It took Vanessa three months to circulate her essence smoothly. However, the problem actually lay in manifesting the essence.
Vanessa pointed her finger.
She turned back to stare at the godly figure behind her. His eyes were closed. He's really been thinking for three months?
Vanessa's eyes narrowed suspiciously.
"Impossible!"
She turned back to focus, however the moment she turned, his dark eyes opened and his lips curved up.
He had actually been observing her.
Vanessa pointed at the sky. The manifestation did not actually go as planned. The air only distorted. However the slightest reaction she got made her very excited. At least, she was able to make the world to react.
She pointed the more at the sky, and the magical effect of the air been distorted echoed off into the distance in a whoosh.
Excited, she turned towards old man Ice, however his eyes were closed.
He must have not noticed her progress. She pouted but she continued her training regardless.
All of a sudden, the air around seem to change and old man ice opened his eyes. He remained motionless for a while and suddenly, he moved in a startling speed, almost like he teleported and he was ahead, blocking her view.
Old man Ice's eyes grew cold and the entire universe was drown in an endless chill. Cold mist drifted through the atmosphere, causing the space around to shake and freeze.
Old man Ice tapped his finger and the sky shattered, making the universe itself to be overturned.
Vanessa did not understand.
She was protected safely behind his back, however she saw the rune carved upon his wrist glow and slowly fill up.
Her expression turned grave.
His Karmic binding? Why did the Dao Lord implement the Karmic restraints upon humans?
Vanessa did not understand. The Dao Lord was unfathomable, meaning that anyone can become unfathomable. So he created the karmic binding to restrain everyone and no one could break it. Not even old man Ice.
But...
Who is actually attacking Old man ice?
At this point, the cold she felt was actually chilling to the bones. She might have even found her bones turning stiff, she simply circulated essence to preserve herself.
"I've warned you Ancient God, you can never surpass me. You might have lived much longer, but I'm much powerful. Do not underestimate me."
Old man Ice's voice was very cold, very far from the gentle voice he had used to talk to her earlier. It caused Vanessa to chill.
"I might have acted rashly Ice, I did underestimate you. But when I come out of seclusion the next time, I'll ruin your pretty face."
The Ancient God immediately looked at Vanessa who hid behind Old man ice. "Oh, I did not actually sure see her standing behind you. Don't tell me that you have fallen in love with her. You can't fall in love, the Dao Lord forbids it."
Old man Ice's voice became even chilling. "I don't fall in love with mere mortal. She's an ant before me."
For some reason, hearing that statement caused Vanessa's heart to suddenly shatter. Did he just say that out loud?
At least, saying it inward would have spared her the heart break. Hold on, why am I so interested in the first place? He doesn't fall in love with a mere mortal, and I don't fall in love with old men...
Vanessa wanted to say this out loud so that Old man ice would hear it, but just like he said; she is just an ant before him so provoking a Primordial God would warrant consequences.

Vanessa gritted her teeth in anger. She did not say anything to prevent the two Primordial Gods from suspecting anything.
All of a sudden, Vanessa felt a terrifying sense of crisis and her hair stood on end.
"Fine old man Ice, since she's been just an ant in the last three months, let me have her." The Ancient God reached out to grab Vanessa, his unfathomable power pushing everything aside and causing an endless chill to fill the atmosphere.
However, Old man Ice's already cold eyes grew much chilling and he flicked his index finger. Suddenly, existence completely shattered in front of the Ancient God and his pupils shrank instantly and he retreated, not making any more advances towards Vanessa.
It was at this moment that the endless chills that Vanessa felt receded and she was calm. She didn't even know when she grabbed Old man Ice's hands out of fear.
She gripped his tight and his entire body froze.
He did not understand. She was so so warm and soft, it felt like he could break her with a flick of the finger. No, he cannot break her!
But she's just so soft... And—
The void suddenly pressed around him and his expression changed.
The Mahakala 76th seal. Almost unbreakable. Ancient God laughed... "I already knew that a woman would actually be the end of you. I had divined it. Fate actually assisted me and I traced it all down to this plumpy weak human girl."
Vanessa was suddenly upset.
Weak human girl? Did he actually call me weak? If I actually had my powers, I would have smacked you dead in the face, idiot!
"Destiny made it all possible and in line, it actually linked to Rica's mission. If not for that, we wouldn't have made the bet that you would find this girl. Which means, you actually listen to Rica."
Rica was suddenly uncomfortable.
"Why am I dragged into this matter? She's just my Lil girl, I'm using her for my own goals. Fate just happened to tweak the universe for a bit, how's that me?"
Vanessa was shocked. Could this Fate actually be another one of the Primordial God? One of the ancient powerhouses that Old man ice spoke about?
Are they scheming against him?
Is he truly a threat to them?
Vanessa looked at the stiff old man ice, trapped within a Mahakala 76th seal. They were both trapped and it is all her fault.
