Chapter 1 - Prologue

I'll never forget the day my life changed forever. It was a typical Monday morning, and I was rushing to get to work on time. As I turned the corner onto Main Street, I wasn't watching where I was going. My eyes were fixed on my phone, scrolling through emails.

That's when it happened. I collided with a tall, imposing figure, spilling scalding hot coffee all over his crisp, white shirt.

"Oh no, I'm so sorry!" I exclaimed, mortified.

The man's eyes narrowed, his gaze piercing. "You should be," he growled, his voice low and menacing.

I felt a shiver run down my spine as he towered over me, his presence intimidating. I apologized profusely, offering to buy him a new shirt or coffee, but he just glared at me.

"It's fine," he said finally, his voice dripping with disdain. "Just be more careful next time."

With that, he turned and strode away, leaving me feeling shaken and embarrassed.

Little did I know, that chance encounter would set off a chain of events that would change my life forever.
