Chapter 3:
"Did you see the lady just now? Oh my gosh!! She was sooo pretty!" A group of teenage white girls all huddled up together in the cold were gushing and fan girling. "She looks Asian too... Do you think she's a celebrity? What do they call that girl group, Annie?"
"Black pink? Yeahh! She looks like she could be a lead singer for an idol group. If only I were that pretty.." a wisp of smoke escaped from her mouth as she sighed. A wistful expression on her face.
The woman in question was a tall, slim and slender lady with extremely flawless skin, delicate features, and expressive almond-shaped eyes. Her long, silky black hair flowed effortlessly while framing her elegant face. With a slender, graceful figure, she moved with poise and confidence. Her style was refined and sophisticated, enhancing her natural beauty. Her presence is captivating—gentle yet alluring, with a quiet charm that leaves a lasting impression. She was ethereal and breath taking. Her beauty was unmistakable and impossible to not notice. The hushed whispers of the girls about her didn't seem to phase her, or rather she didn't pay any attention to what they were saying.
After a good five years, it's a bit difficult to imagine that this breathing and fairy-like beauty was the fatty that nearly lost her life in her second year of high school. That's right. This is Seol Yoon-ah. Despite the challenges she faced while schooling at home, after rehabilitation and counseling from therapy, she was able to change herself. She was like a Phoenix that rose up from the dust. Who would have thought that after losing a lot of weight, she would look this beautiful. She was the spitting image of her father. A younger and female version of her father.
She was on a walk to the park to meet friends for a final get together after the new years. After graduating the previous year, she had managed to make a few friends. Her face was scrunched up in concentration. She smiled when she thought about how she would be meeting her parents and he brother after so long in school the next month. She needed to have a bit of fun in London before returning to Seoul after all.
"Hey Yuna!" The cheerful voice of a beautiful British lady drew Yoona's attention out from her thoughts. Her eyes that had been resting on her shoes roved around the park before landing on a petite lady with short blonde hair and beautiful green eyes. She waved. The lady was Yoon-ah's first friend, Nelly. She was with three other people and they were all caught up in a heated conversation.
The cheerfulness of Yoon-ah's friend was a very contagious thing and it rubbed off on Yoon-ah herself. She smiled and she scratched her nose as she quickly made her way to the group. "Hey guys.. am I the last one here?" She was a bit embarrassed about being late to the get together.
"Not just you! James too. Yuna-shi what have told you about keeping to time... tsk tsk tsk " Nelly teased.
"Yeah yeah, I love you too.." she offhandedly replied, eyes fixated on the snacks on the table. Her tiny embarrassment forgotten and tossed out an imaginary window. She immediately reached for a sandwich and began munching on it as she watched the two boys bantering. Cole and Jacob.
"Okay I get it! You idiot! I won't come over when your girlfriend is over anymore!" Jacob exclaimed. He was the tallest guy in the group with blue eyes and short brown curls for hair. Freckles littered all over his face. In short, he was a cute guy. His face was red in frustration. He huffed as he pointed a finger at Cole who was hugging his girlfriend. Cole chuckled. He was a red head with glasses. Also quite handsome too and gave a boyish boy with brains...? Vibe.
"Find yourself a girlfriend" he said in a sing song voice as he held his dark skinned girlfriend, Petra. She was American and also black. She was so pretty, and her brown hair was long and curly. She gave mature and sexy vibes. When she smiled, her perfect set of white teeth showed. She looked at Cole and laughed. Cole was so unserious. Cole was an idiot in love for sure.
"Hey there Yuna" Petra smiled at Yoon-ah. Yoon-ah smiled back too. Her mouth was still busy munching on the food. Petra was a very quiet person and everyone knew that and respected it. "Did he walk in on you guys while you were about to...?" She cried. There is no need to complete that sentence as everyone understood.
"He almost did. Hahaha poor kid" Petra laughed. Seol Yoon-ah sighed. Poor Jacob, she felt for him.
The only one missing was just James. "I don't think James would be coming. Should we just eat everything and go to a club or something?" Nelly suggested with a funny expression on her face. Cole and Jacob finally noticed Yoon-ah. They both nodded at her.
"Petra and I would like to separate from you guys if that's what y'all are doing." Cole voiced.
"I'm sure Nelly was just kidding. Don't mind her." Jacob reasoned. It was a nice idea, considering Yoon-ah would be leaving the next month which was in two weeks.
"Let's just wait a bit more, I'm sure he'll come, if only to annoy me at the very least" Yoon-ah looked peeved while thinking about it. They all laughed at the expression on her face and proceeded to talk about how James was the most annoying of the group and how he would just anger Yoon-ah every second that he was in proximity with her.
"Remember the first time he saw you and how he just went on his knees and proposed to you on the spot after class?" Nelly snickered while covering her mouth.
"Aww man, those were bloody good days" Jacob recalled with a cheeky look on his face.
"He's such a big flirt too, that moron. " Cole chuckled with a shake of his head. Yoon-ah pouted while remembering all that transpired in college. They talked for a long time and late into the evening.
"I'll miss you guys. Truly." A somber mood was in the air and everyone went quiet. Nelly looked crestfallen and Petra looked sad and down. The men looked a bit sad too. They all stared at each other for a bit before everyone burst into laughter. Yoon-ah smiled and she looked genuinely happy about the friends that she had made. It wasn't easy coming out of her shell but she had managed. She also made Five good friends, even if one of them was a big pain in her behind.
"You guys are too cruel. Having an emotional moment without me...!" A low voice complained from behind the group. James finally showed up. He was a blondie with sharp, chiseled features, a strong jawline, and striking blue eyes that exude confidence and charm. His hair was casually tousled, which added to his effortlessly refined and charming look. He was very tall and lean with an athletic build, not as tall as Jacob but still quite tall. He was quite a looker.
He smiled a wolfish grin when his eyes met Yoon-ah and promptly sat down next to her. Every other person conveniently tossed to the back of his mind as he stared at Yoon-ah. He smiled as he stared at her. "Hey there cutie" Yoon-ah groaned internally, she could feel a headache coming on and James was just starting. "Your pretty hands looks so heavy, can I hold it for you?" He grinned, Yoon-ah's lips thinned.
"Bloody hell, your lips as well? How about I hold them with my mouth?" He was a natural born flirt. Yoon-ah blanched. He was so good at annoying her and he knew this.
"I'm going home guys" she stood up abruptly. She smiled at everyone and patted James on the shoulder. "You all could visit to help me unpack or we can say good byes at the airport. I forgot i had something to do later so I'll have to leave now" That was a lie.she was just trying to escape from James. She waved at them all. Nelly stood up to follow her. James pouted. "Leaving so soon my love~ don't gooo~"
