"correct" Lucy gave him a thumbs up "if this battle escalate into the mundane world, the syndicate world and political world would be pulled into it
making it difficult for the Wade's to have their original hold on the city. it's become a public affair including the rights of humans oblivious of our existence."
"with the rule of keeping the natural world oblivious of the existence of the supernatural, we would be forced to fight for the throne in a natural manner or risk exposing ourselves" Mansion caught in too
Lucy nodded affirming his dedication, "bastards" Mansion curse when he realized the weight of this issue.
"a bold step it is I must say, who ever came up with this idea is such a genius but entirely foolish"
both Mansion and Mark were caught off guard by Lucy remark, this issue isn't just dealing with the city battle for King's anymore
once news of supernatural beings existence is made known, the world would come knocking and this is a fact that the supernatural don't want to happen
"mind sharing light on your thoughts? none of us here is a telepathy Wolf" mark reminded her
"there are rules that governs the wolves of this city and that rules apply to the wolves of this city alone
this rules has guilded this city for ages and has given us control and power within its walls.. but"
"it wont matter anymore once news of supernatural beings living amongst humans come us
this city would become targeted by others, a small price to pay for the secrecy of supernatural."
Mark completes her speech, deep frown itch on his face more he understands the depth of the issue.
"I've stumbled upon a similar situation in one of the history book when the patriarch was still alive
it dated to about two or three centuries ago when a similar thing like this happened on this city
it was said more than half of this city was lost to this error, to the humans it was war but in truth it was murder, mass murder."
"I recalled it too, father had me read it when I was eight. it wasn't just the humans who got butchered but every single wolf in this city
it was after the war the Wade family rebuilt the city, other clan wolf also moved over to help rebuild it"
now there was total silence in the room, all three of them lost in their own thoughts.
"i believe we can avert this terrible storm coming at us, we can evade the destruction of this city and our iminate death if that's to occur"
"what do you have in mind Lucy" Mansion Lean over to hear Lucy out, seeing hope in this despair is a chance to live and who better to trust than a seer wolf.
"I had a vision when you left us, a hope for the storm we saw coming. the darkness shrouding this city has taken a cope of torn deeper
my last vision had changed too, now it isn't just the fall of the city but the awaken of ancient terror"
Lucy went on to explain her foggy vision to Mansion and Mark leaving nothing out but this did nothing more than pull the duo into more confusion.
"do you by any means have an understanding of this vision"
"No Mansion, it's the more reason I came over. this is growing way out of hands and the wolves cants handle it alone anymore
we need help and we need it fast, what ever horror lurking in the shadows hoping to consume us all isn't going to rest until this city is burn to the ground"
"by help you mean.."
"we need the help of a mystic" Lucy went straight to the point answering Mark questions, "from all I could gather, this war isn't just about power and ownership of this city
it something more deeper and sinister, probably a secret buried in the past wanting to be unveil"
Mansion and Mark fell short on what decision to make, especially when it's against the law of the city to allow any mystic enter the city
"the council would be mad if they find out" Mansion remark
"the city would be gone if nothing is done" Lucy replied straight forward, leaving no room for further deliberation.
...
meanwhile things were taking a slow pace with Alex Wade's, right now he is stuck to his PC researching the results he got from the picture he sent to a Forensic department.
going through the results didn't help out at all because the conflicting hypothesis sent over and results of his father death sent over earlier.
"how could those mark be inflicted by a beast, most likely a world of one of the feral animals when father was said to have died from a terrible accident" Alex question himself in thought
"still on it?" a gentle female voice cut in from the side, waking him from his thoughtful state.
"Stacy, when did you arrive? I was carried away going through the results from the Forensic department over the pictures I showed you"
"oh that, what was the result?" Stacy took the results from the table going through them calmly.
"wound seems to be from a feral animals, precise and wolf kind of beast" she mutter with a frown. "how is that even possible?"
"my point exactly, the records show the incident happened just few blocks away from the City national house while he was returning from a meeting with the official of this city" Alex explain even more confused
"hmm" Stacy frown deepen at this time, scrutinizing the look on Alex face. "have you tried getting to the city bureau in charge of the case to see what they got to say?"
"tried that already but nothing came out, they insisted the results the gave earlier are as accurate as it would be now even if it's been re-conducted
no matter how much I try to use family influence and power to pressure them, it makes little to no effect on the issue
it's just like someone more powerful than the Wade's is involved and backing them up
it's just so freaking exhausting getting no where with the case, I feel so useless and helpless at this moment"
"I understand your feelings dear" Stacy pulled him in for a bear hug, allowing his head to rest in her bossom. "we'll figure a way out together, that I'm certain of"
Alex relax in the warm of her embrace, aside Stacy been betrothed to him as his bride. they both are besties, growing up together from childhood.
so she is literally the only person he feels relax and ease to show his vulnerability.
"what's up with your family dear, I heard they've been having it tough recently with those supporting Helene due to their support to Mansion
I still see no reason they would decide to join our family power struggle, one I see no reason to
everyone already got set up both in the syndicate world and politics, why fight for position of family head?"
Stacy gave Alex a foolish look, she wanted to say something but refrain from doing so. "you sure have no idea how powerful an important your family is right?"
"I do Stacy, we are the Wade's. the most powerful family in this city and the leader of the syndicate world running the dirty jobs in the shadows
our business and political influence extends and stretches far beyond this city
so yes I do know how powerful the Wade's are, I'm a Wade after all"
Stacy stood there foolishly staring at Alex for a while like one staring at a kid, her lips kept twitching none stop.
she decided to give up on Alex naivety, "let me brew a cup of coffee for us, coffee helps calm down the minds too you know"
Alex slough back into his sit, scanning through the PC while Stacy help herself to the coffee machine.
"here you go, you've been stuck in the PC for hours I presumed. a little break from everything sure would go a long way to lighten up your day don't you think?"
Alex took the cup gleefully, and with a relax smile help himself to his coffee. "so tell me Alex, how would the Wade react when the jewel of the family suddenly dies"
Alex felt his hearing was playing tricks on him but the evil smile on her face made him rethink. "you're funny Stacy"
"Am I now?" her smile grew wider and before Alex could fully grasp the situation he finds in, he spat out a mouthful of blood with his nose bleeding black blood
"stac..... acy!" Alex fell off his sit, struggle and crawling towards Stacy staring at him grinning from ear to ear.
"I can't wait to see the reaction of those bastards when they truly lose one of their own" she squat and whispered into Alex ear before he passed out.
