Chapter 1 - the beginning

(Jinx Pov)The first thing I felt when I woke up was the blazing heat. My skin burned as if on fire, and the glaring sun above made my eyes water. I squinted against the brightness, trying to make sense of my surroundings. I was in some kind of desert, with giant spikes of rock jutting out of the sand like monstrous teeth. As I fully got up, a rush of memories hit me, almost knocking me back down. My name is Jinx, with no last name since I was an orphan. The orphanage had closed when I was ten, and I was tossed out onto the street. Life was harsh, but I quickly learned to fend for myself. From a young age, I noticed strange things happening to me. Every time I was cornered or picked on, the wind would protect me or help me escape, and I could blend into shadows smaller than myself, even when people looked right at me. As time passed, I realized I had the powers of darkness and wind.Experimenting with darkness, however, began to alter my mind towards darker and more sinister thoughts, so I focused on mastering wind. I knew even as a kid that if people discovered my powers, they would shun me. Through years of practice, I became a master of the wind, though there were still things beyond my grasp. I also became decent with darkness, enough to use it when necessary without it consuming me.The reason my previous self was in the desert was that I was following a map toward a mystical katana, a relic from an ancient war between the first master of Spinjitzu and some ancient evil. The scroll detailing its location was old and worn, making the journey treacherous. I had underestimated the desert, and it claimed me through dehydration. Now, as I stood in this harsh landscape, I knew I had taken over this body. Memories of the previous Jinx's quest surged through me, and with them came a renewed determination. The katana was still out there, waiting to be found.I gathered my bearings and started walking towards the towering rock spikes, using the wind to guide and cool me. The desert had taken one Jinx, but it wouldn't take me. Not before I completed my mission.Looking around, I noticed a map lying nearby, half-buried in the sand. I picked it up, brushing off the grit, and studied it. An "X" marked the spot in the middle of what looked like a cluster of mountains. I scanned the horizon for any landmarks and spotted a lone mountain standing solitary in the middle of the desert, to the northwest of the "X."Using the map as my guide, I adjusted my course toward the lone mountain. The wind swirled around me, offering some relief from the oppressive heat as I trudged forward. Each step was a reminder of my resolve, a testament to my willpower to survive and succeed where the previous Jinx had failed. The desert was unforgiving, but I had the wind at my command and the shadows at my back. I would find the katana, and with it, the power to carve my own destiny.(timeskip)It had been a couple of hours since I passed the lone mountain. Using the wind to lessen the resistance around me, I could run faster while also creating a shield to cool myself from the relentless heat. After another hour of walking, the sun finally dipped below the horizon, painting the sky in hues of red and purple. As twilight gave way to night, I reached the cluster of mountains. The sight was breathtaking—sakura trees adorned the landscape, their blossoms glowing softly in the dark, creating an ethereal and almost magical atmosphere. Their petals danced in the gentle breeze, a stark contrast to the harsh desert I'd traversed.I spotted a passage through the mountains and ventured inside. The path wound its way through the rocky terrain, illuminated by the faint glow of the sakura blossoms. After several minutes, the narrow passage opened up into a vast, hidden valley. In the heart of the valley lay a colossal, serene lake, its surface reflecting the moonlight. The water was crystal clear, revealing its astonishing depth that even led to a waterfall . Scattered around the lake were ancient structures, remnants of a bygone era. They stood on the only stable ground above the water, connected by narrow stone pathways and wooden bridges. The architecture was intricate, with ornate carvings and delicate arches, reminiscent of a lost civilization. The structures seemed to float on the water, their reflections shimmering in the moonlit lake. The air was filled with the soft rustling of the sakura leaves and the distant sound of flowing water. As I made my way across a wooden bridge, the wind carried the faint scent of cherry blossoms, mingling with the crisp night air. I approached the central structure, its grandeur indicating it was once a place of great importance. The ancient scrolls had led me here, and I could sense the presence of something powerful within. The lake and its surroundings exuded a tranquil yet mysterious aura, a stark contrast to the harsh desert outside. I knew the katana lay somewhere within this hidden sanctuary. Determined, I pressed on, ready to uncover the secrets of this mystical place and claim the relic that had eluded me for so long.I walked along the stone paths, the ancient structures casting long