Synopsis

Prologue

Once, a great war ravaged the earth, its bloodshed staining the land. In the fifth year of the conflict, as the world teetered on the brink of ruin, the gods intervened, bestowing their divine power upon a single nation—a country that had chosen the path of peace. This nation, led by Herald III, stood firm against the chaos, determined to keep its people away from the flames of war.

As the gods' power descended, Herald received a vision: a call to unite the fractured world into one, forging a single nation for all of humanity. With the divine strength now coursing through them, his people set forth on a mission to bring every corner of the earth together. Through their efforts, the world was united, and the gods' gift was shared with every individual, empowering all to live as one.

For a hundred years, peace reigned across the land, but soon after, tensions began to rise between the once-unified states. The great nation of Sorania, which had once stood as a symbol of unity, was fractured into five distinct factions. It was the kingdom of Rava in the south, Revera in the north, Jaya in the west, Lora in the east, and at the center Sonalia. As this division unfolded, the balance of power shifted in unexpected ways.

Some people were born without any power at all, while others found themselves with abilities they could neither understand nor control. And then some could wield their powers with mastery. Society became split into three distinct groups: the Normals, those born without power; the Cursed, those who possessed power but were unable to harness it; and the Blessed, those who could control their abilities with ease.

Soon, the Cursed began to lose control. Their powers overwhelmed them, unleashing devastating calamities upon the world. In the wake of these disasters, the rulers of the five factions—once divided—finally came together, seeking to reform the great nation of Sorania. However, despite their efforts to unite, the balance of power remained disrupted, and the world was forever changed.

The Cursed faced widespread discrimination, regarded with fear and suspicion by the rest of society. Crime rates soared as tensions between the groups escalated, and law enforcement became primarily focused on containing outbreaks of cursed powers. In this turbulent time, detectives—who once dealt with routine cases—became more prominent, tasked with investigating and managing the increasing number of incidents outside the realm of the supernatural.
