CHAPTER 27.
They couldn't continue the discussion, as the school's emergency bell was rung. Edwin had to rush out to answer the call, but Akira, didn't move an inch. After all, he was an executive in the school, and he had equal right as the staff.
As he continued to ponder over his discussion with this boy, he soon felt overwhelmed by the urge to think. Suddenly, he heard footsteps walking towards the library, and just as he peeped to find out who it was, it turned out to be a year one student, who came to inform him about the dean's call.
_____
As usual, the hall was housed the students, was filled to the brim. Some students could be seen playing cards, while the rest were discussing. As Akira walked into the hall, there was sudden tranquility.
Well, he was that influential.
"The information reaching me now is that this semester's academic activities will officially begin on Wednesday, and not tomorrow." Immediately he made that announcement, there was a sudden uproar by the students.
Shouts of jubilation and over joyousness.
"Adding to that... I'd advice everyone of us to endeavour to take our academic activities very seriously. You can go back to your hostels." With that, the students began to rush out of the auditorium.
On days like this, it was always very tedious for Akira, as he always had to wait for all the students to leave, before taking his own exit. As he sat down on the front pew of the chair, he felt a sudden blow to the back of his neck.
Before he could even turn around to defend himself, more of it came. In fact, it was a total beat down.
"Why'd you lock up the room, and come stay here? Huh?" Jonathan barked at Akira, who was now deeply shocked. Then again, before he could open his mouth to speak, a slap landed on his right cheek, and before he could say Jack, a tear dropped down his cheek.
He paused in fear.
"Jonathan, what wrong did I do to you?" Akira asked, as he tried to hold back the stream of tears which had clouded his eyes.
"Shut up, you cheap bitch...!" He barked at him. "I'm just warning you. The next time, I'd make you pay for it." With that, he began to walk off.
Suddenly, he suddenly turned back, and began to charge towards Akira with full speed. However, he was stopped mid air by a flying kick.
It was sudden and unexpected. Before he could say Jack, the person had pounced on Jonathan, and began to feed him some heavy punches.
"I've been hearing what you do in this school, but in all you do, stay away from Akira... Stay away! Stay off his lane!" Bruce barked at him, and Akira gasped.
Aside from the groans of Jonathan who was lying flat on the ground, a sudden nerve wracking calmness, engulfed the entire auditorium.
"Bruce...?" Akira called out to him, but he ignored him.
Following what had been happening between them in the past weeks, he didn't even believe that he could come to his rescue.
"I'd deal with you, bro...!" Jonathan barked from the ground. "You'll definitely pay for this... I promise you..."
With the speed of light, Bruce ran to where he laid on the ground, and grabbed him by the jaw.
"I won't warn you, again. Ask about me in this school. As far as I'm concerned, I promise to be part of the people who'd make your stay in this school to be very MISERABLE!" Bruce spoke, as he made sure to pin him down to the ground. "This is just the beginning of many battles to come. You'd regret messing up in this place...!"
After he was done speaking, he immediately arranged back his clothes, as he began to walk out, without even speaking to Akira.
"Bruce...!" Akira called out to him, as he ran after him to catch up with him. "Thank you for saving me... I'm very grateful..." Akira said with a grateful voice.
Bruce paused at that instant, as he stopped on his tracks, and suddenly stopped to look at Akira.
"What?" He asked him with a stern voice.
"I just wanted to thank you for saving me. I'm grateful." Akira said.
There was a sudden wave of silence between them. Bruce looked at him from head to toe, before giving a reply.
"You should be thankful that I even came to your rescue..." He blurted, paused, and then looked into Akira's eyes.
They both stared deeply into each other's eyes.
"You're a betrayal, and you must stay away from me...!" Bruce said to him, and before he could even process what he had just said, he walked off.
Slowly, he made sure to clean up himself, as he started walking out of the auditorium.
_____
Immediately Akira stepped into the cafeteria, he noticed that all eyes were on him, but he ignored. After all, most of these students were always very fond of doing that.
With the speed of light, he saw someone running towards his direction.
"Good evening, Akira..." Edwin greeted him with a smile. "I tried to catch up with you earlier on after your speech in the auditorium, but I wasn't allowed to step into the hall." He explained.
They paused for a while, before speaking.
"Oh! How're you?" Akira, asked him with a smile.
He paused before responding.
"I'm great. Why were you fighting, earlier on? Who provoked you?" He asked, and Akira gasped in shock.
When he had the altercation with Jonathan, earlier on, he knew for sure that most of the students weren't inside the hall.
"How did you find out?" Akira asked him with a stern look.
Edwin paused for a slight second, before saying anything else.
"I saw some part of the drama, before they pursued all of us outside." He explained to him.
At that instant, Akira fell silent, as he couldn't even think straight.
Suddenly, there was a loud bang at the entrance of the cafeteria, and it sent shivers down the spine of the students.
What could it be?