shadows in the moonlight. The first structure I approached held a gruesome sight—bodies of what I recognized as mist nobles from Sekiro lay scattered, lifeless. Their once ethereal forms were now twisted and still, their eyes vacant. I strolled past them without a care, their eerie presence only a reminder of the power that lay hidden in this place. As I continued, I occasionally spotted the bodies of Okami warriors, their once formidable forms now lifeless. The silence of the place was almost deafening, broken only by the occasional rustling of sakura petals in the wind. Eventually, I came across a grand structure with a large, open gate, known as the Floor Viewing Gate. Inside, I found the body of the Okami leader, as dead as all the rest. His lifeless form lay slumped against the wall, his hand clutching an ornate scroll.I pried the scroll from his grasp and unrolled it, my eyes scanning the intricate characters and diagrams. It detailed three powerful techniques. The first was the method to imbue a weapon with an element, a skill that could enhance any blade with elemental power. The second described a way to generate lightning, a technique learned from the first Spinjitzu master, though not as potent as the elemental master of lightning's abilities. The last technique was the art of redirecting lightning, a defensive maneuver of immense power. An idea sparked in my mind as I reread the scroll. Could I transform my darkness into lightning? Inspired by the method Uncle Iroh used for lightning bending in an old tale, I decided to adapt his technique for my own use with darkness.Finding a secluded spot near the lake, I began to practice. I focused on my darkness, feeling its cold, shadowy presence within me. I envisioned it transforming, crackling with the raw energy of lightning. It took several attempts, but gradually, I began to feel a change. The darkness within me started to hum with a new, electrifying energy.Drawing from Uncle Iroh's method, I guided the energy through my body, redirecting its path as if I were channeling lightning. The sensation was intense, a powerful surge that coursed through my veins. With each practice attempt, I grew more confident, the shadows within me sparking with increasing intensity.Hours passed, and the first light of dawn began to creep over the horizon. Exhausted but exhilarated, I finally managed to create a small bolt of dark lightning, its energy crackling in my palm. It wasn't perfect, but it was a start. I could feel the potential, the raw power waiting to be unleashed.Armed with this new technique, I felt a renewed sense of determination. The mystical katana was still out there, waiting to be claimed. And now, with the power to harness both darkness and lightning, I was one step closer to achieving my goal. The journey ahead was still uncertain, but I was ready to face whatever challenges lay in my path. After taking a short nap to regain my strength, I opened the Flower Viewing Gate and stepped out into the early morning light. I crossed the wooden bridge, only to stop abruptly when I saw it was broken in the middle. No problem. I summoned the wind to boost my jump, propelling myself onto a nearby platform with ease.As I landed, I saw more dead Okami warriors scattered around, their lifeless bodies a grim reminder of the battles fought here. Ignoring them, I focused on my surroundings and noticed another structure perched on a cliff nearby. There were no visible stairs or ladders leading up to it, making it seem almost inaccessible.Undeterred, I scoured the area for a way up. After a while, I spotted a tree growing out from the side of the mountain. It looked sturdy enough to support my weight. With a running start, I leapt onto the tree, feeling the wind catch me and guide my movements. Using the wind to boost my backflip, I soared through the air and landed gracefully on the cliff. From this vantage point, the view was breathtaking. The lake below shimmered in the morning light, the sakura trees glowing softly. I opened the doors to the ancient house and went through until I reached the backyard. There, I saw a small koi pond with a couple of thin-looking fish swimming lazily. Taking a piece of bread from my pocket, I crumbled it up and slowly fed the hungry fish, watching as they eagerly devoured the crumbs. After feeding them another piece of bread, I walked up some stairs near the pond, passing more Okami warriors along the way, until I reached the top of the mountain. There, I saw the relic I had been searching for, cradled in the hands of a woman who lay dead in what appeared to be a shrine. The overgrowth surrounding her suggested that it had been at least a century since her passing.Beside her lay a scroll, its ancient parchment delicate and worn. As I unrolled it, I read the story of the woman, a priestess who lived during the time of the first Spinjitzu master. She had been one of his first friends, along with a fellow priest and a blacksmith. However, during the battle with the great evil, she had brought some of its residue to the blacksmith, who forged a blade called Silence.Tragically, the priest had killed the blacksmith and taken the