Chapter 7 - Chapter 5 :Forging Action In The Shadow

Felix's POV

I hovered in the shadows of my own domain, the darkness within me pulsing like a living entity. It was a familiar, comforting sensation . I was the darkness, and the darkness was me.

My home was in the depths of Nature's Forest, where the trees grew twisted and the shadows whispered darkness. It was a place where the veil between worlds was thin, and the devils made their homes.

But I wasn't just any creature, I was a monster, more powerful than any demon that lurked in the shadows.

I had no family, not really. Just my sister, who trembled with fear whenever I was near, and my stepbrother, the king of this twisted kingdom. He ruled with an iron fist, but even he feared me.

They all did. The demons, the devils, the creatures of the night , they all whispered my name in terror.

I was the one they called the "Dark Prince", the one who wielded power that was beyond their understanding. And yet, despite my monstrous nature, I had no desire to rule over this kingdom.

I had no desire to be like my stepbrother, to be a king who ruled through fear and terror. I was content to lurk in the shadows, to watch and wait, and to strike when least expected.

I remained suspended in mid-air, my home's darkness surrounding me. Suddenly, a series of weak punches landed on my face, each one feeling like it came from a child.

I scanned my surroundings, but there was no one in sight. My anger grew with each repeated punch. As my fury peaked, I slowly began to descend to the ground, my movements deliberate and menacing.

As my fingers grazed my face, I felt a warm, sticky liquid. I looked down to see blood staining my fingertips. A faint surprise flickered within me - I never bleed.

But before I could ponder this anomaly, a searing pain erupted through my body. My inner demon's voice growled in my mind, "Fuck, make it stop!" The agony was unlike anything I'd ever experienced.

It was as if my very essence was being torn apart. My fury ignited, burning hotter with each passing moment. The pain only fueled my rage, and I could feel my darkness spreading, eager to unleash its wrath.

A low, menacing growl rumbled in the back of my throat as I spoke the words aloud, "Whoever is doing this to me will fucking pay."

The darkness within me stirred, sensing the depth of my rage. My eyes burned with an inner fire, and my voice dripped with malevolent intent. I would find the one responsible, and when I did….They would suffer.

I spun around, my eyes scanning the empty space, as the desperate voice echoed in my mind. "Someone, please help..." But there was no one in sight.

I was taken aback, wondering if I was losing my mind. "What the fuck is wrong with me?" I muttered to myself.

My inner demon's voice chimed in, its tone dripping with amusement. "It's your mate." The words sent a jolt of recognition through me. My mate? What did that even mean?

I snarled, my anger and frustration boiling over. "Fuck this mate." But before I could unleash my full fury, a voice I hadn't heard in ages whispered in my mind. "Just follow your heart."

I froze, taken aback by the familiar tone. It was a voice I thought had been silenced forever, a voice I had assumed was long dead. But now, it seemed, it was back, guiding me towards something.

I wasn't sure what, but I couldn't shake the feeling that my life was about to take a drastic turn.

A cold, calculated fury burned within me, consuming all rational thought. I didn't care about the voice, or my mate, or anything else.

All that mattered was finding the source of the pain that had been inflicted upon me. I wanted to destroy it, to rip it apart and watch it burn.

My vision narrowed, my focus solely on the singular goal of finding and annihilating the thing that had dared to hurt me.

I vanished, letting my heart guide me towards the source of that sound and the pain .

I materialized beside a tree, seething with rage. What was the point of bringing me to this godforsaken forest?

But then, my gaze landed on a scene that caught my attention , a human girl being brutally beaten by some thug or whatever that guy was . I couldn't care less about the violence, but what drew me in was her soul.

And then, it hit me, a pang of pain. She was the source.

Damn it.

She was my mate.

But her soul

It's different from all the others I've seen. I'll save her, not because I like her, but because I'm drawn to her soul. It's beautiful.

I feel pure hatred for this girl. She's weak and makes me feel pain.

I despise my mate, unlike those who believe in love at first sight.

For me, it's the opposite.

Her eyes seem familiar, but I'm not sure where I've seen them before. "Just save her already, this pain is unbearable," one part of me growls. "She's making us look weak," another part of me snarls.

I was about to intervene, but then my inner demon whispered, "Don't be foolish, Felix. Make a deal, a contract. She must sign it to ensure her safety, and in return, she'll belong to you ,her soul, mostly." I let out a dark chuckle.

Yes, I'm a genius. Or maybe it's just my demon, but who cares?

I strolled into the scene, and the guy let out a menacing growl. Definitely a werewolf. I snapped my fingers, and he froze in place.

I couldn't help but chuckle, loving the ease with which I wielded my powers.

"Need help?" I asked, approaching the girl. I extended my hand, and she took it, her eyes locking onto mine.

"I'll help you, but only if you sign this," I said, holding out the paper. Her eyes followed mine to the contract.

"If you don't well, you'll die. This werewolf will kill you," I added, pulling my hand back and letting her fall to the ground. The werewolf's growls grew louder, and I couldn't help but feel a thrill of excitement.

This was entertaining.

The whole "love at first mate" thing? Not happening here.

But she is cute, I'll give her that. The blood smeared across her face is intriguing. And I'm probably a sight to behold myself, covered in the same blood. I must look like a complete lunatic.

I flashed a charming smile and winked at her. "You have 10 seconds to decide, princess."

I could sense her panic rising.

"9''

''8''

''7'' I counted down, my eyes never leaving hers.

I let out a frustrated sigh.

Mhhhmm, human, just sign already.

"6''

'' 5" I counted down, my tone dripping with impatience.

"You know what? I'll just leave you here. You clearly don't need my help," I said dryly, trying to hide the fact that I was actually panicking.

This human was driving me crazy.

I snapped my fingers, and the werewolf sprang back to life, charging towards her. Fear flashed in her eyes, and she begged, "No, please, I'll sign!" I smirked, snapping my fingers again to freeze the werewolf in place.

I used my powers to lift her off the ground, and she hovered in mid air, still trembling. I handed her the contract, and she asked, her voice shaking, "What are you?" I replied with a hint of sarcasm, "I'm Felix, an angel. I'm very angelic, and I'm saving you."

She looked uncertain but I couldn't care less .

I urged, my patience wearing thin, "Sign already, human." I handed her a pen, and she took it, still suspended in mid air.

I couldn't help but admire my own powers , they were indeed beautiful. But my gaze kept drifting back to her soul .

As soon as she signed, I let out a low, amused chuckle. "You, my dear, just made your life easier and mine too," I said, floating beside her and wrapping my arms around her.

"Always remember the name Felix." I whispered, my breath against her ear. "It will all feel like a dream," I added, and she looked up at me, confusion etched on her face.

I focused my powers to uncover the events that led her to this point. With a swift motion, I sent her back to the comfort of her own bed, in her cozy one room apartment.

To her, it would indeed feel like a dream, a fleeting memory that would soon fade. But for me, it was only the beginning. I would be watching her, always.

As I gazed at her peaceful form, something stirred within me. It was a sensation I hadn't experienced in ages, and I couldn't quite put my finger on what it was. But I felt it, a spark of something. I wasn't sure what to make of it, but I couldn't deny its presence.

I vanished into the night, leaving the girl to her peaceful slumber. My attention turned to the werewolf, but my mind lingered on her.

I needed to know everything about her, every detail, every secret. A possessive urge coursed through me , she was mine, she belonged to me.

My inner demon whispered a reminder, "For her soul only." I smiled to myself, a sinister grin spreading across my face. Yes, definitely.

A sly smile crept onto my face as I whispered to myself, "This is just the beginning, human. We have a long, dark journey ahead of us."
