
The area became a nightmare.
Tears rained down on Ethan as Sarah's cries echoed.
"Stop! I'll do anything—just let him go!"
But Ethan choked out, "Don't… give him… anything—"
CRACK!
A guard's boot struck Ethan's spine. Agony exploded through his body—and as he collapsed, an ancient medical text tumbled from his coat.
No one noticed the faded characters on its pages shimmering… or the strange warmth seeping into Ethan's veins.
"Grandson, awaken! I am your ancestor, Tongtian Davis!"
In a daze, Ethan Davis found himself surrounded by an endless expanse of white light.
Golden characters floated around him, rearranging themselves into passages of text. The voice echoed again:
"Heaven has granted you my lifelong knowledge of medicine. To rebuild your body, your meridians must be reforged. Since death sought you, you shall now rise invincible."
The golden characters surged into Ethan's body.
"Transcendent Divine Art of Healing… Unlock!
Cosmic energy… Gather!
Ten Thousand Realms of Wisdom… Arise!"
A flood of ancient knowledge filled Ethan's mind.
ICU Hospital
An elderly man burst into the room, demanding, "Hospital Director! What happened? Elder Su was stable yesterday!"
The Hospital Director feigned concern.
"Divine Doctor Aruia! Thank goodness you're here. Elder Su's condition is critical!"
Divine Doctor Aruia checked Elder Su's pulse, his brow furrowing.
"He has a single breath. I'll attempt a new acupuncture technique."
As he prepared his silver needles, a young woman rushed in, her presence icy and commanding.
"Grandfather!"
Sophie Su, Elder Su's granddaughter and the renowned CEO of Wraldon's largest conglomerate(a large corporation that owns and operates multiple businesses in different industries), glared at the room.
"Who harmed him? I'll destroy them!"
The Hospital Director pointed accusingly at Sarah. "This nurse was responsible last night. Her brother attacked me—they're clearly murderers!"
Sophie's sharp gaze fell on Ethan, still crumpled on the floor.
"Why would they target my grandfather?"
"They're crazy! But rest assured—Divine Doctor Aruia is saving Elder Su," the Director said smoothly.
Unnoticed by the crowd, Ethan stirred. His wounds had vanished.
"Impossible!" The Director recoiled as Ethan stood, unharmed.
Ethan pulled Sarah close, his voice venomous.
"Lay a finger on my sister again, and I'll end you."
Sophie stepped forward, her voice frigid. "Did you harm my grandfather?"
Ethan ignored her, his mind still reeling with newfound knowledge. Closing his eyes, he visualized Elder Su's body—veins clogged with stagnant blood.
"That next needle will kill him," Ethan warned abruptly.
Divine Doctor Aruia froze mid-motion. "You dare lecture me, murderer?"
"I've done nothing. But if you want Elder Su alive, step aside," Ethan retorted.
Sophie gripped his collar.
"Save him, and I'll believe your innocence. I'll pay you five million."
"Five million?!" Ethan's eyes widened.
The Director scoffed. "Madness! Even Divine Doctor Aruia can't revive the dead!"
Ethan smirked. "I'll do it—on one condition."
