A white Jaguar car slowed down at the intersection, waiting for the light to turn green. The atmosphere inside the car was filled with silence as the two people in the car, a handsome young man in the driver's seat and a pretty, elegant young lady in the front passenger seat, her beautiful face covered with a frown; they were both solemn.

As the lights turned green, the car moved forward. At that moment, they heard a loud sound of a vehicle rushing towards us.

Jesse snapped her head towards the direction of the sound and saw a white truck driving towards them at full speed.

"WATCH OUT" she screamed. Before it hammered into their car.

The car tumbled severally and stopped a distance away from the crash, laying upside down.

She slowly opened her eyes as a low groan escaped her already pale-looking lips. Her head felt foggy, and she felt her long, silky hair sticking to her face from the blood spewing from the cuts on her head.

Jesse tried turning her head slowly to the right to check on her big brother, Jack, who received the most impact from the crash, his head lying in a weird position.

Her heart was instantly filled with an ominous feeling; slowly, she tried opening her mouth to speak but wasn't able to make a sound.

Although she didn't give up, after several attempts, "B...Bro," she managed to call out to him, her voice sounding extremely low, with tears streaming down her face.

"Bro... can ... you hear me? ... Wake up," she said slowly already feeling anxious and scared as she didn't get a reaction from him

In that instance, she saw the truck that hit them moving toward them at an even more alarming speed. If she thought the first crash was an accident, she knew for sure now that it wasn't as simple as that.

[Are we going to die like this?]Jesse thought with a heavy heart.

Darkness... Everything became dark and quiet. Memories of her life flashed through her mind

Jesse Brown is the princess of the J.S. conglomerate. Her Father, Mr. James Brown, started the company at an early age with the help of his wife, Mrs. Susan Anderson Brown.

They had their first child Jackson Brown, soon after getting married, while Jesse Brown came five years later.

Jesse grew up being pampered and had the best life any girl could wish for. She had luxury clothes, shoes, and accessories. She is beautiful and elegant. She also had the best education, graduated with perfect results, and opened her own little company.

Her life was perfect, or so she thought. Till it came crashing down in an instant.

She went to an event outside the country with her brother, only to receive the news of her parent's death a few days later.

They were perplexed, confused, and found it hard to believe. Their parents were perfectly healthy. How is this possible? They immediately booked a flight back home, and they were on their way back from the airport when they got involved in the accident.

Jesse was snapped out of her thoughts from a sharp pain in her head

She found that she was surrounded by darkness, like a void. With nobody in sight.

Feeling both scared and confused, "Jack? Where are you?" she screamed while stumbling around the darkness, but no matter how much she searched, she couldn't find anybody around.

She crouched down, hugging her knees to her chest

Is this how it all ends? Mum... Dad, I have to see them. I'm so scared' she thought with a heavy heart. What happened to Jack?

"It's so cold and dark," she said into the void, but she didn't even hear her echo.

"If only I had a second chance" she murmured before being engulfed yet again with darkness.

She doesn't know how long she stayed like this, seconds, hours, days, years even. It felt like a short time and also a very long time. She just sat there hugging her legs to her chest for what seemed like forever.

Suddenly, amid the darkness, a blinding light shone, causing her to wince and shield her eyes from the light by reflex.

She saw a figure of a person standing in the middle of the light; at that moment, she felt a ray of hope, a way to escape this endless nightmare.

Hurrying over to the person, she was finally able to see what the person looked like.

In front of her was a petite, pretty teenage boy, skinny, with his pale, smooth skin glowing in the light and his black hair almost covering half his face, leaving only his small nose and supple pinky lips to view.

Jesse almost mistook him for a pretty girl if it wasn't for the absence of two growths on his chest.

He was hunched over and looked very gloomy

"Hello" Jesse called out to him

Slowly, he lifted his head, and Jesse took a low, sharp inhale of breath. His eyes were gorgeous, a clear, deep, and vivid purple. His eyes were the violet of a deep, deep, bruise... as if pain filled him so completely, it colored his view of the world.

"Who are you? Where is this?" She asked the boy

Who, on the other hand, kept staring at her, making her feel dumbfounded. He looked like a teenager, most likely fifteen or sixteen, but the twenty-three-year-old Jesse was short of words in this awkward situation.

Waving her hand in front of him in an attempt to draw his attention towards her"Can you hear me? Who are you?"

At this point, Jesse began wondering if he could see her or not. "Can you see me?" She asked in a low voice almost a whisper. Still no answer, he just stared.

Her face fell, already losing hope, thinking he was just a figment off her imagination due to her desperation.

However, while still gazing at her listlessly, "JESSE" he said in a low voice.

"How did you know my n-"

She felt a zapp and was muddle-headed. By the time she regained her senses, she was lying on a bed.

Jesse tried opening her eyes, but her eyelids were very heavy, making the long, curly eyelashes flutter like butterflies; then she felt a sharp pain in her head. Instinctively wanting to move her hands but my arm felt extremely heavy.

Jesse heard voices around her. 'Where am I?' she thought as a low groan escaped her lips.

The voices in the room stopped after hearing her making a sound.

"Jesse?... Jesse! You're awake, can you hear me?" an unfamiliar female voice called.

"I'll get the doctor," a male voice said, followed by hurried receding footsteps.

Jesse slowly opened her eyes to see a bright hospital room, with the smell of disinfectant all around her.

Is this a hospital? where is the boy? What happened to him?

'Jack!!! Where's Jack?' she thought, recalling moments of the car accident, causing her to wince in pain as her head ached.

Trying to observe the unfamiliar environment, she moved to sit up and the unfamiliar woman rushed to her aid.

The woman pulled her back to the bed while hugging her as low sobs escaped her lips "It's alright, you're alright, my baby" she said

This confused Jesse more as she didn't know who the woman was and why she'd cry so heartbreakingly for someone she didn't know.

"Don't move. The doctors are on their way" she said to Jesse with a still crying voice.

Jesse wondered who she was and why she felt sad to hear the woman's concern for her. This made her miss her parents and want to see them.

Although, she would really like to know who the woman was but her priorities at that moment was her family.

She really needed to know how they were. She tried asking the woman but her throat felt dried and parched.

Noticing her discomfort the woman quickly got up "Let me pour you a glass of water"

She poured her a glass of water, when a male doctor and a female nurse hurried into the room. With an unknown young man leading the way.

"Doctor, you're here. How's my son?" The woman said

'Son..' Jesse thought

The doctor walked over to her and did some checkups.

"He's in good condition, it's a miracle he woke up so soon" the doctor said

The woman let out a breath of relief, as though she has been holding her breath, almost collapsing to the ground. The young man who has been standing there without saying a word since he entered the room quickly grabbed her "Mom, are you okay?"

"Sorry, I'm fine. I'm just so happy your brother is finally awake" she said while reaching for Jesse's hand.

Jesse felt the warmth from the woman's palm onto her hand, feeling even more confused. 'Are they referring to me?' Jesse thought

'Son...He... Brother???'