blade, but the dark energy within it proved too much for him, leading to his own demise. Upon discovering the bodies and hearing the story, the priestess fled to this place, the Fountainhead Palace, with the sword. Here, she witnessed the deaths of her comrades at the hands of warriors loyal to the great evil.In an act of finality, she chose to join them in the afterlife, consuming a red flower called the red spider lily before ingesting something to induce sleep. But not before keeping the sword close by, as the scroll's tale ended.Feeling a tear on my face, I wiped it away, only to see black tears staining my fingers. Moved by the priestess's story, I approached her and knelt down, closing my eyes as I clasped my hands together in a small prayer. I promised to keep the sword out of the wrong hands, to honor the sacrifices made by those who had come before me.With a solemn resolve, I gently took the relic from the priestess's hands, feeling its ancient power resonate within me. As I admired the katana in my hand, I marveled at its dark beauty. The blade, known as silence, gleamed with an otherworldly sheen, its edge sharp and deadly. Its hilt was adorned with intricate carvings, depicting scenes of battles long past.Running my fingers along the blade, I could feel the pulse of its power, a raw energy that seemed to hum with life. This was no ordinary weapon—it was a symbol of strength and sacrifice, a reminder of the price paid for peace. And now, it was in my hands, entrusted to me to wield with honor and purpose. With a sense of reverence, I sheathed silence at my side, knowing that its journey was far from over. But for now, it was safe with me, its legacy preserved for future generations to discover. And as I stood there, overlooking the tranquil landscape below, I vowed to carry on the priestess's legacy, to ensure that her sacrifices would never be forgotten.(timeskip)After giving a small prayer to the priestess i left the fountainhead palace but not before taking the gold leftover, feeding the koi fish and memorizing this place and leaving the mountains.when i was back at the desert i decided to follow the wind and see where it takes me but not before making a windshield to cool me down. After a couple of hours i finally reached the place the wind wanted me to go and i reached the destiny bounty but it still looked empty so that means the ninja hasn't been here yet.I then heard a loud roar and the ground shaking for a second before a cold gust of wind that smelled like fish hits me so i slowly turn my head and saw and saw a mythical ice dragon with a familiar ninja on it's back."Why, hello there, stranger. Is this your home by chance?" Zane asked."No, I happened to follow the wind, and it guided me here. But if we invoke the finders-keepers rule, then yes, it's technically mine," I replied with a grin."Follow the wind? I'm sorry, but I don't understand," Zane said, his curiosity piqued.I gave a small laugh and spun my hand a little. When I stopped, a small tornado formed in the middle of my palm, and I saw the confusion and pure awe in Zane's eyes."But I thought me and my friends were the only Elemental Masters?" Zane stammered."Oh, how naive you are, but I don't blame you. There are many Elemental Masters who haven't reached their true potential, though some still can use their powers. By the way, my name is Jinx. May I ask yours?""I am Zane, Elemental Master of Ice and one of the four ninja," he replied."Well, Mr. Ninja, I am the Elemental Master of Darkness and Wind," I said, demonstrating my power by keeping the mini tornado in my right hand and emitting a pure black smoke from my left, leaving Zane once again shocked. We spent the next hour talking, with Zane telling stories from his adventures with the ninja, including the competition for being the Green Ninja. I laughed heartily at the thought of their master's antics."Sorry for laughing, but none of you will be the Green Ninja. From what you told me, you didn't fully understand the scroll. One of the ninja will rise up to become the Green Ninja, but that can't be possible since no one can switch their elemental power. It's theirs until they pass it on or die. That means someone will join you in the future who will become the Green Ninja. Also, from what I heard in rumors, only the golden weapon can identify the Green Ninja when the chosen one is brought to them and tested. Since all of you have been around the golden weapons, it can't be any of you."Zane was shocked by what I said but, after some time, he replied, "You could be correct, but that evidence is theory at best, my friend. That's not going to convince the others.""Hahaha, you may be right, my icy friend, but let me tell you one more piece of information. Long ago, there was a war between the first Spinjitzu master and a great evil. After one of their battles, some remnants of the evil one's power were left behind and collected by a priest. He brought them back to a blacksmith, along with a priestess who were close friends with the first Spinjitzu master. They were even present at the creation of the golden weapons, forged from the elemental power of the first Spinjitzu master. The