Protagonist's POV
' Shit '
I cursed inwardly as peered through the glass window to look outside. Above was the familiar blue sky.
Although there were some unfamiliar vehicle like things hovering about I have it no thought. And for a very good reason.
Well, I was now looking at front. And I saw a massive building in the distant horizon. Even from this distance, I feel it's majestic presence.
It was like a looming behemoth slumbering at horizon. Just the glimpses of its structural design were far more appealing to my eyes than any building I have seen on Earth.
Yep, I was not a native of this world. And I never died on Earth, I suppose. You see, I was reading one of favourite novels after doomscrolling for quite sometime.
Then my sugar level went haywire which I saw through my smartwatch. I casually drank coke to alleviate the pain. And after sometime, my vision darkened.
But that can't mean I died. Because neither I was a good person nor I was a bad person. I was just a normal everyday person. The likes whom you would see roaming around yourself on any random street.
By the way, I am currently inside a futuristic bus which is traveling through air at breakneck speed. And there are no tires present on this one.
It's travelling through air by the help of electromagnetic suspenders attached to it instead of wheels.
It's truly a marvel of science. And this is what I have heard from the teens sitting in it :
" Yosha, can't believe I am on my way to Hero Academy! " A rimless spectacle wearing youth cheered. He was sitting on the second seat from front. He looked quite above average. Probably genes.
" Do you know this is latest version bus of Destiny Chaser Series? The series exclusive to Hero Academy!" A bushy haired girl exclaimed. She was sitting beside the specs guy.
"Wow. Guys, look over there. Such a majestic building!" A clueless looking boy said, pointing towards the horizon. He was practically beaming with excitement. He was sitting at the window seat alongside their seat.
The other two craned their head towards his pointed direction. Soon, they gasped in astonishment.
They were not the only ones doing that. Many others were doing the same. From time to time, I was able to hear gasps of awe and surprise.
And I was myself siting at the last seat of the bus, at the very back. As for my fellow 'seat mates', they were already dozing off.
They were way too relaxed. Same goes for the people till two seats in front of me. They were also dozing off.
But I was unable to relax in this relaxed atmosphere. Fortunately, I was leash in my anxiety. Outwardly, I was also dozing off with my eyes closed.
But inwardly, I was busy finding out which novel I was in. This was a matter of outmost importance.
Fortunately, I was sitting by the window seat. Thus, I was able to piece together some valuable information.
But it was still nowhere enough to find out which novel I might be in. Except for finding out that I was in a fantasy or sci-fic genre novel.
