Ash and I had been waiting at the bus stop for
what felt like forever now. Well I'd been waiting for
forever, Ash had arrived close to ten minutes ago.
We sat next to each other on the bus Far far away
from Mori, close to the entrance. Ash rested her head
on my shoulder, she was the most beautiful and talented
and awesomest girl I'd ever met. She had really nice
long brown hair and her eyes were as pink as the cotton
candy I'd snuck into my backpack. No, she doesn't have
pink eye. I think it's natural? Her eyes have been that colour
for as long as I can remember and even though my memory
is horrible I think I would've noticed her eyes turning pink.
Lukiya got on the bus, closely followed by Ivy. Other than
Ash they were my best(And only) friends. "Hey! Took you
long enough to get here! Hiiiiii!" I smiled at the two who sat down
in the seat beside us. Ivy's purple eyes met mine and we smiled,
I'd missed her. "Hey" Lukiya and Ivy replied at the same time as
if they were psychic or something. "I really don't wanna go back
with Mori coming along" Ivy sighed, slouching down. Fair, we already
spent the whole school year with her and her dumb friends and now
we have to spend our winter break too? Not cool. "I HEARD THAT IVY!
I don't want to spend my winter break like this either!" Mori's voice rang
out from all the way at the back of the bus. I let out a quiet groan. I used
to think Mori was pretty. She had deep black hair with bleach blond
bangs and these hypnotic gray eyes. I still do think she's rather pretty
but her heart is as frozen as the lake and dark as coal. I slumped down,
looking over at Ash. She'd put her headphones in and probably hadn't
heard anything that was happening. God she looked beautiful in this
lighting, who am I kidding. She always looks beautiful. I listened to the
faint sounds of her music for the short ride back, tuning out most of the
bus. "Get off my bus you rotten kids!" The bus driver yelled, shaking me
back to reality. I gently shook Ash's arm "Come on". Ash nodded and
obliged, following me and the other twenty or so kids. Lukiya and Ivy
weren't hard to find, I quietly walked beside them as we made our way
to the large. "Wow, a lot of parents didn't want us hanging around for
winter break huh. My parents definitely didn't" I chuckled. "Yeah, mine
didn't either" Ash admitted. The janitor was waiting for us at the front gate.
He had dried out raisin skin and the nastiest, greasiest, fugliest hair I'd
ever seen. This might be biased though, I am very very gay. The janitor
opened the gate, I swear I'm gonna crash out if they don't oil this freaking
hinge. It sounds like screaming which is what I'm about to start doing. And
not even just because of the hinges. My parents let my brother stay home
this year because he's allegedly sick but he's fine! I mean come on, they'd
practically shoved me out the door this morning, but…I think I'm going to
have fun here. I mean I've been doing the winter break program since I was
in grade one but this is the first year all my friends are here with me! I still
have all the art and bracelets I've made over the years hanging up in my
room. One year Mom even put the Christmas tree I made on the fridge!
And, it stayed up for a whole week. Plus I love the school building, it's really
fun to play hide and seek in. "I definitely missed this place" I smiled at Ash
"I didn't" She replied.
