Chapter 2 - Chapter 2: Desire Arrow

Despite the intense aura of animosity emanating from both groups, the atmosphere was enveloped in silence—a tranquil yet eerie stillness.

Beneath them, the ground lay barren and desolate, marked by strange, deep holes scattered in various places.

After observing the sinister entities looming above, The Sun Derrick spoke in a calm yet worried tone, his body radiating pure golden sunlight as it began to transform: ''Be careful.''

From Franca's hair, snake-like strands with black, gleaming eyes at their tips sprouted, writhing and weaving with unsettling fluidity. Behind her, The Star Leonard underwent a transformation that radiated both serenity and horror. Four additional limbs extended from his ribs, while his legs became cloaked in coarse, grayish-white fur, giving him a haunting, wolf-like appearance.

Temperance Sharron's body expanded rapidly, growing to an immense size. Her form took on the eerie likeness of a doll, her blue eyes glinting with unnatural light, her body adorned with mummified sashes that fluttered as though alive. The air around her grew heavy, an ominous presence radiating from her towering figure.

The Mythical Creature Form of the Chained Pathway is a collection of various curses, depending on "Their" own self-awareness and choices made during "Their" advancements.

In Sharron's case, her advancement ritual to achieve demi-godhood was centered on the mummy of Tutanssess II. For Ancient Bane, however, a doll was used, one provided by her own teacher, Reinette Tinekerr, specifically for the ritual.

As they transformed, their very presence caused the ground beneath to tremble, with parts melting under the scorching light while others froze in place.

The darkness of the fractured moon deepened further, swallowing everything in its suffocating embrace.

Without waiting for their enemies to act first, Franca, whose beauty and charm could captivate even an angel, raised both her arms toward the heavens.

The fractured violet moon and the desolate land below were quickly obscured by a writhing forest of venomous black snakes.

These serpents exuded an aura of catastrophe and destruction, completely engulfing "Their" targets in a suffocating embrace of doom.

As the wave of black serpents surged toward the five existences above, the two figures wielding wooden bows and arrows—like true deities—smiled with sinister grins of unhinged madness.

They nocked arrows that appeared grimy, with gnawed shafts. With a swift motion, they released the arrows toward the swarm of snakes, and as the arrows flew through the air, they shattered upon impact, releasing a cloud of small spores.

Suddenly, the serpents halted mid-air, their writhing forms twisting inward. In a grotesque display of insatiable greed and hunger, they began to devour one another, a chaotic scene of self-destruction and pure hungriness.

The desire of gluttony!

As angels of Scrooge's pathway, they inherently wield authority over desires, granting them the ability to influence both living beings and inanimate objects.

They can imbue their arrows with an aura that stirs desires within anyone who crosses their path, whether subtly or overwhelmingly, depending on the intent behind each shot.

As the snakes devoured each other, their black blood spilling across the cloudy sky, the Cupid on the left—a boy with deep blue eyes and soft, curly blond hair—turned his gaze to Franca.

His voice was warm and honeyed, yet carried a commanding undertone that could compel most to obey:

''I can feel the pain in your heart—a sense of loss for someone who was once precious to you, and a deep revolt against this world. But don't worry, I will help you experience true love, the love of the Almighty Mother Tree of Desire. Will you accept becoming one of her daughters?''

Franca, her beautiful lake-blue eyes unwavering, responded with an expression of pure stoicism:

''Over my dead body.''

Her defiant voice echoed across the battlefield without a shred of doubt or fear.

Upon hearing her response, the Cupid on the right, her long brown hair flowing gracefully and accentuating her radiant green eyes, spoke in a mocking tone.

"I never anticipated a smart decision from a filthy creature like you anyway."

As her words faded, both Cupids' bodies twisted grotesquely, black tree branches erupting from their flesh. With sinister smiles, they responded in sync:

''Not everyone can comprehend the greatness of our Lord. But don't worry—soon, I'll make you fall in love with a fat pig until you are devoured by it in pure agony!''
