Chapter 13 - Episode 13

Time had passed.

The vast darkness of space slowly gave way to a distant blue planet.

Earth.

The destination was close.

Inside Frieza's spaceship, a soft beeping echoed throughout the corridors—an alert that their arrival was imminent.

And deep within the lower chambers, inside the healing bay—

A hiss of decompressing air.

The liquid inside the healing chamber drained away, and Raziel's eyes flickered open.

Raziel Awakens

His body twitched slightly as his senses returned.

The chamber's glass slid open, and a Frieza Force soldier stepped forward.

Without a word, he grabbed Raziel's arm and pulled him out.

Raziel staggered slightly, blinking rapidly, his mind still adjusting.

His body no longer ached, no longer burned.

The healing was complete.

Yet—something felt… off.

Led to Frieza

The soldier, maintaining strict military formality, simply gestured.

"Lord Frieza is expecting you."

Raziel said nothing, still dazed, but followed obediently.

Through the metallic hallways, past the soldiers who barely spared him a glance—

Until finally, he arrived.

Frieza sat casually upon his floating throne, awaiting him.

A small smirk on his face.

And Raziel—

Was different.

Raziel's New Look

He wasn't wearing his old, tattered clothes.

Instead—he now wore Frieza's army uniform.

The standard battle armor, dark with white plating, the Frieza Force insignia marked on the chest.

And on his left eye

A red scouter.

Turned off, inactive.

Raziel blinked down at himself.

Something felt… strange.

Then—he spoke.

Raziel's Confusion

Raziel: "Uhh… I feel kinda… weird? Maybe uncomfortable?..."

His brow furrowed slightly.

"I'm not sure… maybe it's just… not my style, and I'm not used to this."

Then, his hand instinctively reached for the scouter.

"Also… what is this thing?"

He flicked it lightly.

"Some weird monsters were wearing this outfit and gave it to me…"

He looked up at Frieza, his expression filled with uncertainty.

"I don't know, it's just… confusing…"

Frieza's Reaction

Frieza's smirk deepened.

"Ho ho ho~… Is that so?"

He leaned forward slightly, resting his chin on his hand, tail swaying lazily.

"You'll get used to it, my dear Raziel."

His golden eyes gleamed with satisfaction.

"After all… you are one of us now."

Raziel tilted his head slightly, fidgeting with the scouter on his left eye.

It felt strange, slightly uncomfortable, as if it wasn't meant for him.

Still, despite his confusion, there was a hint of curiosity in his voice.

Raziel's Questions Begin

Raziel: "Uhh… I like that, but… sounds a little weird…"

He paused, trying to adjust to this new identity.

"Nevermind, it's just me…"

Then, he tapped the scouter lightly again, still unsure.

"So… what is this thing exactly? Are they like sunglasses, but for one eye?"

Frieza's Amusement

Frieza's smirk widened, his tail flicking lightly behind him.

"Ho ho ho~… Not quite."

His eyes gleamed with amusement.

"That, my dear Raziel, is a scouter. A sophisticated device designed to read power levels, track energy signatures, and communicate over long distances."

He leaned forward slightly, clearly enjoying Raziel's confusion.

"It is a tool of intelligence and precision. One that will aid you greatly—so long as you learn to use it correctly."

Raziel's Reluctance & More Questions

Raziel blinked, processing the information.

Then—he frowned slightly.

"O-okay… but… uh…"

He hesitated.

"How exactly do I use it? I mean, I don't want to accidentally break it just by pressing something wrong…"

He paused again, thinking.

"Wait… does it have a self-destruct function?! What if I push the wrong button and it explodes?!"

Frieza chuckled softly, clearly entertained.

"Ho ho ho~… My, my… you certainly ask a lot of questions."

Raziel crossed his arms, slightly defensive.

"Well, yeah! I don't wanna break something important, or do something I shouldn't!"

He glanced around the room, then back at Frieza.

"You seem to really value this kind of stuff, so… I just wanna be careful."

A brief silence.

Frieza's smirk faded just slightly.

For a moment—he saw something different in Raziel.

Unlike the warriors who served him mindlessly, Raziel valued things.

He wasn't reckless.

He wasn't careless.

He wanted to understand, to be sure.

It was… a rare trait.

And it meant—

Raziel could be trained properly.

Frieza Decides to Teach Raziel Properly

Frieza let out a low hum, studying him carefully.

"Very well, Raziel. If you insist on being so… thorough, I shall teach you properly."

He extended a hand, motioning for Raziel to pay attention.

"Now then. The scouter has a single activation button on the side. Press it once to turn it on."

Raziel hesitated.

"Just once, right? Not twice? No secret second function?"

Frieza sighed, amused.

"Yes, just once."

Raziel nodded slowly, then carefully pressed the button.

The scouter beeped to life.

A faint red glow flickered over his vision.

Numbers and data appeared in an alien script, scrolling for a moment before stabilizing.

Raziel's eyes widened slightly.

"Ohh… okay, okay! I see something! What's this text? Wait… I CAN'T READ IT! Am I supposed to know how to read this?!"

Frieza chuckled.

"It is written in the standard Frieza Force language. But do not worry… it will translate automatically when scanning a target."

Raziel let out a deep breath.

"Alright… good… because I was about to panic."

Frieza smirked.

"Oh, I noticed."

Learning to Scan Power Levels

Frieza continued.

"Now, to scan power levels, you simply focus on a target, and the scouter will calculate their energy signature."

Raziel nodded, understanding.

"Alright… so, just look at someone?"

"Precisely."

Raziel turned his gaze to one of the nearby Frieza Force soldiers.

The scouter beeped softly.

Numbers appeared.

[ Power Level: 1,750 ]

Raziel blinked.

"Huh. So… that guy is 1,750? Is that high?"

Frieza smirked.

"For a grunt? Perhaps. But compared to the true titans of this universe… it is meaningless."

Raziel nodded slowly, thinking.

Then—

"Wait… what's my power level?"

He looked toward a metallic surface, hoping for a reflection scan.

The scouter beeped… but then flickered oddly.

[ Error: Cannot Detect Power Level. ]

Raziel stared.

"Wait… huh? It's not working?"

Frieza watched closely, intrigued.

"Ah… how fascinating."

He leaned back slightly.

"It appears that, much like before, you have no detectable ki signature."

Raziel frowned.

Raziel: "So… I can't use this to measure myself?"

Frieza: "Not yet, at least. If we were to awaken your ki, perhaps that would change."

Raziel absorbed this information carefully.

He wasn't frustrated.

But he was curious.

Final Questions & Observations

Raziel: "Alright… so this thing tracks ki, translates data, and lets me talk to others?"

Frieza: "Correct."

Raziel: "And it's not going to explode if I press the wrong button?"

Frieza: "No."

Raziel: "And I can't see my own power because I have no ki?"

Frieza: "That is correct."

Raziel sighed, nodding to himself.

"Alright… I think I got it now."

He folded his arms, processing everything.

"I just gotta be careful with it. I don't wanna break it."

Frieza smiled darkly.

"Ho ho ho~… yes, that would be wise."

He studied Raziel carefully once more.

"You are quite… particular, aren't you?"

Raziel shrugged.

"I just don't wanna waste things. If something is useful, it should be valued, right?"

Frieza's smirk deepened.

"Yes… I couldn't agree more."
