The rain danced, soaking the streets of Zisco. People hurried to get home, their shoes splashing through puddles.
In a small coffee shop glued between two tall buildings, Leo wiped down the last table of the night. The smell of coffee still hung in the air, reminding him of the endless orders and complaints from customers.
"Another day for nothing huh…" Leo said quietly, looking at the clock. It was nearly midnight, and his legs were already spoken from standing for hours.
The shop was empty for now, except for his manager in the back, counting the hard cash. Outside, the rain tapped on the windows. Leo tossed his cleaning rag onto the counter and stretched his tired fingers. "How long can I keep this up?"
He thought about his uncle who was in the hospital. The bills were piling up, and no matter how many shifts Leo worked, the money never seemed to be enough. On top of that, he still had his own rent to worry about.
Leo fiddled with the pendant around his neck, a keepsake from his father, who disappeared years ago.
The creak of the door opening interrupted his thoughts. A man came in, wet from the rain. He didn't even bother to scrub his shoes, and left water stains on the floor.
"Black coffee. No sugar," the man said, tossing a crumpled bill onto the counter.
Leo poured the coffee and silently handed it to him. As soon as the man departed, Leo locked the door and turned over the sign to "Closed."
He grabbed his bag and walked out into the rain. As he unlocked his old bicycle, the cool drops struck his face. "Just another dull day" he said under his breath, hopped on, and rode home.
The streets were quiet as Leo rode downhill, the city lights faint in the distance. The bicycle creaked under him, but he didn't pay much attention. His mind was full of worries about money and his uncle.
Suddenly, a strange sound made him stop. It was like a low hum, growing louder with every second. The air felt strange, and Leo noticed a glowing circle forming in the middle of the road ahead.
"Is that a Gate?!" he whispered, but before he could react, the circle expanded. It looked like a portal, swirling with yellow and blue light.
Leo tried to stop, but the wet road made his tires skid. Unable to avoid it. The portal pulled him in, and everything around him disappeared.
Leo's head spun as he hit the ground hard, his bicycle tumbling beside him. His body ached, and he groaned, trying to push himself up. His vision cleared, and he saw a massive shadow looming over him.
When his eyes focused, he saw a giant orc standing just a few feet away. The orc had three sharp horns on its head, and its glowing red eyes locked in. It let out a deep, menacing growl, then began charging toward him, shaking the ground with each step.
Leo's heart pounded. 'Am I gonna die here?' he thought in panic, struggling to get to his feet. His legs felt like lead from the fall, the pain holding him in place.
The orc's heavy footsteps grew louder, and it closed the distance quickly. Leo turned to run, but his legs refused to move. He stumbled, nearly falling again, as the orc's roar filled the air.
'Guess, I should accept my fate' Leo thought, breathless. 'I can't outrun it. This is it.'
The orc was now only a few feet away, its jaws opening wide, ready to strike. Leo's mind was filled with dread, and for a moment, he gave in to the hopelessness.
Suddenly, a message appeared in front of him, blocking his view of the orc for a split second.
[System Alert!]
[Objective: Kill this Retard Orc to Survive]
Leo blinked, confused. 'huhhh?' His thoughts raced.
Before he could think any further, the orc lunged toward him, claws outstretched.
In a rush of adrenaline, Leo rolled to the side, narrowly avoiding the monster's attack. 'This can't be happening' he thought, heart pounding as the orc's growl shook him to his core. 'I can't... I'm dead.'
As the orc closed in, the system message flashed again, more detailed now.
[Emergency Support Activated!]
[Weapon Acquired: Sword of Energy]
A sword materialized in the air in front of him, glowing with an otherworldly light. Leo grabbed the hilt instinctively, his body suddenly filled with energy. He could feel the power coursing through him, the weight of the sword steady in his hand.
The orc roared, charging again, but this time, Leo was ready.
The orc lunged again, its massive claws slicing through the air with a deafening roar. Leo barely managed to dodge, rolling out of the way as the orc's claws scraped against the ground where he'd been just moments before. His heart raced, but something felt different. The sword in his hand felt... powerful.
Without thinking, Leo swung the sword, the blade cutting through the air with ease. The orc staggered back, its thick hide cut open by the strike. Leo gritted his teeth and swung again, the sword landing another blow, this time deeper.
'This feels too easy, what is happening to me?' Leo thought, his hands gripping the hilt tighter as he adjusted his stance. The sword felt lighter now, as if it was responding to him, guiding his movements.
The orc snarled, furious, and charged again, but this time Leo was ready. With a swift motion, he swung the sword in an arc, the blade glowing brightly as it sliced through the air. The orc's arm was severed in a single strike, and it let out a horrific roar of pain.
Leo didn't hesitate. He charged, closing the distance and swinging the sword with everything he had. The blade connected with the orc's chest, and a burst of light erupted as the sword's energy surged. The orc let out a final growl before collapsing to the ground, defeated.

'…!?'
The sword still glowed faintly in his hand, and he could feel a strange surge of energy flowing through him.
the hell is happening to me?
His muscles felt stronger, the fatigue from his earlier fall melting away as if it never existed. The wounds from the battle had already healed, and his mind was sharper, clearer than it had ever been. The power was undeniable.
He looked down at the sword, then back at the system message. He was filled with a sense of accomplishment, but also confusion. His entire world had changed in an instant.
The screen flashed again, and this time a prompt appeared.
[System Name Prompt]
[Please name this system.]
Leo blinked, surprised. 'I have to name it? How is this even possible?' He thought for a moment, staring at the glowing words in front of him. Then, as if something clicked, he typed the name without hesitation.
"Saviour!"
He said aloud, the name feeling right. It had saved his life, after all. The sword, the system—it had all been part of something bigger than him.
[System Name Confirmed: Saviour!]
[Congratulations, Leo. You have successfully named the system.]
[System Initialization Complete. You are now the official user of Saviour.]
'Whatever this thing is, it's amazing!' he thought. The screen flickered one last time before fading, leaving him standing in the quiet, eerie emptiness of the portal.
Leo took a deep breath, his fingers tightening around the hilt of the sword. The glowing blue screen reappeared in front of him, flashing with new text.
[New Quest Assigned!]
[Objective: Slay the Orc King Ass]
[Do you accept the quest? Nevermind you have to or Orc king will fold you]
'THEN WHY FUCKING ASKED'
Leo stared at the screen 'The Orc King? If the last one almost killed me, how am I supposed to take down something even stronger?' His eyes flicked to the two displayed options. One taking back to his boring life. The other would keep him here, pushing him into a battle he wasn't sure he could win.
'This is risky, but…' he thought, determination slowly replacing his fear. 'this thing already saved me once. I have to trust it.'
Leo exhaled deeply and pressed "YES" on the screen.
[Quest Accepted!]
[Direction to the Orc King's Lair: Marked]
[Additional Support Unlocked: Minor Healing Skill]
Another notification appeared.
[You are now under a temporary status boost: Strength +5, Speed +3.]
Leo's body tingled as a rush of immense energy flow through him. His grip on the sword rightened, and he felt lighter, more capable.
'Alright' he thought, turning his gaze toward the path that had appeared on the screen, marked with a glowing arrow in the distance. 'Let's see if my death is written here or not!'
Without looking back, Leo began moving.
