After discussing the game, Judy recalled a particular move Peter made in the game that was incredibly dangerous. It happened when he was destroying a robot in the garbage town.
As Peter's armor was running low, the sound of hurried footsteps behind him signaled that danger was close. Without hesitation, Peter dashed straight toward the wall.
Just when Judy thought he was about to give up, he pulled off a move that left her completely stunned.
Peter used the wall-climbing mechanism, allowing himself to stay on the wall for only half a second. When the robot spotted him, Peter used that moment to propel himself off the wall, landing behind the robot. In a swift motion, he unloaded a barrage of bullets into the robot's back.
Judy watched, utterly amazed by Peter's combat awareness and skill. If Peter hadn't been standing right in front of her, she would have sworn he had a combat prosthetic.
"Peter, you're amazing!" Jack exclaimed. "After seeing that, I want to try this game for myself."
"Really?" Peter asked, glancing at Jack. "I think it's not too bad either."
"Thank you, I'll pass on the cost of Judy's Mewtwo experience to you now," Peter added with a grin.
"You know, I'm more interested in you than the game," Judy said, catching Peter off guard. "Can you leave me your contact information?"
Peter blinked, momentarily confused. Having been a veteran of Cyberpunk 2077, he was well aware of Judy's preferences. After all, in the game, he had used a male character and always picked options that made Judy feel comfortable.
It was all about friendship. He never considered anything beyond that, especially not modifying the program.
"Ahem, don't think too much into it," Judy continued, noticing the confused look on Peter's face. "I think you have the potential to be an anchor for the Chaomeng game, so I just want to share some details with you."
Peter was still processing her words when Jack chimed in. "I've come here so many times, but I've never seen you ask for my contact information, Judy."
Judy turned to Jack, looking annoyed. "You should come here less, Jack. I just saw you flipping through my new Dream movie. You said you haven't used the last one, though?"
Jack shifted uneasily, knowing that his interest in the "super dream" movies was the real reason he visited Judy. He couldn't help but wonder why Judy seemed increasingly annoyed with the men of Night City. Over time, her attitude toward men had shifted, and she'd started avoiding them, gravitating instead toward women. But something about Peter seemed different.
Judy couldn't quite place what it was, but there was something she couldn't ignore.
"Alright, I'll send my phone number over now," Peter said, breaking the silence.
The operation panel in front of Peter flickered, and his head appeared in Judy's display. She quickly received his request and inputted his contact details.
"By the way, Judy," Peter continued, "could you send me a copy of your Chaomeng game? I think I could perfect it for you."
Judy raised an eyebrow, intrigued. "Can you program things like that?"
Peter nodded. "I'm quite skilled in that area."
"Really?" Judy replied, not hesitant. She trusted Peter, especially since he was the first man she hadn't felt disgusted by. From the look on his face, it seemed like he genuinely cared about the game.
"Peter, the guy who took down the Maelstrom Gang I told you about didn't rely on brute force. He's also a rare hacker," Jack suddenly interjected.
"The entire Maelstrom Gang—dozens of them—were all blacked out by Peter in one go..." Jack trailed off.
Peter felt a little embarrassed. "I just did my part."
"Okay then, I'll make a copy for you now," Judy said, focusing on her work.
A few moments later, Judy handed Peter a chip containing a semi-finished version of the game.
"Although you probably know this already, I want to remind you: Chaomeng hasn't been released to the public yet, so I don't want it showing up on the market, understand?" Judy warned, her tone serious.
"Don't worry, I know what's at stake," Peter reassured her, accepting the chip.
Judy finally relaxed and handed it over. "Alright, you should leave now. I still have some work to do."
After exchanging farewells, Peter and Jack left the studio. Judy immediately returned to her Mewtwo editing work.

Outside the Ritz Bar
"I can't believe it, Peter, you're incredible," Jack said, unable to hide his admiration.
"What's so incredible about playing a game?" Peter asked, dismissing Jack's praise.
Jack grinned. "I'm not talking about the game. I'm talking about Judy."
"Judy? What about her?" Peter asked, confused.
Jack shook his head in disbelief. "You really don't know? Judy doesn't seem to be interested in men, so you're the first man to ever get her to ask for your contact info."
Peter looked at Jack, raising an eyebrow. "What are you trying to say?"
Jack smirked. "What I mean is, maybe there's something more between you and Judy?"
Peter sighed, rolling his eyes. "I'm bored. I'm heading home."
Seeing Jack was being his usual teasing self, Peter waved him off and headed to the light rail station nearby.
On the light rail, Peter found himself lost in thought. Initially, he had believed the technology of this world to be far more advanced than his previous life. But when it came to games, even FPS games with gameplay resembling APEX didn't seem to have made it here.
The chip in his hand was only a semi-finished product. After playing the game earlier, Peter realized it still had its flaws. But that didn't mean he was giving up on becoming a legend in this world.
However, he knew that being a legend alone wasn't enough.
After all, what did it matter if you looked like V at the end of the city in the game? You were just another mercenary. To truly gain a foothold in this world, you needed more—a company with stable income, power, and influence.
Even with his superhuman abilities, force alone wasn't enough. He wasn't a tyrant, eliminating anyone who opposed him. But when faced with opponents, Peter would always crush them without hesitation.