priest then had the idea of replicating the process to make a weapon as powerful as all four golden weapons combined. The golden weapons held the power of creation and life; this new weapon was intended to embody death and destruction. However, when the weapon was finished, the priest killed the blacksmith and took the weapon for himself. The pure darkness within the weapon overwhelmed him, leading to his own demise. The priestess, upon hearing the story from the blacksmith's last breath, took the weapon back to her home, only to find her people being slaughtered by soldiers of the great evil. Seeing the destruction caused by the weapon's power, she took it to the highest point in the mountain connected to her home, swallowed a berry that put her to sleep, and ended her life with the weapon in her hands. The point of the story is that only the weapons can choose their wielders, and it is said that the Green Ninja is connected to the first Spinjitzu master. In what way, I don't know; the scroll was mostly burnt."Zane was shocked again, sadness mixed within his expression. Then he asked a single question, "May I ask, do you know what happened to the weapon made from the remnant of the evil one?"I took a deep breath, feeling the weight of the knowledge I carried. "Yes, Zane. The weapon is in my possession. It is called Silence, and it holds immense power, a reminder of the darkness that once threatened this world. It is now my duty to keep the balance between good in evil since whenever there is light shadow will always be there no matter how bright it is and it's my job to make sure it neither side is out of balance" jinx said while showing zane silence unsheathed and he marveled at the dark power it radiated.Zane: W-Wow i only felt this kind of power once when me and my brother's connected our golden weapons but was blown away from it's unstable power.Jinx: thats because i have the elemental power that corresponds with the remnant forged with the sword and i can bring out it's full powerlike when the green ninja who reaches their full potential could wield the combined form of the golden weapons and use their full potential. After another of talking he started making multiple pies for his family with what looked like a portable stove someone must of left(i couldn't think of anything to justify how he made those pies)and even made me a sweet potato pie for me which i savored as he left ot bring his family back and i took this time to recreate some of the darkness along with wind moves i remember and the first three being black hole, liberation and Kurouzu from blackbeard and even got a better better at creating black lightning but something came to mind a idea or more like a fragment of a memory me in my previous life where i was studying some of the elements and when it came to darkness i remember for a brief second of 4 uses of darkness then what i've been using it Umbra-Ergokinesis, Darkness Empowerment, Umbra-Pyrokinesis, Umbra-Electrokinesis. Now it seems i got one of them but the other would be harder since I have no technique to use as a foundation and just apply darkness to it... i then slap myself since i could probably just do the steps to lightning generation but in reverse plus it also helps that i knew the principal to fire thanks to iroh and the dragons from avatar but then another thing hit me then i haven't acknowledged and it was i didn't have any memories of my past life or to be more precise detailed memories or more accurately emotional attachments . Like i knew what skills i had and how to use them along with my hobby of studying powers or at least bit and pieces and some of the anime and games i played but anything beyond that i don't remember at all not even the major plot of ninjago but i also knew that one of my mental problems i had in my past life along with my laziness, over imagination and lack of morals is the desire to be with my mother but it wasn't effecting me as it should which i just chucked it up to me not knowing my mother and it didn't help that i had the elemental powers of villains with really no family backstory or descendents.Jinx: (sigh) at least i get to start to fresh and hell now things will be interestingI then tried to use dark energy which didn't work but then i tried meditation and tried to think about the personality of darkness and how it is so mysterious and secretive but always present from even before we are born to long after we die. How it's neither good nor evil but corrupting and seductive. And it's not the counter to light but its balance but everlasting since it was here before creation and will be here after it's gone. As i was contemplating the essence of darkness i felt something different so i held out my hand and directed the feeling then i feel it envelope my hand and once i open my eyes a light purple ball of energy and i looked around and found a boulder near me and i shot it and it blew up the boulder.(timeskip)Its been about a hour since i achieved dark energy i decided to take a nap but was awoken up by a tap on my shoulder and once i opened my eyes i saw zane along with the rest of the ninja, nia and sensei wu.Jinx: hello there
