Chapter 2 - Chapter 2: Explanation

[System activating… The system is activated. Hello, host! I will be your partner from now on! I am the Player's System! And the two of us shall destroy all monsters!]

I look at the panel in front of me in shock before saying.

"Is this like an RPG system or something?"

[Yes and no! I am based on those systems, but I am more than that, host! Do you want to start the tutorial?]

"Sure. Give me the tutorial."

[Great! First thing first, you should say status!]

I nod and say.

"Status."

A second later, I can see another panel appear in front of me.

[Name: Jacob Helinuse Yurka]

[Title: None]

[Class: None]

[Level: 1 (00,00%)]

==

[HP: 100 / 100]

[MP: 100 / 100]

==

[STR: 10]

[VIT: 10]

[DEX: 10]

[INT: 10]

[WIS: 10]

[LCK: 10]

==

[SP: 10]

Ten across the board, huh? That is good, I guess.

[STR indicates how strong you are. VIT indicates how durable you are. DEX indicates how nimble and how fast your reactions are. INT indicates how powerful your magic is. WIS indicates how much mana you have. LCK indicates how lucky you are.]

"What about the last one? That is a little bit vague, no?"

[It indicates how good your drop will be and how high a critical chance will land. There is a cap for critical chance, however. You need to break the cap using items, completing a certain achievement, or through skill.]

Right. That is fair. If there is no cap, I will keep increasing my LCK.

[Your title is something you get if you do something great. The higher the level, the more titles you can equip. Each title has different effects that can help you in your journey.]

"That's neat."

[The next one is class! You can choose from this list of classes:]

[Warrior] [Rogue] [Mage] [Priest]

Without hesitation, I picked a mage. In all the games I played, I always picked a mage if there was a choice. And now I can play with magic like I dreamed when I was a kid.

[You choose Mage! You will get +5 stat points for your INT and WIS at each level. Level needs half of the amount of EXP it requires to level up your level. When you reach a certain level, you can upgrade your class. After your first upgrade, you can change your class to a new one. This will remove all the EXP you already have in your class, but do not reduce your level. Not only that, but you can also use all the spells and skills your class grants you. To unlock more class slots, you need to reach a certain level or complete a certain quest.]

"That is great. Which level do I need to reach to upgrade my class?"

[Level fifty]

"Fifty, huh? That is good."

[The next one is SP! This is your Stats Points. You will get ten of these each time you level up. You will not get any SP when your class levels up.]

"Fair enough."

[Into the next section! Please say 'Skills']

I nod and say.

"Skills"

A second later, a list of skills appears in front of me.

[Player's Body] [Level: MAX] [Passive]

{Player's Body makes it so that you have the body of a video game character. No matter how badly you are injured, you'll find that your body always works as if it were at 100%. You're able to keep going at peak ability on only a minimum of six hours' sleep, and when you do fall asleep for at least six hours, your body is completely healed.

Negative conditions like loss of limbs, illnesses, or paralysis are also healed when you sleep for six hours and are treated as status effects.}

That is a very powerful skill to have. Holy shit. Sleeping for six hours can cure even the most grievous injury, huh? Even loss of limbs is treated as a light injury.

[Player's Mind] [Level: MAX] [Passive]

{Player's Mind grants you the mentality of someone playing a video game. Whether it be drugs, mind control, mental illnesses, or anything that could affect you mentally, you will find yourself totally immune to it. Nothing can break through this immunity; because of it, you are also immune to boredom & mental exhaustion.

This doesn't just affect your mind state; however, for Player's Mind, it also reinforces you emotionally: No matter what, you'll always be able to keep your cool and keep yourself from being overwhelmed emotionally. This doesn't mean that you'll find your emotions muted, nor does it mean that you'll become a sociopath; it simply means that you're granted the self-control always needed to overcome it, affecting your decisions, no matter how mad or saddened you might be.

Lastly, your mind is also immune to any mind-reading attempt. Nothing can peer into your mind and read your secret.}

Another powerful skill. This time, it makes sure no one can control my mind and see my secret through mind reading.

[Tongue of Babel] [Level: MAX] [Passive]

{You can now speak any language known by humanity/humanity-equivalent species, at least at the equivalent of someone who's spoken it for 5-10 years. We're talking about sapient species, to be specific.}

A basic skill but very useful for me as I need to go to other countries to destroy the dungeons.

[Observe] [Level: MAX] [Passive / Active]

{A unique skill that grants you information about what or whoever you target with it. It can give you the target's name, HP, MP, and title.}

I don't know about this one. Breaking someone's privacy is something I didn't really like back on Earth. However, I know this skill will come in handy for me.

[Player's Home] [Level: 1] [Passive / Active]

{You gain the ability to make a door open up into a separate pocket dimension provided by your System. This one leads to a private home, in this case matching the size of a small apartment in a major US city. While this might be a downgrade to an infinite inventory slot, it will become considerably better in the long term. Indeed, the more experience and/or money you invest in this home, the better all of its features will become. The furniture will become more luxurious, the amenities will grow in quality, and you might even get to buy extra facilities (such as a gym or a cinema room) for much cheaper. Given enough time and investment, your little apartment could grow into a massive, luxurious manor that will always suit your tastes. The pocket dimension also grows into a personal world where you can store living beings and create a farm or even civilization with you as their gods.

Other than that, it has the basic function of Inventory. You can store anything inside your pocket dimension and summon them with a mental command. You can also immediately equip any gear stored here for a quick switch.}

This is convenient. I will travel a lot, and this skill is perfect for an adventurer like me. A cozy place to sleep and rest is something that many travelers envy.

[Firebolt] [Level: 1] [Active] [MP Cost: 10] [Cooldown: 2 Seconds]

{Release a bolt of fire that deals damage and burns the enemy}

Damage: 30 + (INT x 1.5) Fire Damage

Effect: Burn the enemy for three seconds (5 damage per second)

I don't know how powerful this spell is. It deals forty-five damage every two seconds, and I can cast ten of them at my current level. Four hundred and fifty damage, huh? That is decent for a level-one character if we are in a game.

[Arcane Pulse] [Level: 1] [Active] [MP Cost: 15] [Cooldown: 5 Seconds]

{Releases a small magical shockwave from your body, damaging all enemies within 2 meters.}

Damage: 20 + (INT x 1.2) Lightning Damage

Effect: Have a 25% chance of stunning the enemies for 1 second.

This one is tricky. It is excellent as an emergency stunning spell to get away. However, twenty-five percent is not that high. However, will the chance increase when I increase the spell?

[And that is the Skills! The next one is the Shop function! Please say 'Shop' out loud or mentally.]

"Shop"

A second later, another panel appeared in front of me. There are a lot of things in the shop. I can see skills, weapons, armor, and even an entire spaceship in the shop. Holy moly.

[As you can see, you can buy almost anything from the shop from across the multiverse. You can buy them using the money you use in the real world. I shall give you one hundred golds as a starting money. Use it wisely.]

"Thank you, system."

[No problem, host! And that is all! You can ask me what you don't know, and I shall answer them. I am here to help you, after all.]

I nod and think of my next move.
